Guayama, A Rare Gem That Could Shine So Much Brighter!

- After visiting 23 towns in Puerto Rico, producing 23 videos, writing 23 extensive blog posts and and updating two of my Puerto Rico travel books in 2023, we thought a month’s-worth of rest and relaxation were well deserved. Besides, Christmas events on the Island fall on the “news” side of things and they’re short lived after the period is over.
Last January 22 we picked things up again and visited the town of Guayama, on the southeastern coast of Puerto Rico. Guayama is a beautiful town, with breathtaking architecture, that was once an agricultural powerhouse.
Of course, we were there for other attractions, like the Saint Anthony of Padua Parish (Parroquia San Antonio de Padua), one of the nicest and unique in Puerto Rico, Christopher Columbus Square (Plaza de Recreo Cristóbal Colón) with its magnificent Trees and regal design, the Casa Cautiño Museum, one of the few in Puerto Rico were every single item is an original, and many other along the way.
And our experience? Well, let’s just say that it was a mixed bag. Some things exceeded our expectations, others underwhelmed us and still others were good, but could be so much better.

Five points
Pozuelo beach was my paternal parents finca until the land was appropriated by the government to develop Phillips Petroleum in the 1960s. And yes, I was not aloud in that portion of the beach but towards the eastern part thete was a nice reef with a pool like natural beach in front of my cousins land!
I see that we agree in most aspects. Thanks for watching!
they say some people saw a a witch flying with her broom she come out at 12 midnight at that that town
Agree 100%, my fellow guayameses do not know what a touristic treasure they have. After visiting more than 160 countries I can say few places can compare in history, beauty and architectural beauty. It’s Spanish, French, agricultural, slavery, and witchcraft and sport history is unequal.Unfortunately even most Puerto Ricans do not know Guayama, just ask!
Maybe they’ll wake up. That’s why I produce these videos.
