My tee shirt says "too old to fight, too slow to run, but I can still shoot pretty darn good"
Love that!

Gotta get me one of those.
In Canada using a gun to defend yourself is illegal, only the government can do that, not the citizen. Therefore 'still being able to shoot' doesn't apply here because other than hunters and the odd sports shooter, nobody owns firearms up here, except the criminals.
@@viking670 😢. All I can use! well!! these days is bug! spray! I keep plenty on 🖐
Elderly, disabled... can wash dishes, sew, peel potatoes, quilt, cook....
That’s the ticket. Focus on the positive and make it work! 😅
I'd happily trade you a couple of hours of dishwashing and potato peeling for a couple of hours of hoeing and weeding!!
That's good skills that people will need when the power goes out.
Especially cooking is very important.
Sometimes we are not talking about Ol' Granny Walton though.
I am 70 and was diagnosed with cancer this past November. Old and worn out best describes me for sure. However never give up is my moto. I will not give up and will never bend a knee. God, family, country. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

When you start getting old and worn out you definitely start learning to work smarter and not harder
For sure!!
You can bet I've been caught convincing a few younger individuals into providing necessary help. For pay or trade in the form of training/teaching.

Agree 💯💯👍
Agree !
If we can't help and look after the elderly and disabled when the SHTF, what is the purpose of even calling ourselves Christians? We would have lost the plot.
We already don’t take care of the elderly and disabled well enough.
I agree but that's also really difficult sometimes. My father in law will be passing away in a few days ( I'm happy for him to be going Home ) However, my mother in law, with level 8 dementia will be difficult to care for if SHTF happens and the workers and nurses no longer show up to her facility. We'll have to find a way to get her to my house ( 30 miles away ) and she's wheelchair bound, on a catheter , uses diapers for other things, and can't feed herself or shower. I'm trying to gear myself up for possibly taking her on but whew ! - it's going to take ALOT ! Seriously, I have a hard enough time cleaning up dog poop - I gag and throw up. Taking care of a disabled person .... that's a whole nother level. I'm not a CNA for a reason. Sometimes taking people in is easier said than done.
Thank you for saying that I’m 72 still hanging on. Live alone and maybe a little slower but I keep going. 🙏🏻
@@libertyandjustus8258 Those of us who take this seriously have no misgivings about any of the coming changes being easy. In fact, we know that most of it will be very hard. All of of our lives will be profoundly changed. Quality of life as we know it will be for the most part...gone. We're all going to have to learn to adapt to the changes and do the best we can. Taking care of an elderly person with dementia by yourself will be a challenge. Perhaps a friend or neighbor in the community can help if you do take her in. I was not aware that there were 8 stages. I always thought there were only 7.
I don't believe that SHTF is going to be a sudden and total collapse of everything everywhere all at once. That would lead to chaos that the 'powers' are unable to control, and the whole point of them doing what they're doing is to gain total control. Yes, there will be disruptions, disturbances, and worsening criminal activities, but we will still have order of some kind and people who want money will continue to show up for work into the foreseeable future, though they may be working with fewer resources. I think that the nursing home will continue to be there for a while.
@@libertyandjustus8258 I took care of my mother- in- law for years and her dementia was horrible. I got no help. She got placed in a nursing home. Then I got stuck with the father-in-law. But the moment they past, the vultures came running. You wouldn't have believed the demands they made and expected. I am still disgusted with their behavior.
Shalom ! I'm 60 yrs old. Knees blown out. Can't run and drop into a prone firing position, but I can take care of my livestock and gardens. I can still fell trees and cut firewood. I can build and provide maintenance. I just have to do pretty much everything at my pace. I put no stock in the future of this country or society. Praise God for salvation through Yeshua Messiah !!! I hear you. 63 and so damn tired of the aches and pains. I still garden some, mow and take care of chickens. Everything takes longer and if not pain that day, I feel it the next. Definitely is depressing.
I am gimping along too but still walking although I need a cane or walker. When anyone says take your time I just chuckle and say that's all I can do. It"s hard to accept the limitations and all the extra time to get things done or almost done but please keep on going and do what you can and let the rest go for another day. 65, was a blue collar guy my entire life. Yes, it’s the mileage. But, I’m still ornery enough to take care of buisness even though my body says ouch.
Disabled for 24 years after on the job broken spine, fighting is required for folks in this category, thank God for his Grace everymoment of the day. Now with my wife of 34 years Disabled and suffering dementia, life is simply surviving daily. And its damn hard! Good pensions make the difference for us but for folks with only SS Lord I can't imagine how y'all are surviving? Especially with the demoncrats economy and self destruction policies. I feel devastated for the youth of our country, it's like all of the sacrifices of those who came before we're all for nought. I pray fervently for our Father to send the Savior and take us home while dad cleanses the earth again. This planet is covered in Darkness and so is our country, and the Lord is the world's only hope. 🙏 I feel like this anyway. Pharmaceuticals are not the answer to our problems, hell we don't even make/produce our own medications, God only knows what the Chinese and Indians are peddling? I wish everyone would try to bring as many souls to Christ as they can before time is up. Good luck to all of my brothers and sisters in Christ.
72 years, you just have to work around your limitations! If your trigger finger works, you are still viable as a warrior!
Sciatica certainly slows you down at 72. But God will help Us 🙏
Haha that’s just one of my problems, my trigger finger doesn’t work dependably
I can provide trustworthy armed security while you and your family sleep soundly at night. There value in that skill.😊 stay safe folks.

