Running low on Life's Better With Horsepower shirts, so get yours now if you want to make sure you get your size! Keytags, stickers, and reservoir covers available as well :) motonosity.com
Motonosity you can exualy push start a cvt engine we do it all the time becaus we dont have a cover and no startermoter becaus we want save weith and every pound counts the ting you do (we made a tool for it) stick a screwdriver threu the clutch housing and jam it in the clutch then you push the bike and wen it starts the screwdriver flys out and it runs
I had a quad with a GY6 engine in it and the coil weren't charging enough current to charge the battery up. It slowly died out, so I installed a coil from a car. God knows what kind of brand it came out of. I'd bought it from a second hand store. xD It worked tho.
That was ridiculously hipster, though. Custom café racer style scooter with a Starbucks coffee, wearing a flannel shirt (jacket). All you really need is a beard. What an Austinite.
I had my first group ride today on my CBR500, and I felt incredibly intimidated. Since I'm fairly new with motorcycles, I was struggling to keep up, and it made me feel pathetic. Thankfully your videos always have a way to make me feel much better and I want to thank you for that. I hope nothing is wrong with your ruckus!
Tyler From Texas dont be intimidated most riders accept it if you just make clear guys ive never done a group ride and most people will stay with you and circle around you or just drive next to you so people wont come blasting by and you wont get seperated of the group most people respect it if you just make clear youre new and find it a bit scary
That's the same thing they told me, and they completely understand. It's definitely something that, with enough riding and practice, I can keep up with them with no issues.
most people aren't gonna think of the fact you had to walk ahead of the Rukus, set up the camera, and then push the rukus up to your yard and all that. haha
I think that, since you have a larger piston in there, and presumably more compression, your starter is having to work harder to turn the engine over, so if it doesn't catch immediately, it drains. It could also be your battery.
Ah, repping that Austin lifestyle. I'm surprised you're riding in this weather. I made it 150 feet yesterday, turned around, and hopped in the car. Also, RIP alternator. You need to hook up a voltmeter and check the battery voltage with the key on, not running, and compare it to the voltage of the battery with the engine running
the ruckus is just a chill moped 😂 you can drink coffee have a nice day and get stuck in the drive trough... but at least its lighter than the crf to walk 😂
The Ruckus seems like a perfect test bike for those magnetic Red Light Trippers, adding a steel skidplate, etc. Sitting at the drive through being ignored made me think about it as many use the same trigger as stop lights.
Hey motonosity! Before you start the bike check the voltage with a multimeter and then start the bike and check it again!!! I had an issue with the battery charging on my gy6 ruckus when I finished the swap! I think it ended up being wiring like a loose connection or ground! Good luck and ruck out👍🏻😁
I really enjoy the Ruckus videos. Mine would do the same thing. I eventually installed a connector outside the box to trickle charge the battery each night. The battery is very small for these bikes.
Something I have never been able to overcome with my 150 swap is the electrical side of it. The 150 I have which is a TMEC 150 GY6 Short case can only produce enough power to run the lights but not a starter. My solution is just to leave it on a trickle charge every night, but I left the kickstarter on. Looks kinda dumb, but its handy. The old Gy6 50cc I had in it before never failed to start on its own.
The battery is not dead. you need to get one that has a higher cold cranking amps since you have the big bore kit and when engines get hot they gain compression so its not allowing it to crank over fast enough to start due to way to high of compression and that battery was made for a 50cc engine not a 171ccx
if you put a screw driver through your clutch cover to block the clutch you can roll start a cvt. if the clutch is blocked the belt will turn the crankshaft
idk that much about your motor but, a suggestion would be to go from nutral then shift to first while your rolling but idk if that works for your motor
Damn dude, that sucks! At least it wasn't a blazing summer day. My F4i Broke down in August and I was pushing it home, hardest part was getting it over a bridge lol.
