    not to make ham-handed ancient-modern comparison #21574 ...
...but it really does seem that the politics & particularly populism in Rome (particularly during the principate) are things we can most readily recognise & understand
ofc the ways in which it intersects with the religion of the state and other details, it starts to become harder for us to empathise, but the way to play to the passions & fears of the population, that never seems to change that much

Romulus and Remus is the Roman version of the PIE creation myth.
Manu and Yemo(twin), Yemo is sacrificed to create the world (It's flesh=earth, bones=stone, blood=water, brain=clouds), the sacred cow is turned into a wolf in the Roman version

I didn't expect Malcador to comment on my videos, but you'll be bumping about for a while before you got for world dominion!

Nice video! One comment, in Italian CH is pronounced K so the Gracchi brothers sounds like Grakki .... Cheers!

Thank you so much! I do struggle with pronouncing words and I try to do these as a single take but I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@@AlexIlesUK I will stop commenting on pronunciation if it is annoying rather than helpful.... Anyways, in Latin from what I remember from my highschool days the pronunciation would also be like a hard K.... Cheers keep up the very interesting content

@EugenioFilippi please don't worry, the fact you've said that means a lot. Some people can be really unpleasant about it and it frustrates me because they've not put hours into research and filming and put it out for everyone to see, but the fact you've said something politely means a lot! Aye on my walking tours I regularly say that we don't know exactly how Latin sounded but that Julius Caesar's name would have sounded like Gaius, Ilius, Kaiser.

We do indeed have a new king 👑 Charlie III, but we didn't elect him.
