That is just amazing, just a beautiful truck old Henry would be very happy. OK I commented to quick when the truck came back with car in tow that was so cool to see.
As most people are aware, a great deal of towing is now done with flatbed trucks. At about 2:30 into the scan around, the boom and sheave wheel are shown. Around 1977, Holmes equipment produced the forerunner of today's flatbed tow trucks. The bed operation was very similar to the current units. Because the bed didn't have a boom and sheave wheel, the department of public safety wouldn't or couldn't certify the truck as a tow truck. I told my boss that if they wanted the truck to have a boom and sheave wheel, we should fabricate a small unit to set on the rear of the bed so the truck would have a "boom" even though it would not be a functional unit. He said he would rather have the definition changed than going for a loophole.
Greetings from U.S.A! Might I ask...what country are we filming in? The total lack of corrosion is amazing for a vehicle that sits outside. Even in our driest climates, there are problems. Your truck is stunning! Both the lack of abuse and the lack of rust make it a true time capsule. The only modern components I see are the alternator and tires! Very nicely shot video...Thanks for sharing....✌😊
Hi stumbled across this vid looking for a side valve V8 4 speed gearbox with a pto as I have one. New Zealand number plate & rhd so guessing correct. 👍
Dont be too surprised. The flathead V8 is a rugged reliable engine. It's also very torquey, great for pulling. They are easy to maintain and keep in good working order and they have pretty forgiving tolerances.
Beautiful tow truck wow
Sweet ride in fantastic condition!!!
Spectacular old machine !!!

Fantastic!!!
Is all good
Still has that whine in rearend. Like Old ford trucks.
It's not the diff it's the low gear in the gearbox, that's normal coz of the straight cut gears
the cab is a 1934
Surprised that the truck fires up. Surpirsed again that it can still tow cars even today.

Hopefully it lives in a shed or you'll get way too much patina ie rust
If so thats cheating. Ha Ha.
