She Served Me Poland's FINEST Traditional Filled Dumplings 🥟

  • In this video I decided to try the most famous Polish food that I heard so much about!
And what is the most famous Polish food? Yes, it's Pierogi - potato dumplings in a shape of half moon and stuffed with many delicious filling such as meet (pork, beef, etc.) or cheese, potato, quark, sauerkraut, edible mushrooms, etc.
So I went to the authentic restaurant Pierogarnia Krakowiacy that has a cosy and unique atmosphere and probably the best pierogi in the city of Kraków. What I liked about the restaurant was the really welcoming staff and the food was delicious. I also had a great experience while eating, looking at the traditional Polish decorations surrounding me while they was also playing traditional Polish folk music. I ordered chicken flavoured noodle soup and for a drink Kompot which is is a non-alcoholic beverage that may be served hot or cold, depending on tradition and season. I also order a Żywiec beer which is one of the largest breweries and beer producers in Poland. Founded in 1856 in the town of Żywiec, the brewery manufactures pale lager with a 5.6% alcohol volume. Grupa Żywiec S.A. consists of five main breweries: Żywiec Brewery, Elbrewery, Leżajsk, Warka Brewery and Browar Namysłów.
Pierogi are filled dumplings made by wrapping unleavened dough around a savoury or sweet filling and cooking in boiling water. They are often pan-fried before serving. Pierogi or their varieties are associated with the cuisines of Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe.

12:40 its a parsley :P this is Rosol (polish traditional chicken soup) yes, you're right - we make a soup with chicken but then we also eat chicken in the soup but this is like an optional (rare), mostly we have chicken leg/breast in the bowl with Rosol which all polish people make in the Sunday, just for first course. Most of the people love Rosol soup and its perfect Sunday starter just before main dish which is mostly potato mash with Schabowy (pork meat) and salad also which are mostly sauerkraut or pickled gherkins which fit perfectly to this kind of dish. Really delicious. I'm living in UK for 11 years now but we are still doing polish 'sunday roast' way like I say every week😂😜
regarding Pierogi - my favourite is to add some salt and black pepper on top of pierogi (you had this stuff - salt cellar etc on your left on the table) and most important to the sour cream, then I mix sour cream, salt and black pepper with fork which make sour cream so tasty all together 🥰 try it, you won't be disappointed! hope you had nice time in Krakow mate!

We used chicken to cook chicken soup, but chicken cooked in the soup was served as separate dish. We for example fried it. You had warming soup and main dish of cooked chicken with potatoes and some salad like "mizeria" which was sliced fresh cucumbers with sour cream, dill, salt and pepper. I would appreciate if you would comment on polish cuisine after you made a research on why Polish Cuisine is this way and not the other way. Cheers my friend

"Pierogi" is a Polish dish that's often misunderstood in English. People sometimes call it "pierogies", but that's not quite accurate. In Polish, "pierogi" is already plural. The singular form is "pieróg". So, calling them "pierogies" is like saying "pizzas" instead of "pizza". Just like you wouldn't say "I want two pizzas" when you mean "I want two pieces of pizza", you shouldn't say "pierogies" when you mean multiple pieces of the dish. It's more accurate to say "I would like some pierogi".
