    I appreciate both of your views on the integrity issues of fishing tournaments and agree with them. More people need to get on board with this and MLF and Bassmaster and tournament directors need to step up and do the right thing, even if the right thing is tough to do. It takes courage and maturity. Need more of it and this movement toward being a man and doing the right thing needs to spread and be contagious.

    Your absolutely correct ish! If someone wants you to say something cause they are a coward or scared they are just as guilty. As a tournament fisherman we need more of this more than ever! Thank you sir!!!!

    Most people dont want to rock the boat. If you are going to rock the boat and call someone out do it in the heat of the moment. I got screwed by a boater at a Federation 2 day. Guy borrowed a boat with a dead motor and brought 6 batteries to fish the Ct river. Needless to say I zeroed. Not knowing the rules I waited a couple weeks to make the compaint after the state team had been picked when I was club represtative at the Federation state meeting. Not only was there nothing anyone could have done but I looked awful stupid trying to make a case after the fact. The people that run trails are not detectives with time on their hands to chase down alleged claims. Make the complaint in front of the perp in the heat of the moment so he has a chance to offer a defence or forget about it.

    Amen, Ish. It seems there’s not a single major tournament that takes place lately without some form of drama. It’s really turned me off to tournament fishing, after I did it for many years. What happened to fishing because it’s fun and a way to connect with nature?

    • @devinwillis7787
      @devinwillis7787 7 месяцев назад

      People that want to have fun and enjoy nature mostly don’t enter a tournament. People that are competitive and want to win join

    • @spintowinstradic6067
      @spintowinstradic6067 7 месяцев назад

      @@devinwillis7787 That’s a false choice. And if it’s just winning, plenty other sports that pay much better LOL. But good luck this year!

    • @devinwillis7787
      @devinwillis7787 7 месяцев назад

      @@spintowinstradic6067 I mean yeah they pay more but people might like fishing. I don’t really care about the nature aspect of it. I could fish a lake in the middle of a city with factories surrounding it. I just like fishing.
      The drama surrounding the tournaments isn’t really that different than drama in other competitive sports. It’s common in things people devote their whole life to. In racing people were yelling at each other every week and people got into fights fairly frequently.

    It is honor and respect among fishermen. No matter which organization from the top tear to the Wednesday nighter type of tournament it is all the same. People think the are above the rules, black and white not the intent of the rule that is broken.

    Todd, kinda understand the hesitation in these cases, back in the day David Wharton didn’t want to take out a loan to pay his entry fees up front 55k and it seemingly changed his life for the worse (I do realize you likely know more about this than me) I do know he lost his boat deal and pretty much quit doing what he loved to do fish. Good conversation

    Reporting a break in the rules is the same as in golf. You are protecting the field by reporting a rules violation. It shouldn’t come back on the person reporting it. They didn’t break the rules

    People are hating on GMAN for telling Trey about the violation in front of DanO because he's in the media and that he's jealous of Trey. Personally I don't think you need to hide the fact that someone broke a rule from anyone, it is what it is. GMAN did the right thing point blank period and no way in hell he is jealous with 2 AOY's on his mantle and great sponsorships paying him.

    99% of fishermen are conservative minded people. Conservative people by nature keep there mouth shut and stay away from any spotlight most of the time. This applies to basically all things perceived in the world. Silent majority

    Rule breakers are rule breakers. People defending rule breakers most likely,
    “ Did not play well with others in school”
    It’s not rocket science just read and follow the rules. Be an adult and a “man” and self police your organization It’s not that hard!!!
