I cried, again
The last of us us is a true masterpeice in videogame history. It really captured the love Joel had for his daughter and Ellie. Although Joel may not speak it, he proves through his actions how much he cares for Ellie.

Still the best edit in the game.
I cant stop watching this. seeing Joel carry Ellie out of the hospital the same way he carried his daughter hurts, u know Joel is reliving his nightmare from the past thinking he is going to lose the only thing in the world that matters to him again. the poetry that goes into this game is unreal totally makes you feel emotion you wouldn't think of having toward a fiction character, but thats why we love the last of us.
and the second part just makes you depressed for a week

What makes this game stick in your mind so profoundly and stay with you so deeply?
Before I answer this question , allow me to give a sort of a backdrop. So, a man (Joel) loses his beloved daughter to a chaotic world of humans turned infected. Many years later, Joel finds himself stuck in taking care of a girl (Ellie), resembling his dead daughter. Initially, he does not care much for her but then due to a series of events of mutual, pity-causing hardships, their relationship deepens and develops into a very strong, unbreakable father-daughter bond. At any rate, this girl turns out to be the cure for ridding the world from infection (as she is immune to catching the deadly virus) but in order to do so as such, she must be 'sacrificed' by offering her brain but due to Joel's immense devotion to Ellie, Joel damns the whole world.
The 'pulse', then, of the narrative is parent to daughter love and vice versa. One of the reasons why the Last of Us was so endearing to the audience is that despite the arguably morally ambiguous decisions taken by Joel, the audience would nevertheless agree with Joel due to his inimitable care shown towards Ellie. That is to say, the profound relationship between Joel and Ellie is so powerful that it convinces the audience to unconsciously abandon their morals for something which 'surpasses' and is 'beyond' their morals. Joel does not just display his love by saying 'baby girl', but also by what he does; sacrificing his own life diligently, time after time, killing anything and everything that comes in the way of him protecting Ellie.
And so the beauty of love, which the Last of Us teaches us about, is a sort of test to assess the level of love present in our own relationships.
I *subbed* because of this video. It’s amazing and I can’t help but keep rewatching it. The music, dialogue, lyrics and editing are literal perfection. Very well done.
