Fraxis Games: You're plotting a new game again, aren't you? Sid Meier: The currents before us are ever changing. We must adapt, press foward, if we are to see our journey's end. Fraxis Games: And how will we know when we get there? Sid Meier: *smiles*
This cutscene always makes me smile. It's so wonderful. Such a great, well designed cinematic. Blows civ 5's out of the water. Also makes me understand my playstyle even more. I'm always eco as well as territorially aggressive. This is because I feel that conflict is, always has been, and always will be an unavoidable thing. And thus I feel that I should get it over with when I have the advantage, to avoid a long, drawn out, and unsustainable war. It's not ruthless, it's my way of showing sympathy for other leaders. If I take them down quickly, painlessly, and sustainably, it makes life easier for everyone. Drawn out war is never a good option
A game like this will never be fully playable multiplayer...it's way too long of a game lol. That is, if you're talking about random multiplayer games. It's always worked fine for me and my friends.
With almost 2000 hours logged in Steam for Civ 5, I've been ready for this for a while now. Waiting eagerly for Friday. Hoping my marriage will survive. :P
Id like to take this oportunity to say thank you... Thanks for Sid Meier and the rest of the team to create such a beutifull game, a game to comemorate humanity as hole. The same noble goal that drove Nobel to create the prize, a prize that this game should be warded, Nobel prize of Peace. Not many forms of Art , comemorate humanity in a complex way such as Civilization. Soo again, thank you !
Please. Print this on a golden vinyl and send it to space. This is just the best representation of earth. This soundtrack, this trailer. Thats all it needs to describe our civilization.
I dunno, I feel like I enjoyed the Civ 5 launch trailer more. It felt... grander. Like you saw these huge monuments from afar, panned over sprawling metropolises, witnessed massive battles with siege towers and catapults and castles, and it ends with the young leader looking over vast swaths of unexplored and unclaimed land ready to be founded. Here it was a much more personal journey. There were no big establishing shots, the camera kept centered around one or two people, and the entire thing was shown through the lens of one character. It just doesn't feel as epic in scale, which is a big part of Civilization to me and something that has always been an important part of the trailers to me.
Yea that was more grand but I think they wanted to do a smaller scale opening something different. I personally liked how it focused on the one family line and showed different technology and settings, also liked how at the ending it was a woman instead of the guy because ya know times changed.
George Sears i think its nice to focus around how one person has it. When you look at a grand scale like the Civ V launch, thats good and all. But i think its cool to focus how one person experiences that grand scheme. And how he/she fits into the larges scale experiences.
@meowmeow7t I don't think that's necessarily about gender. I think that by that scene they meant that we spend our lives building for our children so that they can live in a better civilization. It might include the gender thing, but I took it more generally.

My god. Goose bumps all over. Great work, Civilization team! Only objection is that this video should have been released October 21st instead of the 17th.
You did a great job in hyping me but i hope that the game will be good, cause the more you get hyped the better the game has to be in order to not get disappointed ... :D But im pretty sure you did a goddamn good job Love you guys
I've just realized something. Sogno di Volaire means the dream of flight. Every scene shows the dream of flight at a different stage in human history or a different interpretation of it . Ancient Era, Starts with a view of the moon and horizon which is being used to navigate Classical Era, the massive height of the colossus and the Seagull soaring through the foreground Medieval Era, The fireworks in the night sky drawing attention upwards Renaissance Era, The Winged Hussar Modern Era, The first aircraft ever Atomic Era, The battle of Britain, one of the greatest air wars ever fought Information Era, The Rocket reaching out to the stars bringing humanity to soar in the heavens
Why do all Civ trailers end in a spaceship launch... You know how most Civ games end??? With Gandhi fucking obliterating every living fucking thing... maybe they should put that in the trailer....