If you have some rope, twin, string, etc on you you can rap it around you primary clutch and pull start the engine. Thats what we do when the pull start snaps on a snowmobile. With an engine that small i bet you can spin it by hand and start it.
Could be you forgot to take it off choke and it flooded the engine.... or the Alternator/Rectifier wasn't charging the battery. If the carb flooded the engine then best to remove the spark plug and crank it to clear the cylinder. Then put the spark plug back in and try to start it properly. If you don't remove it first then you could knacker the engine if it goes through the piston stroke (ooer) with a pool of fuel sitting on top of the piston crown. Can't compress liquid, so it'll bend internal bits. If the choke was off then it'll probably be the Rectifier. It sounded a bit rough before like it wasn't getting enough spark.
I am pretty sure you could have still roll started it. You roll the bike fairly fast. Jump on and bounce on it too create compression. Its worked for me on little 150cc 4 stroke motorbikes that the kickstarter levers were broken. Not sure about your motor as I wouldnt have a clue but i thought they were all similar
You actually can push start a cvt scooter, just put a screwdriver between the clutchhousing and the clutch. Don't forget to take cover when it starts though.
If your battery is dead it is most likely a charging system issue. hook up your multimeter to the battery and see if you are getting at least 13v with a little bit of rev. if it does not go above 12.6 ish then you have a charging system issue
very great contant man!! you make great videos. i hope you keep daily uploading... btw, i love your ruck. its rucktastic. people up in canada love watching you.
needs a good tune ey... I'd look at checking your jets as well. sound like my ruckus I had and did a huge load of mods too, same as my piagio and PGO. I did the jets and did a few other things to get the idle to run smoother and also if the carb you have has the air fuel mixture screw. keep up the good vids man
What?! Not even a comment on that clean 911? Please tell me you at least thought "Nice air-cooled vintage Porsche" And flat batteries suck... I was thinking about riding today... Nope... Battery dead, completely dead... So it's charging. Hopefully it will hold a charge, if not I am out a little money for a new one. The bike's way of getting back at me for not riding her as much as I should!
First of all, If it only runs on the choke, you need more gasoline through your carborateur, just go like 1 or 2 steps higher. Second, sometimes its possible to put a screwdriver in the clutch and then you can just roll start it! Be warned, the screwdriver shoots out when the motor is running.
Ugh... that abysmal feeling of a bike that won't start. Great job conveying that awful feeling, not that I ever wanted to experience it again. I nabbed up an external jumpstart battery for such occasions ;-)
-- Starbucks: 1) "Can I get . . ." (am you able to get)? 2) Riding (driving) in or on any vehicle with cup (or anything else) in hand is asking for BIG TROUBLE! 3) Twenty minutes is a long walk . . . what, one mile? 4) Ah youth!
Went to the international motorcycle show today in Cleveland and bought just what you need, a mini jump pack and USB charger. 200 amp jump and 400 amp peak made in USA claims to be the worlds smallest. If I was in your shoes it would be the best $69 ever spent. About the size of a smart phone. I'm more convinced than ever that it'll be a smart addition to my tank bag.
How do you know that impact wrench actually tightens your nuts to the right torque? Impact socket or not doesn't matter as long as the socket doesn't break. I bet that torque gun is set too low and that's why the nut came loose. You should buy or borrow a real impact wrench, set it to correct torque for that nut and do it by hand.
I live in San Antonio Tx, is there any were in Austin that I could get Ruckus pre built or half mod? Watching your videos made me see how difficult it can be and I don’t have a full garage to do all that you did. Any help is appreciated.
Seems your charging system has a problem , most likely your reg/rectifier , either bad ground from painting or just gone bad , you charge your battery as much as you want but as you ride your accessories will drain it , With it running throw a multi meter on the batt , should be reading near 14v while revving a little , if it's around 12v you most likely have a problem ,good luck

