Something you've gotta do *this* season if you want to maximize development on guys like Sampson, Quarterman, and Makovicka: get some coaching points into the Motivator tree and get those offseason training boosts. We saw somewhat in this video that the only guys who are reaching their potential are those with low skill caps; guys like Colson and Staley still had room to grow when they graduated, and there are multi-year starters (like Jon Burns) who still haven't maxed out. The Miami dynasty on the other channel demonstrated just how important it is to a team's continuity to get those big offseason leaps for new guys who are stepping into starting roles (e.g. Marquise Lightfoot taking over for Armando Blount, who took over for Ruben Bain Jr.)-- it prevents the team from sliding into regression after stars graduate. Might be time for Buffalo to pivot towards that, especially now that Adam Cain has proven that he can *recruit* good players and now needs to show that he can consistently *develop* them.
I’d love to see Babineaux get some opportunities as a slot receiver. His medium and deep route running is bad but his CIT and Spec catch are ridiculous, and he’d be a great Rac guys
It took me about 2 weeks, but, I somehow managed to binge and catch up on this awesome series. The highs and lows of this series have been fun to watch. The last two post seasons have been less than ideal, but, sometimes that's just how luck falls. Gotta get the bad luck postseason monkey off your back, gotta win the MAC Championship and try to have a complete 12 game season without hiccups or seemingly falling apart in the biggest games of the season. This has been a wild ride and even though you're already on Year 6 in the series, the series still feels early, young and fresh and I'm excited to see more. This season certainly does feel more "post season success or bust" than any of the first 5 seasons and no, I'm not saying "College Football Playoffs", but, depending on what goes down in the Michigan game, 3rd game of the season, maybe I'll change my tune but time will tell. Good luck Cane, this season feels like one that can be monumental to the future of the Buffalo Bulls
That gem tight end N. Jarrel looks like one of those really good gem 4 star tight ends that can actually go past 81 overall, make sure u get that man 💯
I’d love to see a HB Pass trick play somewhere this year there’s a few plays where there is a wildcat or backwards pass. The plays are risky but maybe a blowout win could show us what Babineaux could do!
Poor Ray Elway. Never got a shot, but then again... was never going to get a shot if you understand that Cane needs a mobile QB to extend throwing windows as he simply does not have the timing, patience or (given the almost impossible amount of horrifically bad interceptions thrown, which makes many of us question if he is doing it on purpose...) understanding of passing windows.
With how strong the OL is and with how inexperienced the QB and WR Room is, I'd say this should primarily be a ground and pound offense. Burning clock and tiring out defenses should be the main gameplan. Most of the time playing against Big Ten teams the defense gets burnt bad when the offense isn't on the field long enough. While the defense is pretty solid, I think you're best chances in those tougher games with Michigan and SMU will require making sure the defense stays fresh for the whole game and hopefully minimize the talent disadvantage.
FYI sometimes cut players end up on teams after preseason is over and you aim to week 0. Check and see if cajuste ended up on a team. He might still not show up but it is possible
I've noticed that some of the players that were encouraged to transfer don't appear on rosters until a year later so it may be worth checking out next offseason
I love watching the lengthy live stream while gaming or cleaning and then sitting down and actually watching the recap seriously. I miss 70% of things the first go around haha
Given we are 69 episodes in already and there is still such a long way to go I hope that the pace will be picked up a bit. One game per episode is brutally slow now
@@Oxistradamus he MIGHT be like the #3-4 safety or a situational receiver situational receiver is a role that he has proved himself in so its stupid to move him to safety
It’s too late. The best time to change his position would’ve been after his sophomore year once we saw what his caps were. I’m at least glad that Cane admitted he had no plans to move him after all this time.
We all know Ogbonna is only starting because of nepotism. If he wasn't the younger brother of the best QB we've ever had, then Elway would be starting!
Can’t wait till you unlock the purple skill tree , the architect I believe, get them skill caps raised on your players. Also once you win 2 nattys you can get ceo & there’s one that raises caps for rising seniors
Architect requires 4 rivalry wins to unlock, and Buffalo is 2-2 in the dynasty against their only rival Temple, which means we won’t see investment into that tree until Year 8 at the *earliest*! (Meanwhile, random schools like Troy and Hawaii have 4+ rivalries, so you can knock it out in a single season; Notre Dame has TEN rivals!) That’s why the ability to declare new rivalries is one of the top things on my wishlist for CFB26.