Just imagine as it cuts to the final scene after so much buildup of progress as people advance through the ages you are in a dark room with a red light flashing. You see a shadowed figure and a close up on a hand turning a key and pressing a button, then it cuts to nukes being launched and the devastation it brings. As the scene closes we are brought bag to the shadowy figure as he turns towards the camera then the red light flashes again revealing Gandhi with a sinister smile, his face aglow in seemingly demonic light. Then suddenly darkness Civilization VI *theme plays*
True, but its likely a attempt to give a sense of scale of going all the way to the dawn of civilization and settlements and going all the way into space, arguably our most crowning ability for civilizations to achieve...even if we do virtually nothing with it now. I'm personally hoping the game bring in more futuristic units.

use pokeball... (throws pokeball, swivels three times) caught! Aragorn was added to your party. not enough room because of Frodo, Sam, Gandalf, legolas, and pippin. Aragorn will be transfered to your pc.
He didn't die, given him and the lady are basically immortal gods of human civilization they probably do a thing where the lady builds and discovers new things, hence being qualified to be astronaut, and Sean Bean is the one who starts wars and ensures the plebeians are kept in check.
He's just letting the normal folk think he's dead before he comes back and starts another massive war.
Gandhi is his right hand man, the enemy of the world while our Dark Lord Bean prepares his forces.
no, seriously, I just have something in my eye.....really :'(. Christopher Tin hits it out of the park, again!
Then the winged hussars arrived.
Could not agree with you more Marcus.
Coming down the mountain side
Yeah, I don't get where the watery stuff in my eyes is coming from.
1:12 OH GOD NOT THE WINGED HUSSARS!
Harry Miller THEN THE WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVE
Kieran Moran COMMING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN SIDE
That's what their enemies often said
***** OH HELL YES IT ITS XD !!!
Having just seen Sabaton play that song live this weekend.... yessss.
I like how they transitioned through inventions to show us how the inventions that's meant to serve to the humankind turned into weapons to kill them.
1:09 fireworks to muskets
1:42 airplanes to fighters
Ya also, notice the burning oil, to fireworks, to muskets, to planes, to bullets and more planes, to solid fuel rockets, it’s all combustion
Actually in reality its the opposite.
Inventions like fireworks and planes were first used as weapons before they were even used for peaceful purposes.
GPS is also a good example of it.
Everything was a weapon before it was used by civilians.
@@jeffersonmcomen7226 not planes dont know about fireworks
planes were only theorized for military porpuses were in ww1 like 15 years after it was invented. dont know about fireworks tho
@@yanivgalmor1747 They were all first used as weapons.
Civilians only made experimentations on how to build a plane, the military perfected such flight in WW1.
Everything is driven for the desire to kill. It's the sad fate of humanity.
I, for one, cannot wait until Gandhi steamrolls me with his elephant horde...
... backed up by NUKES!
nuclear elephants
elephantic nukes
Nukes of peace.
Darkk Mane?
That... was .... absolutely... .... ... breathtaking.
Glad to have taken your breath away :)
revansgc you know who else gets his breath taken away? Sean Bean. In every art form he participates in.
Was that the Battle of Britain (1940) ?
certainly was!
1:12 then the winged hussars arrive? :O
POLAND STRONK!!
But it doesn't seem like they are *coming down the mountainside*
Das große A what if they made the mountainside because then they definatly changed the "tide"
I hope Poland isn't as broken as they were in Civ 5
DemonlordHatty true...
When a video game trailer becomes a motivational video.
1:12 WHEN THE WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVE!
i was saying something like polish thingy!
this basicly confirms Polska in the game in future dlcs
if not, im gonna kurwa kill them
saw this as an ad on a video I was about to watch. the music captured me within 5 seconds and I watched the whole thing and forgot what video I was actually planning on watching. This is now my favorite song and probably always will be 👌
Christoper Tim is an amazing composer
Can someone explain to me, what actually just happened. This doesnt look like a game, but more like an inspiraional skit to get everyone in the world together to fight against evil...which, would be cool.
Dom McClain Play the game and find out
Dr_Salt I DONT HAVE MONEY DX
No it shows that humanity always goes beyond its limits
Fight evil. Ha! Gaaaay
I was gonna shekel you but then I read your name
Im not crying while rewatching a civilization trailer i just have something in my eye
Winged Hussars, does that mean Poland! :P
For sure dlc
And then the winged HUSSARS ARRIVED!
kurwaaaaa!