Motonosity put a cup holder on the ruckus 👌

Still waiting for my order, so excited!

Motonosity how do I get it in my mouth.
that's what she said. lol haha

Hahaha :')
and to beat everything his bike broke down in true cafe racer style lol
kiraanimerawr1 🚫🚫hey can you please check out my hondas in Idaho video ? It would mean a lot ! 🚫🚫
Don't forget to add vegan/vegetarian
John Smith, totally forgot he was that also! haha
my battery died in the drive thru before it was cool 😎
Do It With Dan wow ur hip af
I remember that video
Do It With Dan I remember that at the Taco Bell lol
I had my first group ride today on my CBR500, and I felt incredibly intimidated. Since I'm fairly new with motorcycles, I was struggling to keep up, and it made me feel pathetic. Thankfully your videos always have a way to make me feel much better and I want to thank you for that. I hope nothing is wrong with your ruckus!
+Tyler From Texas Ride your own ride! Don't feel pressured to keep up. That's how people get hurt. Stay safe!
Tyler From Texas dont be intimidated most riders accept it if you just make clear guys ive never done a group ride and most people will stay with you and circle around you or just drive next to you so people wont come blasting by and you wont get seperated of the group most people respect it if you just make clear youre new and find it a bit scary

Tyler From Texas yes so next time just tell them and the will understand the have been there themselfs
I wouldn't stress about it, get comfortable with your bike first, other than that be safe! us riders are a pretty chill group ( usually)
Add a Cup holder or a basket to the front of the ruckus. 😂
most people aren't gonna think of the fact you had to walk ahead of the Rukus, set up the camera, and then push the rukus up to your yard and all that. haha
Yamahobbit yeah I thought of that too haha
I made few videos and motonosity works hard on his videos you can see that.
LITERALLY I SAID THAT TO MYSELF AND I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD AT THAT SHOT, I feel validated by your comment lol
I thought the same thing 😂
You should make a custom key tag that's silver with blue text and red logo to match the ruckus
that sounds dope. i would buy that.
damn Brash, i like that! Moto, do eet!
BrashLight Yea!
BrashLight y e s
* walks ruckus miles home *
* goes to gym after *
few miles aint nothing
Michigander ruckus's aren't heavy at all lol
*Leaves helmet on the whole time*
Most people in America are too fat to go to the gym especially after something like that
the walking would only count as a leg day. can still get in some lifts while ur legs are dead
The dedication to park the bike, walk up to your doorstep and place the camera. All for a cool triumphant moment.
5:20 savage motonosity runs stop sign. 😆
Ruckus comes with a cup holder y'all! 😂😂 I loved the walking yourself through the straw situation. Everyone mental conversations 😂👌
make a cupholder on the headlight frame!
I think that, since you have a larger piston in there, and presumably more compression, your starter is having to work harder to turn the engine over, so if it doesn't catch immediately, it drains. It could also be your battery.
I can't believe you put boosie in the video 😂. I knew i subbed for a reason
+Daequawn Atchison hahaha little throwback for ya
7:25 the bike isn't heavy enough bro for the sensor. I go through that at red lights all the time.
Ah, repping that Austin lifestyle. I'm surprised you're riding in this weather. I made it 150 feet yesterday, turned around, and hopped in the car.
Also, RIP alternator. You need to hook up a voltmeter and check the battery voltage with the key on, not running, and compare it to the voltage of the battery with the engine running
riding in what weather? we out here riding in 35 degrees up north.

Motonosity: Hello my animals
Wife: Hello!
🤣
the ruckus is just a chill moped 😂 you can drink coffee have a nice day and get stuck in the drive trough... but at least its lighter than the crf to walk 😂
LOL @ "I nearly didn't make it through here". nope, you sure didn't. 6:55
if it's the stock battery from before you replaced the engine, I'm assuming you need a new battery with more cranking amps.
Damn got that flannel, slammed ruckus and starbucks. You are the perfect Austin hipster! Hahahaha
Should have titled this video "DROPPED THE RUCKUS right when I got HOME!!"
The Ruckus seems like a perfect test bike for those magnetic Red Light Trippers, adding a steel skidplate, etc. Sitting at the drive through being ignored made me think about it as many use the same trigger as stop lights.
Ruckus didn't want you to eat crappy food before working out!! It literally just saved your butt!!
Around here, the cop would have checked every single mod and its official paper work and fined you hard for driving a bike like this.
5:20 this is good i got my coffee drives off and comletely runs the stop sign! LMAO
Hey motonosity! Before you start the bike check the voltage with a multimeter and then start the bike and check it again!!! I had an issue with the battery charging on my gy6 ruckus when I finished the swap! I think it ended up being wiring like a loose connection or ground! Good luck and ruck out👍🏻😁
These damn Ruckus videos are KILLING ME!!! LMAO!!!
I love the ruckus adventures and I love how calm you were when you broke down
Legit Pc that's riding especially when you tear down a motor and put in a new wire harness you have to do shakedown runs
You can roll start it. you need to put a metal rod or a screwdriver in the clutch Bell and then run its not good for it but is works
Your neighbors are going to call the cops on you one day.
neighbors : "Hello 911, there's a zombie on my neighbors lawn"
Try turning it on and then see if it's charging the battery at idle and at some revs with a voltmeter, might not be charging!
I really enjoy the Ruckus videos. Mine would do the same thing. I eventually installed a connector outside the box to trickle charge the battery each night. The battery is very small for these bikes.
Loved it! What a crack up! Informational and outright everyday fun!
"I'm feeling a little bit thirsty... I need a little bit pick me up" Lol'd
Pushing a Ruckus, no matter how cool, proves life truly is better with horsepower! 😂😂😋