I truly think Joshua Bloom could be somewhat of an impact player this season if given the chances. He's probably our best receiving back and could be very crucial on 3rd downs
Cane, I remember well the many times I've heard you say at the beginning of a season that you want to utilize a quick, high percentage passing game to work with the running offense to control the game and generate points. To date, I've yet to see you actually implement such a passing attack. Even in the practice session, you rarely target a receiver less than ten yards downfield for a quick, high percentage pass completion - even if the receiver has yards between him and the nearest opponent. How many seconds does it take for even your fastest receiver to travel the forty to forty-five yards downfield the you expect to complete a pass to? Is that the hallmark of a quick, high percentage passing game? This sounds to me like another instance of Cane's Bait and Switch, promising a quick, high percentage passing game and actually playing a medium to deep passing attack that is neither quick nor high percentage. Why should this season be any different? - sj
I agree. I love Cane's work, buy he really never tries a different approach depending on his personnel, especially at QB. He hasn't been a dominant running team since early Kalispell days with Roscoe Parish and the QB#2 Walker he had who couldn't throw well.
Dumb enough to bite on every play fake, but strong and fast enough to get to the QB immediately and blow up options and play-actions before they develop. I've seen high school players like that before.
the team is dripping with potential. can cane bring his best coaching this year and send this team into the next step with swagger?! we will see! the drama!!
Apparently the thing to do with Route Runners and Deep Threats that arent great WR prospects is to move them to running back...... not that you dont have a million options there either.
Was looking into what happens to people that get encouraged to transfer. Mostly from what I have been seeing juniors and seniors tend to just disappear. Almost everyone that showed one of their previous players they found was a RS Sophmore at best.
Hey Cane if you lose out on Lokombo in week 1, look at other 5 stars! Might be one out there with a couple offers that you can fight for. 2nd note - maybe move bloom to wr next year? His receiving ratings and caps are much better than his running
Adam Cain FIRST 5 years, NEXT 5 Seasons… 1. Win the MAC 2. Move to ACC/B1G 3. Become NFL/Madden Head Coach (Edit Ogbana into Draft Class) 4. Fired or Leave after 1-2 seasons 5. Return to saved file in CFB at THE Ohio State University (use that encourage transfer loophole for your fav players to enter the portal and try to bring them to OSU)
i thought this while watching the stream but what if, since everybody in the dynasty is now auto-generated, you just took the lowest rated tight end on a random or not so random team and recreated kevin cajuste? it wouldn’t be a completely genuine experience but i think a potential reappearance and revenge game would be awesome and totally worth it considering all the pain and agony he put us through. (especially that lateral)
One thing I’ve noticed about the 4 and 5 star recruits in this game is they not that great cap wise. They’re good initially but they don’t progress at all hardly and that’s even with good development. And I know certain archetypes of players just don’t develop well (Scrambler QB, Possession and Vertical TE) but it’s nothing worse than being in a battle with a big school and landing a 5 star and then he’s capped at a 85 after his sophomore year
They need to fix this for cb 26, I have had multiple players win awards even as far as winning the heisman and still being drafted in the 5th or 6th round.
One of my dislikes about recruiting is that they tell you to recruit all these players at positions you dont need....you don't need 5 qb on the roster....
I have to say, not a big fan at how you kept giving us crap about wanting Austin Harris at FS, only for you to then promptly not make Harris a starting wideout and continue to discuss how you’d like more speed in the secondary. You could have done that and had the potential for him to grow and be a contributor instead of a benchwarmer.
Ray elway got shafted ogbonna needs to be on a short leash if you have championship aspirations this season too many mistakes can cost you elway waited his turn irl he would’ve transferred
I still believe you're making a mistake with not going with Elway. However, I can see your points why. I guess it's more to do with the playing style you're going with for this team, but if it were me, I'd go with Elway. Just knowing how you've played in the past 5 seasons, Elway would fix the problems you had in the past 2 or 3 seasons. Not going with him, I believe those problems will continue. You might win the MAC, but I believe there is a possibility that a 3rd repeat season is in store where you have a great season, but post-season will leave a lot to be desired. I could be wrong, and if you want, you can take this as a challenge. Good luck.
Ogbonna looked very bad in practice. He can't push the ball down the field. The team is better off with Pacheco if the identity of the team is running and quick passing. Elway is better if we wanted a balanced attack. Buffalo will be successful enough to justify keeping Ogbonna but he's holding the team back.
Starting Ogbonna will be a mistake 15+ ints coming. Elway should be the starter, but you will figure that out after losing another Mac/Bowl game double.
Ray Elway is easily the best QB but per usual Cane won't play him because he thinks a QB should be a run first player 😂😂😂😂 another year of coming up short when it counts