I am 72 years old . My advice is stay active but know and except that you can’t do as much as you could when younger. Pace yourself…. Be patient with yourself and learn to say “no”. Remember , as Christians we have a new body and a wonderful new world coming! You can always pray , you can always model Christ’s love to those around you no matter how old you are!
Exactly. I'm now in my late 60's, ride an eBike almost daily weather permitting. I stay off junk foods, sugar drinks and get outside, in the sun for a bit. I've never smoked and stopped drinking years ago, I'm hoping that all helps. Lastly a positive attitude works wonders, and that attitude, as least for me comes from my relationship with Jesus.
72 here totally agree. Luckily I don’t look my age and I try to act younger. Laughter is so important. And being close to The Lord.🙏🏻🙏🏻
That’s been the hardest thing for me to accept. My mind says “let’s do this!”….my body says ouch.

74. I have limitations, but God has been good. My stamina is not what it was, but I can still build things, get my own feed (50 lb bags), and move the hay 100-110 lb bales from my truck to the hay area. Can no longer stack them higher than 3 bales, but...🤷♀️

I remember making my own dress or skirt from flour sacs. Had garden for veggies, which we canned, and hunted for our meat, and had chickens for eggs and then meat when they got to old to be egg producers.
They were the greatest generation.
This is the first generation I've seen where there is open, physical hostility toward elders....Sadly, elders have been the reservoir of knowledge since the earliest human societies began.

Right there with you. 67 as well.
Add me to the list of 67 year olds.1956 was a good year. I'm as prepped as I can be and stay fairly active, but have aches every day due to 42 years of railroad construction work. I'm still able to maintain my house and property, even get out in the woods to go hunting. I just worry about what will happen when I can no longer deal with this and that day will surely come for all of us that live long enough.
I just turned 68. I'm definitely feeling it but still haven't slowed down at all.
Me too! I'm 64.

