The devs are getting burnt out in making these yearly releases, it needs to stop. They pretty much being tortured by Activision at this point

I don't understand how EOMM could possibly be making them money. If I go 20-18 and then 3-36 why on earth would I want to buy skins and weapon blueprints? If you're a half decent player you get non-stop lobbies with cheaters in them or sweats. I only play multiplayer for the weekly challenge and after that it's Warzone only with friends. I have zero desire to play COD unless its with friends. I was a hardcore fan until BLO3 and that's where they started to lose me. The only reason I'll be playing the new one is because it's on Game pass.

MW 2019 is still the best modern COD by a country mile. 3arch has sucked since BO3 and SHG hasn't made a single good COD. The worst advanced movement cod followed up by the worst 2 WW2 CODs and MWIII is only half passable because it's coming off the trainwreck that was MWII.
Infinity Ward's MW2019 was incredible but MW2022 and MW2023 were abominable. It's like we owed them for making a good game so they put out cheap dog shit after

it’s just crazy to me that from top to bottom now, the maps, weapon balance, matchmaking, game design, everything is manipulated just to make the most amount of money short term and run the franchise into the ground seeing just how much they can do instead of just making a great game that can last and stuff that people would actually wanna invest time and money into

I don’t see any problem with them poaching maps. Treyarch split their resources to help the other two studios (and fixing the mess that sledehammer was in before Cold War released)so it’s the least they can do.

I am never buying a yearly release game ever again. It promotes mediocrity, overworks the devs, is completely unnecessary for an FPS, and sacrifices quality for profit.
EOMM/SBMM and rampant cheating prevents me from even entertaining the idea of playing another COD ever.

The problem is that Activision purposely changed how they were doing things in order to maximise profits with minimal effort in thinking as to what the players will like and want. If they do put in things that players really want, they will likely find some way to monetize it such as returning camo's in the shop that only work for 2 guns in the selection at a very high price. COD has lost it's identity due to stuff like being woke and greed.

Cold War is my favorite COD of the last 5 years. Had its problems but I have my most playtime on it on a COD game in the last 5 years

For me the games was ruined when EVERY game felt like a tournament match. People sliding everywhere, jumping around every corner and ONLY using whatever is the strongest build at the time. No experimentation......

SBMM and optimization/rushed development is what hurt Cold War, personally CW is my #2 CoD game.

I don't think you even played BO3 if this is your thought. BO3 only added vertical movement and wall running. You can't run any direction (singular direction running), you can't dive at all in BO3. Movement in BO6 will not be at all similar to BO3

bo4 was honestly the last good cod game that came out and cold war was the last somewhat enjoyable game. honestly everthing after cod added battle royal to the game has become shit. beginning with 2019.

SBMM killed cod in 2023. MW3 has the most strict chaotic SBMM in cod history. No way any decent player wants to endure this stressful awful matching making. Noway. I’m playing for zombies and campaign. I moved in away from cod multiplayer.

If doors are in, ffs just follow Vanguard. DESTRUCTIBLE DOORS. Taking an entire door off leaves it off the entire game. Sure you might have to do it every game, but having to destroy a door that’s completely off its hinges is better than keep a door there.

It’s been amazing to not play COD for a year now. They had me reeled in for so many years (from 2009). Game just isn’t the same nowadays. Hoping for a badass BF release next year.

We need doors with security codes so no one can enter. We also need a perk that rewards sitting in corners and locking doors…maybe some kind of wall hack or extra bullet penetration

Biggest threat to Call of Duty is clearly Activision and their unnecessary decisions.
Your story about the Blackout DMs isn’t telling me anything I already didn’t know, but hearing it still makes me furious. Blackout was soooo much better and I can’t believe how bad we have been screwed since 2019. I went from loving the franchise for years to absolutely despising it.
This isn’t the same guys in that studio though.
If anything, this is proof enough that the games need to stop coming out every. single. year. The devs need time to make these games perfect for their vision and feature complete before adding Live Service elements.

Between the sheer amount of hackers that are rampant in both WZ and Multiplayer, I have no intention to purchase another COD/BO game. Until they fix the hacking, that includes PC, console, and Cronus Zen users - I have no intention of giving them another cent

SBMM is such an excuse at this point, the competition levels feel similar weather im playing COD or xdefiant, the days of getting lobbies full of noobs on FPS games are over, every game is sweaty.
It's the mechanics which makes the modern games feel sweaty. The bunny hopping, booty sliding, slide cancelling.... and there is a ton of ( soft ) cheaters in both games.

Since warzone dropped I’ve said blackout > warzone. Warzone was def fun for a little bit but blackout was overall a better BR

The sad part is when these bad decisions don't pan out, they would rather cut devs instead of cutting the people from Activision who are forcing them to make said decisions. That's a lot of control with very little responsibility.

No Vondy and no Blundell. This isn't golden age Treyarch, this is a completely new studio.
Stretching the studios too thin is not going to be a valid excuse this year. Tryarch had 3 full years to develop their game this time around.
FYI Cold War is NOT GONE I've played it since its launch and to this day I find matches on there faster than on Xdefiant
Im done supporting Microsoft and activision until they stop forcing these devs to put out a game every year and replacing them with AI. Support smaller developers and open source devs. They deserve it alot more.

The ”identity crisis” is just the fact that they can’t make the same trash movement system they introduced in bo3, where everything is super floaty and arcadey. This time they had to make something that’s more in line with the new movement, but hopefully imroved thanks to the omnimovement.
I'd be very cautious taking BT's word for anything. But if it's true, I don't see this as a bad thing. Treyarch has been support for everyone else and getting the short straw. Its time they had some help getting over the finish line. I still think these games should be a 2 year cycle- if nothing else changed, this would atleast stop the devs getting stupid streached to get the next game out
Let's face it. Licensing this ip to multiple different companies is killing the franchise. Could you imagine how great a game treyarch would make without having to answer to Activision?

I heard the opposite, I'm pretty sure it was from The Gaming Revolution's sources and they said that the game has been done for ages and they have just been playtesting. I don't think post launch was mentioned but why would they playtest endlessly and not even do anything towards post launch?

Well the og devs rebelled against Activision during MW2 in 2009 and left the studio. That’s why it never got patched.
Now I'm going to glaze Treyarch because it would hurt to see this. But I just feel like doesn't have the authority to just take their maps.

So much negativity around a game that hasnt even released. I find it ironic that some COD youtubers are trying their hardest to bash BO6 before they've even played it. I'm not even trying to defend Activision, but im not gonna judge a game until I see gameplay and trusted reviews of the game. BO6 looks great so far. Obviously save your judgement for the actual game, but i haven't seen anything negative about the game besides the always online aspect. Other than that, it looks amazing.
If black ops 6 fails, I blame it on Activision. Treyarch has been carrying call of duty on their backs ever since black ops 2. Activision is the only one that can prevent treyarch from making this game a success