GY6 Magneto's and Staters are notorious for the charging circuit to go out very quickly. Therefore your battery will almost never stay charged.

It is not just a cover... it brings stability for the whole motor... the variomatik case
greetings from germany, scootertuning country #1
idk that much about your motor but, a suggestion would be to go from nutral then shift to first while your rolling but idk if that works for your motor
Damn dude, that sucks! At least it wasn't a blazing summer day. My F4i Broke down in August and I was pushing it home, hardest part was getting it over a bridge lol.
nice video man...haven't seen a actual motovlog from you in quite a while
If you have some rope, twin, string, etc on you you can rap it around you primary clutch and pull start the engine. Thats what we do when the pull start snaps on a snowmobile. With an engine that small i bet you can spin it by hand and start it.
since you have a rocket, supermoto and a ruckus is there future plans for a bobber or Harley? keep up the good work!
Nick Simerson HARLEY DYNA!
Savage Moto I fell in love with new 2017 lowrider with that 110
Nick Simerson I think he should make an FZ-07 bobber, would be super custom and cool!
Could be you forgot to take it off choke and it flooded the engine.... or the Alternator/Rectifier wasn't charging the battery.
If the carb flooded the engine then best to remove the spark plug and crank it to clear the cylinder.

Well did it start up the next day? Just wondering
Bren _613 yep

Its worked for me on little 150cc 4 stroke motorbikes that the kickstarter levers were broken. Not sure about your motor as I wouldnt have a clue but i thought they were all similar
You can't roll start these because you can't bump it into gear. It's a CVT
Got your leg day in, burning hamstrings for the win. There it's a cafe racer joke with Starbucks drive thru somewhere in there.
most hipster thing ever. the flannel, scooter, and Starbucks😂😂😂
3:12 Thanks for reminding me to get my energy drink out of the freezer.
"I'm going to go to the gym today" RUCKUS BREAKS DOWN IN DRIVE-THRU!
You can still bump start it, just turn the engine side of the cvt with the engine and it will fire right up
You actually can push start a cvt scooter, just put a screwdriver between the clutchhousing and the clutch. Don't forget to take cover when it starts though.
It sounded weak when you started it at starbucks, too. I noticed that earlier in the vid.
Sounds like it's just not charging, guess we'll see!
If your battery is dead it is most likely a charging system issue. hook up your multimeter to the battery and see if you are getting at least 13v with a little bit of rev. if it does not go above 12.6 ish then you have a charging system issue
very great contant man!! you make great videos. i hope you keep daily uploading... btw, i love your ruck. its rucktastic. people up in canada love watching you.
preciate that man!
that cvt cover looks good but i recommend a solid one. it will help prevent your swingarm from cracking. seen it 100 times.
what carb are you using???
I feel your pain, I broke my CVT belt today. Lucky for me a friend drove by and we towed it with a rope.
If it's not charging correctly that could be causing high idle issue. My KFX 450 did that when had a lose battery cable
There is a drive through Torchys on Spicewood!
needs a good tune ey... I'd look at checking your jets as well. sound like my ruckus I had and did a huge load of mods too, same as my piagio and PGO. I did the jets and did a few other things to get the idle to run smoother and also if the carb you have has the air fuel mixture screw. keep up the good vids man
Scooter with a cupholder? Now I want one.
probably bad stator. but you should upgrade the battery since you have a 150 with a big bore if you didn't already.
What?! Not even a comment on that clean 911? Please tell me you at least thought "Nice air-cooled vintage Porsche"
And flat batteries suck... I was thinking about riding today... Nope... Battery dead, completely dead... So it's charging. Hopefully it will hold a charge, if not I am out a little money for a new one. The bike's way of getting back at me for not riding her as much as I should!
Hands down my favorite motovlogger
carry a lawnmower pullstart rope you can wrap it around the drive clutch and pull start bike. used to carry a rope to pullstart snowmobiles.
Dr. Pulley Slider are the bee's knees !!
First of all, If it only runs on the choke, you need more gasoline through your carborateur, just go like 1 or 2 steps higher. Second, sometimes its possible to put a screwdriver in the clutch and then you can just roll start it! Be warned, the screwdriver shoots out when the motor is running.
*First drive thru* "pftt clickbait..." *Second drive thru* "ohh....did he get his fries?"
I think i know that shopping center. Wolf Ranch? i only live like 50ish miles from there.
That getting home scene was amazing xD
you could have tied a rope around the primary, and try to have pull started it. I've done that before on my snowmobile, and it worked.
Sounds like the ruckus has the same issue as the kg10sa gy6 kymco varient had with the Bendix.
That's what happens when you turn Honda (Japanese) quality, into a Chinese type. I know because I've owned a Lifan motorcycle for years.
Didn't that ruckus basically piss itself when you dropped it? Rip paint? Carblife is stronk
Cubize - CS:GO and more! it was on the pegs
Yeah Buddy I feel your pain on that shit, Lord knows I've
Had to push mine a few times!
Do you live near cedar park? Because every time I'm in town, that's the torchys I eat at.
Ugh... that abysmal feeling of a bike that won't start. Great job conveying that awful feeling, not that I ever wanted to experience it again. I nabbed up an external jumpstart battery for such occasions ;-)
Just shared with the wife and noticed the magnetic car pickup lines in the drive thru... so close, yet so far :-(
Did you make sure the camshaft was properly timed up with the crankshaft?
RUCKUS is the type of bike to have a cup holder on it... :D
I want some shirts ,motoishitty and doitwithdumbass. You know its funny.
-- Starbucks: 1) "Can I get . . ." (am you able to get)?