Most of the folks here are 40+ for sure. The younger generations don’t know better and don’t care about what is to come.
Sad but true.
Us older folk like to learn, but the younger folks already know it all.
There are a fair amount of young people who are aware. Somehow they just don’t fear as much as we do. They don’t remember the really good times that us older people had. But there are some thinkers and doers in these younger generations.
Hahaha! They think they are ushering in a platinum new age! Lol. Wait til they start living what's coming, too late to turn back for far to many already.
I've found this to be so true. My near 40 year old kids think nothing will happen. They don't prep and think I'm crazy for having stockpiles of everything.
Older people with skills are absolutely valuable when things collapse. I am always searching for older people with knowledge and experience.
the older folks KNOW things, and don,t get scared or nervous they cope with what they have and most come out FINE

I am 34 and worn out. Single mom of 2 kids, one has autism. I have DDD, scoliosis and arthritis. I spent a few weeks last month down in the back with bad spasms. Nothing is worse than getting stuck on the toilet unable to get up and having to call someone to help. I was too close to that it's not funny. WOW!!!! Awesome
Good morning, Travis. I am a prime example of what you are talking about today. I am 51 years old and overweight. But I have taken active steps to change that in my life. And this is the key, we have to make the change. If one is able change can happen. I know all about limitations. Using me as an example I was diagnosed with Diabetes, but I did not accept that diagnoses. God and I got together and with his help he has turned that around. I have been working hard to eat right, exercise, and change the way I think about myself and what I eat. I used to weigh in at 400 lbs., but now I am at 298 lbs. I once was diagnosed with Diabetes now things are normal. Why, because I changed my mind. It can happen, everyone is different but if we want to change, change starts with us. Just want to encourage others. Thank you, Travis, for this video today. Keep exercising and eating well everyone. Train, train, train. Stay Vigilant, Stay Prepared, Faith Is Our Shield!
Great job getting in shape. Stay with it.
Congratulations. Awesome.
Proud of you, Keep doing You.
Might want to check out jj the cpa. His channel is about accounting BUT he was overweight and made 4 changes in his life and is quite a healthy specimen now. You might enjoy watching his several episodes about his weight loss. Congrats on your changes.

At my age I am beginning to have body pains but you have to fight the mind. Just walk walking will do alot of help even if you are old. My neighbor is way older than me but everyday he walks. He looks really well for his age. Keep it up praying for all of you.
I'm 67. I'm in pretty good health. I'm a retired teacher. I can tutor/homeschool. I can teach Spanish. I can care for my 2 grandkids. I can sew.
Our purpose might just be to share a good attitude, spiritual guidance, a loving hug, general support for those who are physically working hard and mentally worn down. We older folks need not be a burden mentally on those around us. Practice no whining and no guilt trips on loved ones and friends. We shall Rejoice and be glad!
Beautiful way to look at life as an older person. Thanks. BTW, I'm 78. Diane

My parents are both 80 this year. He's a pastor who speaks 14 languages, she's taught from preschool to high school. My in-laws are a few years older yet. He's been in construction most of his life, she's another school teacher. They'll be fine.
I'm 70, no body replacements yet, unlike my younger friends. I exercise but within reason. "A man's got to know his limitations. "
Worked my knee to the bone 35 years in restaurants. Can't do it anymore. Homesteader now, at least I can feed myself.
So... Here's my presentation. My wife and I are 56 & 57. I am handicapped, (lost one leg below the knee) . My wife is disabled. She lost the tips of some of her fingers due to gangrene and she has fibromyalgia. I am retired army and forcibly retired truck driver. My wife is a retired cook who is more comfortable cooking for many people rather than just me and her. I don't see us as being on the front line kind of thing but I can hunt, train and operate as back up as well as doing a few other things. My wife can sew and do other things as well. The words give up don't exist for us. At the moment, due to finances, we are not prepped up yet. Emphasis on yet. However, we do feel that we would be an asset to whatever community we end up in.
The older I Get, the younger I used to be lol.

