Before I watched this I wholeheartedly said 'nope, would never do it'. I remember watching it on top gear years ago! But after seeing those views and hearing that most of the traffic has since been diverted, you may just have convinced me 😀It looks incredible.

I (Max) sit in the passenger seat and control it whilst Lee drives. The system works pretty well. The real hard part is stopping Occy realize we put the drone up because he goes ballistic if he knows 😂

I rode a mountain bike down that road, truly a remarkable experience. It’s better to go in November or December, it’s a much better experience, and the weather is stunning. Note: the elevation in Bolivia is 12000-15000 ft.! Breathing is labored even doing the most simplest of things, they do have oxygen tanks to rent, cheap, $10-$15 total for about 2-3 days, (small tank) but the deposit is $250 USD. Which they will return upon return of the tank.
Occy is my absolute favorite pup! I'm so happy he gets to enjoy adventures with you both.

I rode the Death Road on am MTB in 2016, what a great day. I recorded the ride on a GPS, the first 22km, on the highway, we rode in 30min, 44km/hr av (27mls/hr). At times the bike was touching on 60km/hr, I was the only one with a speedo and the others had no idea how fast we were moving. 5 mountain bikers, 4 road cyclists and 3 others who didn't regularly ride, we all survived.

The highway of death aka Sea to Sky in British Columbia is tame compared to that. But I still almost died there at age 11 when my grandma's window fogged up and she drove off the road. I was the only one who could get out of the car, at age 11.
I was on that road many times as a child in the 60's going from back forth from LA Paz to Caranvi. It's was beautiful drive all that way down but not for the faint of heart. Back then it was the only way to go. You had passing areas - the vehicle going driving down would stop on the cliffside as the vehicle driving up passed. A doctor we knew was stopped as a truck passed and his car was pushed off the side. Dangerous but beautiful!

The city roads far more dangerous. The mountain road was tranquil. Loved both the soft shawl from Lee and your sweater. Occy looked so soft and clean too. It’s weird because you know me not yet both of you have become familiar as good friends. I spend a little time with you every Sunday and it is quality time. I thought it was crazy in Mexico but Bolivia it's the people walking you have to watch out for. The death road was cool to see the views. I would never have been able to handle driving the death road or being a passenger. I think I would have been with Occy on the floor.

We did that road back in 1991 with my husband. Out on the back of a big truck. We weren’t prepared for the cold and how scary it was 😫 (for me anyway) So glad you got to see this beautiful place. Occy is such a trooper!!! Love you guys 🧡🧡🧡 Keep discovering 🎉

Thanks for another awesome Sunday with the Occy show feat Max and Lee. I wish I had someone to film my drives on backcountry roads in CO. I did a similar downhill bike run. After seeing the sunrise thru the volcano crater that is Mt. Haleakala in Hawaii. We geared up and rode down that mountain as fast as we dared. That was 30 years ago and I still remember it like yesterday. Keep on truckin'

I get motion sickness on windy roads unless I’m driving, including watching them on RUclips, but you timed your edits in such a way that it didn’t affect me. Well done. I didn’t have to fast forward like I’ve done on other similar vlogs. Highlights: mountain biking with Occy enjoying the mud puddles; beautiful vistas and storytelling with the fog clearing just in time; your lovely clothing from the region and well paced dialogue; I had to go back several times to catch your “3 feet” reference-perhaps use a stronger color than white and leave it in longer?-; King Occy and the two of you looked freshly groomed and buffed; I like the way you review your route occasionally. Looks like the hwy (#4) the ONLY ROUTE from Port Alberni to Tofino on Vancouver island. I'm always terrified to drive that. Now a huge new construction project is blasting the mountain to make the road wider and less deadly.

I could not be in the front on that road....my eyes would be closed the entire time! The traffic as well was crazy! I live in Las Vegas & travel to LA for drs visits & that traffic has the US beat! Awesome video though!
I just wanted to say that I am back again after a long break. I explained what was going on in a late reply to your mom about 4 videos back. My health has not been the greatest, but I'm on the mend. Stress is not good for my condition & my daughters accident sent me in to a bit of a tailspin for a few weeks. Now that I am on the mend, I just received more disheartening news. I don't want to go into too much details @ this time, but it involves my 2nd oldest son who is an Iraq war veteran. He has PTSD & some other issues from a virus he caught over there, but he is not doing well. So any prayers or good thoughts that you can send his way would be awesome. I'm really worried & that's not good for me.

And when I looked up you had Occy out of the van. I nearly passed out. Nope, give me that traffic any day. Am a west aussie living in Bali, so the traffic was sort of familiar. 😂😂

Not gonna lie, guys. I double-tapped fast forward a few times when you were standing too close to the edge of the drop off. My stomach dropped several times - and I’m perfectly safe in Washington state! 😂 But it really was beautiful scenery- fog and all. Also enjoyed the bike footage - and watching Occy once again aim for a mud puddle. It makes me laugh how much he seems to enjoy those.

We have similar roads here in AZ, when going from remote lake to remote lake. It terrifies me so I choose to add time to the trip by taking a highway there. There’s also a similar road in Reno Nevada, leading up to Virginia City. We took it all the time to go see my grandparents. I always got car sick 🤮
I reckon the streets of La Paz, that one would give me a touch of road rage.🤣.lol.whereas the other famous death road you can take your time and be very careful, mind you i think i would have a bit of anxiety.I wonder how many people would have known the term ''are you ready to hit the frog and toad''😉.lol.Great video,epic scenery, as always the editing is on point.I cant wait to see Bolivia.I'm so glad you have teamed up with another couple...excellent idea for many reasons, safety..company etc.Have an absolute blast ,love you guys,Take care..happy and safe travels ,from your Amigo from down under.Cheers.🤗