4) Ah youth!
Can you please do more videos on the 450? We want to see more of it!
You should totally install a cup holder on the Ruckus :P Have it mount right in front of the battery box.
riding a scooter with an iced coffee with almond milk... you damn hipster hahaha
With any awesome ruck build, you definitely should add a cup holder
Went to the international motorcycle show today in Cleveland and bought just what you need, a mini jump pack and USB charger. 200 amp jump and 400 amp peak made in USA claims to be the worlds smallest. If I was in your shoes it would be the best $69 ever spent. About the size of a smart phone. I'm more convinced than ever that it'll be a smart addition to my tank bag.
Upgrade to 12 pole stator if you havent already and get a Volt meter for bike always necessary
Hey I know where that is. It's south Austin. I cant wait to see that bike driving around.
Cup holder! You truly have built the ultimate beast! ...... Except for the not starting bit, but lets not get caught up on the detail!
shhhhh ;)
Check your rectifier ground, and stator, I'm sure by now you got it, but the Chinese stators/rectifiers are known to fail.
Moto, you always break down on your builds LOL
How do you know that impact wrench actually tightens your nuts to the right torque? Impact socket or not doesn't matter as long as the socket doesn't break. I bet that torque gun is set too low and that's why the nut came loose. You should buy or borrow a real impact wrench, set it to correct torque for that nut and do it by hand.
I live in San Antonio Tx, is there any were in Austin that I could get Ruckus pre built or half mod? Watching your videos made me see how difficult it can be and I don’t have a full garage to do all that you did. Any help is appreciated.
As always, liked the video before i even watch it😎
good to have kicker cover on, easy to kick start.
Aww poor guy, you should have had a subscriber tow you back home. We would have loved to help. I feel your pain. My Ruckus died at school one time.
Seems your charging system has a problem , most likely your reg/rectifier , either bad ground from painting or just gone bad , you charge your battery as much as you want but as you ride your accessories will drain it ,
With it running throw a multi meter on the batt , should be reading near 14v while revving a little , if it's around 12v you most likely have a problem ,good luck
Your welcome