Niestety nie :(
Need song of "Sabaton".
"No Sean Beans were harmed in the making of this launch trailer."
(Gandhi launches a nuke.)
"You were saying...?"
..I mean, he did get shot in the face...
Ok, Im a gamer, i do not know how do you guys do this, but every single trailer you release, every single music, and every smart remittance in the game is just outstanding and beautiful. Every time i watch your trailers it always brings tears to my eyes, and they are not tears of sadness, they are tears of pure joy
Recognising winged hussars as one of the greatest phenomenons in the history of humanity brings warmth and joy into my little polish heart
Watching that clip of the hussar made me proud to be Polish, and I'm Canadian with German/Scottish ancestry
Fraxis Games: You're plotting a new game again, aren't you?
Sid Meier: The currents before us are ever changing. We must adapt, press foward, if we are to see our journey's end.
Fraxis Games: And how will we know when we get there?
Sid Meier: *smiles*
"if we are to see our journey's end" not "for that's how our journeys end"
What happens when a civ that is all the way on the other side of the fucking continent declares a surprise war against you?
7 years later this still goes hard
My opinion has not changed since the release of Civ 6. This is is the greatest video game intro of all time.
..speaking about rising to the challenge...did Firaxis rose the the challenge to make multiplayer actually playable this time around?
lmao
lol what about the AI ( i hope it has a brain )
Tering I heard it's gonna be like civ 5 but a lil better cause of the new agenda stuff with the Ai
A game like this will never be fully playable multiplayer...it's way too long of a game lol. That is, if you're talking about random multiplayer games. It's always worked fine for me and my friends.
They have said that they are trying to do that, we'll just have to wait and see.
1:11 THEN THE WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVED
So far the only Sabaton reference I've seen in RUclips outside of their actual videos! :)
With almost 2000 hours logged in Steam for Civ 5, I've been ready for this for a while now. Waiting eagerly for Friday. Hoping my marriage will survive. :P
You got up to 2K hours! Well done. Ready to surpass it with Civilization VI?
Id like to take this oportunity to say thank you... Thanks for Sid Meier and the rest of the team to create such a beutifull game, a game to comemorate humanity as hole. The same noble goal that drove Nobel to create the prize, a prize that this game should be warded, Nobel prize of Peace. Not many forms of Art , comemorate humanity in a complex way such as Civilization.
Soo again, thank you !
What's that like, 3 games? :P Have fun!
Dude, they just answered you, it's your lucky day.
i'm close too, with 1700 hours; can't wait to get may hands on this one
+George Sears I fully agree with you, sir.
George Sears Totally agree with you
I have not been this hyped for a game since Age of Empires III.
Thanks, the hype is real!
same, i freaking love civ and cannot wait until this new one
I really can't wait either.. This Friday guys! In Australia anyways :)
Dark Chilly same in europe!
He's one of those 6,000 year old souldiers you start the game with and they never die off.
7 years later... Civ 7 is here.
"It is the nature of human kind,
to push it self toward the horizon.
We test our limits!
We face our fears!
We rise to the challenge,
and become something greater than ourselves!"
JUST EPIC!
I have a presentation on Elon Musk and his enterprise to go to Mars. I would like to quote: "It is the nature of humankind to push itself towards the horizon, we test our limits, we face our fears, we rise to the challenge, and become some greater than ourselves." But if I quote -Civilization 6 everyone in class will look at me weirdly XD
Why? People on your class don't play Civilization games?
You should consider going to a better class, then. :/
Just. DO IT.
seapanther909 They wont know it's civ 6 if they don't care about civ 6 mate
Note: you can probably quote -Sean Bean or -Sid Meier's Civilization Dev Team or something, maybe they quoted that off of someone else, I don't know.
seapanther909 Let your dreams come true!
My god. Goose bumps all over. Great work, Civilization team! Only objection is that this video should have been released October 21st instead of the 17th.
Wanted to keep the hype strong until Friday...because then you'll be playing!
You did a great job in hyping me but i hope that the game will be good, cause the more you get hyped the better the game has to be in order to not get disappointed ... :D
But im pretty sure you did a goddamn good job
Love you guys
Yup. "Goose bumps all over". Great job with the theme song! Compliments to the artist!
