    If it's do or die, the fielder would be approaching the ball faster than shown here. If he's coming in faster, then he can't field the ball with the foot on the glove-hand side in front. It has to be the other foot. Try it and you'll see the fielder needs an extra step. So, if he needs an extra step, it's best to field the ball with the foot opposite the glove in front. This not only gives you time to gather yourself, it will also allow you to be more accurate and be able to add more power to the throw. Fielding the ball opposite the glove-hand side also makes it easier to bend over and to keep the ball in front of you in case of a bobble.

      I've found that fielding the ball with the opposite glove foot helps you get set for your throw more easily and keeps you in balance, glove side foot is still faster though.

    That's the complete opposite of a wide base.

      way more time using a wide base in the outfield. do r die means do it or fuck u the play meaning that you need to be athletic and not standing in a shit squat position