My mom felt that if something like what we prep for was to go down that she would be in the way.. I tried to explain to her that there is a job for everyone.. even a guy in a wheelchair can sit guard at the edge of the property.. we need Cooks when he teaches we need babysitters we need guards on the property we need to be guarded while you're farming.. just remember in a grid down situation there is a job for everyone..
If you're elderly or disabled, you can still be very valuable to a tribe. In addition to skills or education you may already have, you can do household chores, assist with watching kids, provide intercessary prayer. Perhaps most importantly, you can be a lookout for the tribe - taking shifts so others can rest. Just don't lie about what you can do or what you're willing to do, as the tribe would rely on you for survival.
I learned more skills from my grandparents than my parents. Im 61, last of 6 kids, all gone now. my parents were busy working. Grands have time to spend time teaching fishing, reading, cooking, music, sewing, canning, crocheting.fixing things, building things.
Other cultures value the elderly for their wisdom and knowledge. Life is a journey and when we are young we view time differently. I remember Dad telling me that first you think you know everything. Then, when you are 50, you realize there is so much you want to know but you will not live long enough to learn all of it. Right before he passed at 83, he said he wasn't ready yet. There was still some things he wanted to do.

A very important message for both older people and younger people- and vital. The belief that it’s normal to be irrelevant and not work and be a working member as a senior is simply cultural conditioning
its a sinister way to divide and conquer the family though isnt it....
Mom taught us kids to keep going, no matter what. I’m 71, she is 95 now and still lives on her own. It’s a struggle but she’s doing it.
#1 goal if you're older should be to share your knowledge and story. It may not be your fault, but to help make amends for the resentment that the young harbour as their future was taken from them, you putting an effort to ease or erase that will return ten fold in your favour when you really need it. Either mentor a young adult to increase the younger generations chances later on and your chances through the catastrophes that will befall us or write a memoir with everything you want to pass on to the next generations to help out.
"A noble effort Is when one plants a tree knowing they will not enjoy the shade it provides".
I'm caught in the middle seeing both sides, be the example of what needs to be in order to ensure that the future is not as grim as it could be, you owe it to the next generations as those before you have done for you.
My mom is 92 and still takes care of her lovely 2-story home and gets on well alone. She was a 65-year smoker, but kicked them after a bout with cancer. When I suggest that a smaller one-story would be better, she crooks her finger at me and says "Don't tell me what to do!" Love you, mom!