That music at the beginning in the first scene is so deeply touching!
I've just realized something. Sogno di Volaire means the dream of flight. Every scene shows the dream of flight at a different stage in human history or a different interpretation of it .
Ancient Era, Starts with a view of the moon and horizon which is being used to navigate
Classical Era, the massive height of the colossus and the Seagull soaring through the foreground
Medieval Era, The fireworks in the night sky drawing attention upwards
Renaissance Era, The Winged Hussar
Modern Era, The first aircraft ever
Atomic Era, The battle of Britain, one of the greatest air wars ever fought
Information Era, The Rocket reaching out to the stars bringing humanity to soar in the heavens
Hevyupgrade wow
Perfect description!!! 😄
Will the whole game be narrated by Sean Bean?
Pretty much
Soooo does this confirm Sean Bean as a playable leader?
If that were true...
Easy to assassinate .
Infernal460 lol yessss xD
Whats the point? He will die anyway.
He already died in the trailer, he died when they shot the glass.
1:46 I want civ 7 graphics to look like this, that would look soooo good
Fucking yes, Sean Bean is the narrator.
* spoiler* He gets killed in the first hour of the game...
@@roberthpilesund384 Hour? I think you mean 5 minutes...
It's amazing how the musical cue at 0:13 can make a simple act like writing seem grand and epic. We all contribute a verse...
1:06 This is a nice civilization you have here...
1:10 Would be a shame if someone conquered it
1:12 *AND THE WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVED*
[R.I.P.]
2 and a half years later and watching this still gives me chills!
This is just beautiful. The part where the WW2 plane rises up from the behind the cliff captures the indomitable human spirit.
Christopher Tin never ceases to amaze me... incredible score and all around trailer
"It is the nature of humankind to push itself toward the horizon.
We test our limits. We face our fears. We rise to the challenge..."
- Sean Bean. Rip
Can we all agree this is one of the best trailers in the history of the videogames?
Why do all Civ trailers end in a spaceship launch...
You know how most Civ games end???
With Gandhi fucking obliterating every living fucking thing...
maybe they should put that in the trailer....
Yes, I concur.
Then suddenly darkness
Civilization VI
*theme plays*
+Lord Jub-Jub *back
_My_ Civ games end in a spaceship launch about two thirds of the time. Or more.
True, but its likely a attempt to give a sense of scale of going all the way to the dawn of civilization and settlements and going all the way into space, arguably our most crowning ability for civilizations to achieve...even if we do virtually nothing with it now.
I'm personally hoping the game bring in more futuristic units.
This must be one of the best game trailer I’ve ever watched.
I'm still pissed that Persia is not in the game.
***** Not even close to the same thing.
I mean It would be amazing if every major or even not so major civ was in the game but... you know...
***** It wouldn't be redundant. Heck they could base them off the Sassanid Empire instead of the Achaemenid Empire like they usually do. Spice things up.
they do not want all their eggs in one basket gotta make that DLC $$$$$$
I'm sure they'll be added later. They're not going to jam everything in at launch.
0:15 Ancient Greece
1:05 Middle Ages of China
1:20 Renaissance period
1:35 Wright Brothers' first flight.
1:50 World War 2
2:10 Space flight
1:20 is absolutely not the Renaissance. Those are Polish Winged Hussars in what looks like some 17th century battlefield.
1:05 are the portuguese traders in china i believe
Civilization casually dropped 7 of the hardest transitions ever, and thought we wouldn't notice
If that is Atlas holding up the world, what is he standing upon?
turtle in the space
yo mama
Frank Drebbin Paradise
Frank Drebbin atlas didnt hold the world
And the turtle's shell has pyramids, mountains, waterfalls, and lakes?????
Why did I just felt strong emotions from a strategy video game trailer? I want to cry but I'm too cynical to allow myself to do it. T_T
I know right! It's just a 2-minute video, why am I so emotional about it?
Because Christopher Tin is an amazing composer. One of the reasons I keep playing Civ is because of people like him.
This musical score combined with the cinematic... It's too beautiful 😭❤.
