  • Kymco AK 550 Ride (Filling Up a MSR Fuel Bottle)
    Went out for a small ride today to fill up a MSR Fuel bottle I purchased the MSR fuel bottle should I need it during an emergency. Today was the first time that I filled it up. All went well and there were no leaks. When filling up the MSR bottle you have to make sure that you do not fill it all the way up. The manufacturer states to only fill it up to 75%.
    It was cold outside; you will hear some heavy breathing (sorry if it annoys you). My mental health is improving, getting out on my Kymco AK 550 helps.
    If you are experiencing mental health issues like me, please get help.

    Hi Rider Guy, thanks for your vids. I'm currently riding a Yamaha Majesty 400, rode sportbikes for decades, and I really like my Majesty. But. I'm looking for something with more punch, and leans over well, so it's an AK550 or a used Tmax. How's the reliability with your AK so far? All of the reviews, save one, say it's a fantastic scoot. I suffer from major depressive disorder, with my PTSD, on disability for it, actually, just getting out and riding helps. But I've found, 'stuff ' doesn't fix depression. New bike, new car, new girlfriend, new job, new gun; short term happiness. God knows I've tried. Talking about it helps. Medication, sometimes. If you don't have a therapist, consider it. Good luck homie. Edit; WOW. I'm sorry, I just now read your channel description. I understand the VA sucks, but do your best to make them cover it. I'm sorry. Spent 8 non combat years in, 11B and 45K. My issues are non service related, childhood shit. Best of luck...

      Thanks, I like the AK550. I had one problem after a year I got a coolant leak. It was covered and repaired under warranty. Only downside was that I had to wait to get parts. Depression is one of those things we all try to beat. I think I have come to a point where I will have to just live with it.

    Hey Peter...there is a saying "You never see a motorcycle parked in front of a psychiatrist office." While that isn't 100% true, it does indicate the calming feeling of riding.
    I was curious as to the filing of the MSR because of the recovery adapter on California gas pumps. I see you held that cover up.
    About 20? years ago was my first encounter with those and it took me several minutes to figure out how to fill my scooter.
    Now you got Kimberly outfitted for an adventure. Head over to Oatman on Rte 66 and visit the donkeys 😃

      Will ride with you one day for sure, that is on my bucket list. I was curious about the California pups as well and wanted to test it. I got it about 75%.

    Dude! How'd you get that Kymco top case bracket?? Ive only seen one on ebay for like $500. How does your side Shad bags connect to bike with the Kymco bracket? That's a good set up.

      I bought mine from taiwanbigscootershop.com/collections/ak550/products/kymco-oem-ak550-aluminum-rear-carrier and then use the Shad 3p to connect the side cases. I had to do some customization. Shad makes a complete set to connect the cases for the Kymco AK 550 www.shadusa.com/products/ak-550-17-21-3p-system-mount with this one you don’t have to customize.

      @@RiderGuy Woww, how'd I never see that link. Thanks!! I'll look into shad, the bar mounts look ugly to me. I like how you got yours set up better.

    Where did you get the fuel tube holders? What size are they?

    Curious as well how these little bottles got filled, since you can't just go and look at one now days. Was wondering if you needed a funnel.
    Little fill suggestion, I do this with Jerry cans, take a 20L jerry for example, start your fill with the Jerry, watch the pump for 20L .... go slow near the top and no spill, no guess, no match down the hole to see where your at!
    Thank for the vid! :)

    Hello,
    Where did you get the round little round mirrors from? Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed watching.

    • @Scootphoria
      @Scootphoria Год назад +3

      You can get 2" spot mirrors from any autoparts place. The smaller 1" sport mirrors can be purchased at Cycle Gear.

      Willa gave good answer. Any auto part store for the 2 inch. You can also get from Amazon, I paid 6 bucks for the ones I have so don’t pay too much.

    Just curious as to where you purchased the bottle holders .I currently have mine in my saddle bag but would rather have them separately. I've always filled my at home with gas can they are for emergencies so never filled at the station, will try next time.

      I like them since the fuel is contained in its own compartment. Here is the link to the one I have, you can get a smaller one as well. So how many ounces is 75% of bottle?

    • @RiderGuy
      @RiderGuy  Год назад +1

      There is a fill line that is not counter as part of the 32 oz bottle. I got about 28 oz in it, I measured after I got home. This is a good solution in case of an emergency to get you a few extra miles.
