This only works on Epson printers. Also, you need to print every 2-3 days minimum so the printhead does not clog. Pigment ink last 6 to 12. Mos. Outdoors, cold laminate, helps on surface wear. Black last longer than colored on fading outdoors BUT will last for year indoors. I updated my et-2720 about 11 months ago. I have not do any printhead cleaning since, I just print, print purge colors regularly. Matte paper settings is my main setting on all prints. Matte paper penetrates deeper, then cold laminate. Custom color setting RGB 2.2 is best.
Hi my printer has dye-ink in the tanks right now. Can i fill it up with pigment ink?
@@markells1810 hey, that's not advisable unless you drain and flush the printer tanks really really well. It's better to just buy a new printer so you don't run into any issues
What do you mean it last 6 to 12 months? On the printer or once you print it?
I am using RGB 2.2 and is color is ok. But now I am wondering how does the color accuracy / vibrancy compare to the original Epson inks?
What paper do you use

Thank you for your video. Does it effect the printer's head when we use different type of ink? I ' am using Canon's G1010 and I want to try to fill some pigment ink. But I am worried if it damage the heads. Can you suggest me which model of pigment ink is compatible for Canon G1010 to have long lasting photos?
Hi there! Thanks for the video! Wondering if this EcoTank printer with the Pigment ink is still working out for you well? Are the prints indeed waterproof with this method? Thinking of buying a new EcoTank printer for my own business to try this out! I've already got two with just the regular dye ink but find that my prints are not as durable as I would like. Thanks!

I also started making money by printing photos through the HP Ink Tank 415. After a while, I saved enough to buy an EPSON L8050. HP was very good but I had to change to another device because it didn't have the weighing feature. in colors like those of EPSON
This is a great video. I have an older Epson Work Force printer I'm thinking of converting after watching this video. I think the eco tank printer might be better, later on down the road. I'll see how much I refill the cartridges in the meantime with the older printer! Thank you for the inspiration :)

How do you like the EcoTank 2803 with making stickers with the sticker paper? I use online label sheets and make handmade planners just venturing into stickers. I just bought this one but called Epson to ask them before opening it and they had to call me back after researching and said it may or may not work. lol Thanks so much!
so far so good the major thing that convinced me was the waterproof part
I have the ET2800 and this is the first video I've seen converting to pigment inks. Can you tell me how its working for you? Do you get clogs since the head is designed for dye inks? I really want to put pigment ink in my 2800 but would love to hear first hand how this is working for you.

Whats better for stickers placed outdoors, water based eco-solvent ink or pigment ink?
Pigment. Anything water based is an instant no for outdoors. Won't stand even an hour of rain.
How has the pigment ink been working out for you? I’ve been doing a TON of research to figure out how to print decent quality shirts at home and am leaning toward pigment ink on heat transfers because I want to print on mostly darks and cotton, but there’s not too much info out there on it or how the prints hold up in the wash. Any info you could share about your eco tank pigment ink experience would be super helpful! Thank you!
Yeah, so actually I’ve been having the pigment ink and the printer for a close to a year now and I will say that my prints for my T-shirt transfers are a lot more vibrant and they do hold up a lot better. I just recommend that once you print on a T-shirt, transfer fabric paper I would highly recommend to let it sit overnight before you press it and once it’s pressed don’t wash it right away but other than that I haven’t had any issues with fading especially for using a great transfer paper. It should hold up.

No, it's completely different types of ink. Sublimation ink is also water base
its not this is more for regular printing but colors are more vibrant

I just found out about the cosmic ink last night a little disappointed because I just bought a new eco tank and already filled it with the original inks 😢

We cannot print white on these Ecotank printers you only have space for the CMYK
You need at least a 5 tank printer for white

I converted my et 2720 for over 2 years now and stii works great. What I did was I used a syringe without the needle and suck the ink from the cartridge one color at a time until I empty the tank. (The tip fits exactly under the cartridge, no need to remove the hoses) Refilled the tank with pigment ink, suck it from the cartridge until the ink filled the cartridge. I did this to all 4 colors. Place all the cartridge back and print a lot until I empty the printer head and got replaced with pigment ink.Its been working since. I always print with matte High settings no matter what paper. I made a point to print atleast 2 sheets of “purge colors” (search n Google it). No print head cleaning required. The key is print a lot, it will cost more if the print head got clogged than printing or head cleaning. I used a Korean brand pigment ink called HANSOL. I bought it on one of my trips to Asia and its supper cheap and bought 4 years worth. My outdoor stickers last about a year outside without fading (laminated) over six months non laminated. Hope it helps.
