OUROBOROS is an experimental horror animation that explores the cyclical nature of violence through a mix of digital animation and editing.
The project spanned about 12 weeks, beginning in January and wrapping up in early April. What started as a project aimed at testing out my editing skills slowly grew into something more and more dear to my heart and flourished into something well above what I had originally thought myself capable of.
The animation follows the actions of Loon, a hunter out traversing the wilds with her partner Crow. Their tense relationship and even more reactive choices begin to unravel as the world around them falls apart in tune with their descent into anger.

I love how at the end her pupils are sideways, showing how she feels like prey. As prey animals like goats have sideways pupils. I noticed that detail and it’s one of my favourites.

A truly intriguing little short. Incredibly cool bits like the blood creatures, the eyes in the birch trees, and the wolf thing behind the moon. I love the short simplicity, or how the blood standing out so clearly against the whites and greys. It indeed leave to to ponder the cycle of violence some find themselves trapped in. All and all it came out really well put together and cool.
This is so cool! I love how the birch trees look like they have eyes, and how the characters have sideways pupils (either to signify they’re prey or just a stylistic choice), I also really like how 2d the moon looks when the wolf is holding it, almost like a mask/prop, it really adds to the horror of it all!
This was gorgeous! The sound design, the animation, just chefs kiss! The vibe was so good too, felt so eerie watching it
Oh my godddd that was so cool! The editing, the movements, the action?! That was so awesome to watch! Something I thought of with the term Ouroboros; the Ouroboros is said to be a serpent/dragon that is eating its own tail. Many have said this to represent life, death, and rebirth. An endless cycle. There is a game called Inscription (I reccomend checking it out, it is basically a card game adventure) that has an Ouroboros card with an infinity symbol on it. If you play this card and it dies or is "discarded" from the playing deck, the Ouroboros returns into your deck but is stronger. I do not wish to spoil that game if no one has played it, and what I have said of it has no spoilers in it, but was just a thought I had from this incredible animation. Sorry for the random rambling, I just absolutely love mythological creatures^^ I love your animations, as well!
Oh this is really something else!! The atmosphere is chilling in all the right ways, and the story is wonderful - I always really loved the imagery of the Ouroboros
The cold environment contrasts amazingly with the red, and the way it bleeds from cold forests to a very technological editing is flawless
I sat here with wide eyes through the entire thing. As always, your style looks absolutely stunning and even if the story wasn’t interesting (which it absolutely was holy shit) I could just stare at each shot for ages. Especially that aesthetic of blood on snow came across so well here- just MH- so satisfying. I already know that I‘m gonna rewatch this again and again if I‘m ever uninspired
Man, a lot about this is so intriguing, from the confusion I felt about howling birds, to realizing they where attracting the wolves for no clear reason, hell even to the “was it worth it?” Line, what was the wolf talking about? Invading their territory? Killing their kind? Maybe for killing their own friend (even if to put them out of their misery)? It’s so interesting and I feel it’d make a good movie or series, just saying, this is great and if make it into a comic or something, I would pay money to read it! Nice job!

THAT'S SO COOL. Like, actually. You have such a unique art style and your ability to portray emotions (and even more specifically the fear of knowing you can't win) makes this whole animation even better. Not to forget the sound design, like heck YEAH!! Hope you get to catch a break now after releasing this absolutely gorgeous piece of art!!