There are some friends at church that are also preppers, but we don’t actually have a “mag” because we are not geographically close. Thank you Travis, for all you do and all your information! I have learned so much from your channel and others. Prep like you’ll need it tomorrow…live like you’ll need a healthy mind, body, and spirit for many more years!
Gotta keep active. Yesterday I worked a full day, took the dog for a long walk in the woods, then split some cottonwood for this upcoming winter. THEN I had dinner with the family on the porch, enjoying the Alaska weather.
What part of Alaska?
I am old and worn out for sure.
Don’t give up. You’re worth more than you know. Reassess your abilities and use them to your advantage.
I'm old, crippled and can make a headshot at 1000 yards
Now there's a title this old Army vet can relate to! 😀 ....actually, I often wonder if at 58 I'm still capable of following through with the dream of selling my house, buying some land with a smaller house or build one and start a small homestead.....working the land is harder work then some realize!
Yes! We might just be a little slower but we can do it. I’m 57 and can wear out my adult children. I’m not as strong as I used to be but I’m much more stubborn. 😂
I'm almost 70 just do it in a small scale
@sherryschneider323 That's how I feel....things get sore faster and take longer to heal, but I'm also more stubborn now. I'm getting closer and closer to doing this and one of my biggest motivations is to set the example for my teenage sons. Things may or may not collapse in our lifetime, but they will eventually and teaching them more skills for them to use and/or pass on down the family line is what I think about often. That and create a more peaceful life for myself.
Hey at 68 I left the city and set up a homestead in the country on 90 acres. I’m 71 now. I am tired. But I’m working the land, learning to forage & fixed up the house with some carpentry help. Don’t give up. Oh and I am a woman doing this alone on earth but with the help of the father upstairs.
We're 59 and 60, and both disabled. Hubs is still working an outside job.
We knew our time of full productivity was coming to a close five years ago, so we started making changes around our place to help us as we age.
The elderly have a lifetime of knowledge to help the young avoid the snares of this world, as well as a lifetime of accumulated skills . Yes, advisors is the word, like you said. Thanks!
I find many young ones dont want to listen a lot of the time. I lost my grandfather over 58 years ago I loved that man he always had time to awnser all my questions and he was a kind and generous man. I learned a hell of a lot from him.
@@allangurr You we're fortunate to get to have that time with him. Both of my grandfather's were passed away by the time I was born. I look at pictures of them and try to imagine what it would have been like to be able to spend time with them.
@@Thetruthisstrangerthanfiction I agree am sure you would have loved your grand dads as I did
@@allangurr Thanks Allan and I am glad you got to be with your Grandfather for a while . Precious time for sure!
Some of us older ones will Outlast the younger ones promise you👊☝️🙏👀👂🤙
Getting up in the morning to face the day is half the battle. If you can still do that, you can do a little more. Pace yourself.
Yesterday I sort of came to terms with becoming a causality of war.
Just don't become a willing casualty. Never ever give up. Blessings.
Don’t forget your worth. Fight!
Brothers and sisters, I am 77 and the ol' body won't allow me to run through jungles anymore. However, my mind is still sharp, I am a certified welder and still pretty good at a few other things that being a Vietnam Veteran instilled in me. One other thing that is the most important, "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder I'll Be There".
The biggest problem for the elderly is property tax evictions.
I looked for a property with low property taxes. I was looking at a place that had $350.00 property tax but it was a large double wide with total electric. I knew I couldn't afford that so I got a place that the property tax was $700.00 but when we bought it they raised the taxes to $1,000.00 and it is a 1963 old single wide mobile home with broken pipes and no propane for the furnace and part of the electric outlets don't work.
@@gowest5145 that's the problem in the US... if you find a place where taxes are affordable, it's unliveable. That's why i chose rural Japan. Safe neighborhoods, healthy food, clean air.
@@gowest5145That sounds like greed on the town's part. I am sorry that this has happened to you. I own my home alone with the bank. My daughter and me went one year heating water in pans for bathing, etc until we could come up with $1700 for a hot water tank. Everything is just to expensive. My home owners insurance for the next year will be coming and I am holding my breath. Are you able to get a Mr. Buddy for heat? Take care and God bless.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My grandkids don’t care about old stories😂😂😂😂
When shtf, the grid goes down,
no more electricity or Internet and
they don't have tictoc to entertain
them... believe me, children will be
begging for your stories.
Start out with the good ones---ghost stories, funny stories, and anything exciting. That draws them in. You can add life experience and common sense later. I'm 75 and still remember the scary and exciting stuff I learned from my elders. I also remember the valuable things taught that only mattered to me once I started growing a little older.😊
Husband is 74 and pretty much worn out physically from hard work but we still try to keep going. I'm 63. We made raised garden beds to help out, we have chickens and goats. I have medical background as well. We have planned over the years for the worst and hope for the best. I do feel like we probably won't survive a total SHTF situation if we are on our own. My son lives about a mile up the road. Our home on a dead end road will be the place to be, so hopefully we can survive together. I feel like my husband and I still have a wealth of knowledge to pass on to our grandchildren.
A little at a time, keep moving forward and take breaks when needed.
I have 2 knee replacements and still doing all the farm chores. My 1st replacement was in 2014 and is starting to act up. I keep going though. My 2016 replacement is still good!
I need both limping around d in pain afraid of surgery hoping for divine healing
@@SherryPetree if I knew what I knew what I know now I would of never done it! Find a really good Chiropractor and you won't need surgery!
@pibblemama2824 thank you! I will start looking! My aunt who had replacements told me the same about never do the replacements!
It ain’t the miles, it’s the BUMPS!!
The older ones have knowledge. They can teach. The right things. There may be communities that want schooling. They can feed animals start seeds cook etc.
well I am 64 (today) so watch your self young buck lol... good video ..Even my Mag is getting older... we practice tactics just lower keyed.. we setup our security at our retreat differently and added younger kick butts to our group... The old fellas simply walk instead of run... cut wood slower ... do less stress chores... stand fire and radio watches.. The older ones are teaching the younger how to hunt fish grow our own foods etc.. can and process food.. heck even how to smoke fish.. we have found this builds bonds and makes connections stronger. OHHHHH almost forgot .. if need be I can still work the winches . drive the trucks and get away car..
old and worn out 🙋♀😆😆😆
Me too!
Me too! Lol
I thought I was just "Old and in the way".
You got me with this title!! How I'd describe myself.
I've been keeping the gas in my car full at all times. It's a small thing but it has helped get to a loved one who needed help faster twice in the last four months.
Travis, a few weeks ago, as a 73 year old woman, I jackhammered an 8'X8'X10" slab. I moved that 2 ton of concrete to the dump by hand. I also moved - set - and leveled a 10X8 shed from one yard to the other, with its four 500 lb slabs. I agree - our ability has a lot to do with mind over matter and preparing both our bodies and minds. Most of all, the key is to have a relationship with Yeshua/Jesus. He WILL, through the Holy Spirit, guide, teach, and assist us. He will even send help when we are at the end of ourselves. He will also send us to help others. Shalom & Ahava Y'all
You go girl! I'm just shy of 58 with fibromyalgia, and I was proud that I was able to shovel and move a ton of gravel this past 2 days (I'm paying for it today but it sure made me feel good mentally that I could do it!) You are amazing!
@@Rose-ht3xc Great job! Yes, challenging ourselves and succeeding is very rewarding. The sacrifice of discomfort is satisfying also.
You’re amazing.
@@Seekingthefacts4 Thanks, but no - just used to not having enough $ to pay someone. LOL!
Mind over matter doesn’t always work…..the body says enough is enough….i have worked physically demanding jobs all my life and my bones and joints say……I’ve had enough for the day…..I have to give my body a rest for about two days or so from over extending my body limitations……my motto is always pace yourself….do your jobs in stages…..weeding your garden in one day no longer works for me
I need to do sections at a time over several days…..
Been where you two are, Travis. Not so today!! 😂
I've prepared as best I can (am ALONE) and am prepping and praying.
I continue to pray for ALL LOST SOULS AND THE CHILDREN 🙏 💖
Will help others as direction by the Holy Spirit 🙏 🙏🙏
Stay well and be safe 🙏

