Having masters is NOT neccesary to apply for PhD in IITs. In engineering a BTech degree is considered equivalent to master's degree like MSc/MA degrees in basic science, arts or related fields

Can you please suggest IITs that are best for PhD in English? As per different academicians, IIT Mandi, IIT Dhandbad, IIT Roorkee aren't good in comparison to IITGN, IIT Madras or IIT Delhi etc. Can you please guide? How to know which IIT is better than the other IIT? Should I look for the NIRF Rankings of the IITs?
All IITs are great. My advice - Try to align you research interest with the research area of a faculty rather than looking for rankings.

IGNOU Ma psychology student can also get chance for applying or they accept only regular student
I think that differs from IIT to IIT. Pls check the eligibility criteria carefully where you are applying

@@krishh0149 through my research I just found out that for PHD admissions it required to done lots of research paper during masters or after masters and also most importantly UGC NET for IIT admission in PHD gate needs to be cleared or UGC net preference’s given to gate student in psychology. Having degree from ignou is not an problem but some university prefer regular degree.

Ma'am I've completed M.A. (English) in June 2019 with 78.3% and qualified UGC NET of Dec 2019. Right now I'm working as Asst. Prof. of English in the Dept of Legal Studies (Self finance course) in a constituent college of UoA, and have an experience of 2.7 years. Will I get an edge over other candidates during interview of IIT PhD? Can you please suggest me the type of questions that they might ask? Will the questions be from literature or will it have questions on research methodology as well? Should I prepare a SOP? Should I go with my Masters thesis and the research paper that I got published? Will they ask questions from these?
Edge in the interview depends on how you perform. And yes chances are most questions will be from your research. So you should know your work thoroughly