Really amazing work! Looks great! Somewhat gives me Cain and Abel vibes like they’ve been looping through the same events with the universe gradually degrading with each copy. Especially towards the end when they were lying on their back with the wide pupils and hat giving sort of goat features. Just my interpretation though. Regardless this is great work!
What an amazing short.
So, Story is, If i follow correctly:
Loon and Crow are Out hunting together at night During Winter, in what appears to be a forest. Especially Crow appears to Not particularly Like Loon, leading to her ignoring a Warning from Loon about the Tracks of wolves in the snow. As a result, crow's horse is scared Off by one of them, throwing Crow to the ground and running Off. The Wolf bites Crow in the Leg, who bats it away with her Rifle before running away. Simultaneously, another Wolf bites at Loon's Leg, who's worse did Not throw her Off, leading to her Shooting the Wolf. After taking a Moment to calm herself down, she begins looking For Crow. She follows a trail of blood and Tracks, untill she discovers Crow badly injured, leaned up against a tree after having killed the Wolf pursuing her. After Standing infront of her For a Moment, loon decides to kill Crow, Shooting her in the head, perhaps in Revenge For all the Things Crow might have done to her. Just at this Moment, the Sky appears to Glitch Out into a bloodred Error Message, unsettlimg and distracting Loon. A skinless Wolf Then emerges from the Pool of blood Crow left, biting Loon in the shoulder and tearing a significant chunk of meat Off of it. As Loon runs in panic, the Wolf appears to Grow skin and fur During several glitches. Loon eventually slides halfway down a Hillside During her panicked Sprint, where she lays and rests, staring up at the moon. An entity appears to emerge from behind the moon, questioning Loon as to wether "it", likely the murder of Crow, was Worth it, or moral. Several more glitches occur, seemingly displaying a wireframe model of the Landscape, and the entity, now merely Holding the Moin as a flat Disk infront of it, continues demanding an answer from Loon. Loon, heavily injured, eventually bleeds Out, appearing Not to have answered the entity's questions before she died. Another skinless Wolf emerges from her bloodpool.

This is honestly one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. This definitely deserves more recondition, it's clear how much time you put into this! All the small details, and the captivating story, it's amazing! I can't believe you're so talented!
ARGH GOD THERE ARE SO MANY WONDERFUL DETAILS IN THIS I COULD GUSH FOR HOURS.
I think the absolute biggest thing that stood out to me was the sound design, how it's just a little bit muted except for the sharp pops when the gun goes off. The crunchy sounds of the snow when it's compressed, the fucking BREATHING, the distorted sounds of the wolves, the birdcall that sounds like a tinny wolf howl, gah it's all so fucking good!
And the markings on the birch trees that turn to eyes after Loon shoots Crow!!! Amazing phenomenal spectacular!
Yoo my dude, this is an amazing short! Animation? Wonderful. Symbolism? On point. Storytelling? Spoopy and mysterious (mostly in terms of how the world is glitching/who the wolf is), but also clear as to what's happening. Overall: excellent, I adore this short!

You've been one of my biggest inspirations and I'm just really happy to see that you enjoyed making this! 2020 was hard for all of us, so I'm glad to see you popping back! I hope you continue to enjoy making videos, cause as long as you're happy with what you're doing, the rest of us will be just as happy!This looks absolutely astounding!!! I'm so happy you got to finish this and be so proud of it because you should be proud !!!! understand that motivation can be hard to come by sometimes and the situation our world is in right now isn't helping that one bit . It hit me really hard seeing how much you were struggling to make content you loved because I'm in the same boat and I related hard to what you were/are going through . I know I don't comment on your videos, but every single one of them gives me motivation and inspires me to keep trying my best. Whoever kills or commits a violent act against that wolf, will be doomed. that said person would eventually become one of those wolves, full of violence and anger. and the loop continues.
obv this a a quick summary and not exactly what I imagine but it's what I feel like is happening. and that's how it just loops and repeats

IT’S OUT! I really enjoyed this short, there’s nothing like it on the internet. I love how there’s a color palette of white, blackish-blue, and pink, and the quiet atmosphere suddenly interrupted adds to the experience. I’d like to see more animations like this on RUclips. Although I do wonder, why did Loon kill Crow?

This is absolutely beautiful! Such a great srt style and my god the way everything is animated is just so satisfying to look at! I love the sounds, the way everything moves and how the glitches just pop out in such an interesting way. I wish I could describe this in better words but it'd take me too long. Dude don't let the numbers get to ya, because this was a DELICIOUS video that everyone who watched it appreciates. While the sound composition could use a lil elbow grease (though I'm sure you fiddled with it for ages, you just need more experience), the animation itself was excellent! I found the colors, texture, and general cohesion to be just 👌👌👌
Also kudos for the shot at 1:20, that looks like it was a pain in the ass. Turned out great tho.

Damn it was super good it gave me the chicken skin! But I think a bit of undertone scary music would have made its bit spicier cause it seemed to lack something atmospheric and I think some scary undertone tunes beside the old tv sounds cool help spice it up a bit