Am old but determined
“I’m not as a good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was.”
Wish I could still say that😀. Even once is now out of the question.
At 78, with limited health issues, although I am dismayed at the effects of the policies which liberalism has had, the integrity of the processes of representative government being highly suspect, "one day at a time" is the reality, and self-reliance and independence are conditional. I won't be a soldier in a civil war against foreign, invader-criminals. But I will be supporting fellow, American citizens who will. Government is failing to provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, ensure domestic tranquility, or secure the blessings of liberty. This election of 2024 is about those things. Trump 2024!!
Last night Jeremiah babe in Palm Springs CA says Americans are obese and UN healthy but they need to eat better, move your body more. Like him or not he is spot on too 😂😂🎉😂
I watched him. For a bit. All about the collapse all the time. His voice kinda irks me. Pompous sounding.
I'm 67 and the only one left in my family
Hugs. Lots of hugs. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
❤️❤️ so hard
I'm in the same boat as you, 65, single lady in MN
If you give up, you’re done. I’m 60 with MS, but I get busy everyday, I agree there is worth in everyone that finds and uses their skills and does their best everyday and doesn’t give up. 👍
I'm older. Controls electrician. Can reload ammo, snipe to 800M, 12 years military experience, woods wise, survivalist. Mobility a factor. 2 replaced knees and lower lumbars are fusing. Wow, read like a resume!
I'm 63, fit and healthy. I train 5 times a week. My husband and I homestead and are raising another batch of kids (18 of them) from 1 year to 18.
