Our local radio stations run this song back to back with the next one on the album Livin' Lovin' Maid. So it's Heartbreaker-end- and then Bam- transitions right into Livin' Lovin' Maid. It's really cool! Like both songs are two parts of one song.
Livin’ Lovin’ Maid is the title, and that is globally since it came out in ‘69 lol

Back in the day, in Austin Texas, we had a radio station called Z-102 Austins Album Rock, this song takes me back to the time of day when they played 30 min of Led Zeppelin tracks, they called that time of day, "Gettin out the Led". They did both tracks of Heartbreaker and Livin Lovin maid back to back too
They never play these songs on the radio in Norway. Not even on the rock channels. Only Stairway and Kashmir every 10th year :/
Van.....you're a D.C. guy......this is absolutely a "Golden Rule" that you need to know. Here in the Baltimore/D.C. area, it is a 100% REQUIREMENT to play "Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid" together! This is a long standing tradition started DECADES ago by our local Rock radio stations
DC101( WWDC) and 98 Rock (WIYY ) . One just doesn't seem right without the other!

I was messing with one in the volkswagon rabbit in the driveway of my Grandpa's house, when I hit the shifter and we almost ran back down the gravel across a road into the 10 foot down rock wall creek. Your first time hearing it, and you already recognize how important this song is in rock history. Btw, you need to listen to "Living Loving Maid" immediately after. They are in that order on the album, and that's how the radio used always to play it, and I always need to pay them together every time I hear heartbreaker

Led Zeppelin was Influenced by early American blues singers like howlin wolf, muddy water etc. They speak about it all the time on interviews. That explains Robert Plants vocal style and jimmy page guitar licks.
JPJ rarely played guitar for them. He's bass, keyboards, sometimes mandolin. I think Page's solo here is one of his best and better than Stairway to Heaven.
You have to play living lovin maid immediately after Heartbreaker. They go together. It is traditionally played on the radio this way! And I'm not just used to it but I love it this way!!

Young guy is working with JPJ as a producer. JPJ sitting around playing the the bass. Everyone going about their business and he starts playing Heartbreaker and the guy said "everyone stopped talking. Everyone stopped moving". He gave them all a story they can tell for the rest of their lives.
