To challenge growing muslim population. Hindus started child marriages. In ancient times of Indian civilization there was no child marriages. Siddharth (Gautam Buddha) & Vardhaman (Mahavir) were married at age of 24 & 25 respectively.
In ayurveda & other indian religious scriptures, it is clearly mentioned that marriage age of man should be equal to or greater than 24 & for women it should be greater than 18.
Yes in hindu society also had child marriages, sati pratha but we made law against it. Now it's illegal. We had the guts to accept the fault.

The show had nothing to do with Hindus and Hinduism, but she was like victim of every kind of assault, oppression, exploitation trying to express her anger on it. The practices of child marriage has been rejected in Hinduism long back ago, but see how confidently she has been quoting it like a brain-dead. And what amazes us is, Still she is anchoring shows like this.

There isn't one book, instead there is a library. There are several schools of thought that ponder upon this life, each with their own philosophy. It's up to you to seek the knowledge that you want.

It's so true, because every time anyone talks about anything bad that has to do with Islam, you'll ALWAYS get these "but what about" responses, as if that somehow nullifies or justifies the bad things in Islam. You'll hear, "but but but, what about the Bible and Christianity? Mary was age 12 when she gave birth to Jesus", or "But but what about King Henry who had a wife who was age 13? Why don't you talk about that? Yeah, talk about them instead!" As opposed to "that's a good point about x, y, or z. I'll explain the reason for this...". You rarely hear someone talking about, for example, baseball, and have someone chime in and say, "But what about basketball?! In basketball they also...". It almost ALWAYS happens when discussion Islam and religion and it's an elementary way of "arguing".

Burkha Dutt, Hindu Child marriages in India is punishable by Indian law and even Hindu religion do not advocate such marriages.Its a practice in illiterate, some rural part of India, while Islam is fine with such kind of marriages.
