    2024 is the beginning of the Josh Allen 2.0 experience. The man has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt he can lead, create and ball with anyone in the business. Cole Beasley, John Brown, Devin Singletary, Emmanuel Sanders all came before the Stefon Diggs era in Buffalo. Josh made each of them look pretty good and I expect nothing less from Curtis Samuel, Keon Coleman, Dalton Kincaid, James Cook, K. Shakir and Ray Davis. Intrigued is a great word to use to describe what we are about to see from Josh. I'm less about Josh running and more about Josh becoming a bit more cerebral with how he manipulates a defense. Yes, the can and should take advantage of his running opportunities, But James Cook and Ray Davis are in the building for a reason. Josh may start slow but i have this sneaky feeling that the Bills are going to be the team no one wants to favce in January.

    As a fellow Charlotte resident, it is funny how many issues and talking points that were discussed here with the Panthers back in the mid 2010s are repeating themselves now with the Bills. I think about Cam Newton all the time when I hear the debate on how much Josh should be running.
    On another note, Brandon Beane compared Diggs to Steve Smith when Diggs didn’t participate in the mandatory minicamp last year. I should have seen the Diggs trade a mile away after he made that comparison! History repeats itself

    I feel the sentiment that this is “Josh Allen’s offense” as opposed to being a “Joe Brady offense” is code for Brady basically saying they’re trying to create this blueprint for the future of how the Bills offense should be approached and operated and not to be messed with too much by any single OC. Success will inevitably lead to Brady getting a shot at Head Coaching somewhere, and the offense needs to work well after he’s gone too and it has to remain “Josh Allen’s offense”

    I hate the way the nfl has neutered defense, but the rules are what they are, you have to take advantage of them. The quarterback is so protected you absolutely have to have josh run. Can you imagine being a corner who has a guy running full speed at you that is 40 pounds heavier and a half foot taller than you and in a split second you have decide if he is going to slide or not. Probably terrifying

    I think the best angle to look at Josh’s contract is to compare him to Brady. He took less money so he can have better teammates. I hope Josh has the same mindset. If I was in his position I wouldn’t want to take up a majority of the cap just to get paid top dollar. 40 million a year is already absurd money I wouldn’t care, especially when your a contending team trying to chase a ring!

    The messaging out of One Bills drive isn’t as clear as you’re making it out to be. Sometimes it seems as if commentators like yourself only hear what you want to hear and discard everything else.
    The messaging has been convoluted at best. We have Allen calling it Brady’s offense, we have Brady calling it Allen’s offense, we have Beane and McDermott pointing out the amount of success they’ve had on offense the past 5 years AND suggesting that the stuff that works isn’t going to change and we have some players saying the offense is changing quite a bit ( Shakier) and others (Knox) suggesting that it’s basically the same.
    Then you have to take into consideration that the Bills have been trying to become a more “12 Personnel” offense for at least three seasons. Obviously they drafted Kincaid last season but even before that they were trying to bring in other guys like OJ Howard, Rob Gronkowski and even Greg Olsen. This 2 TE alignment is obviously something that the Bills have been trying to incorporate for a long time.
    As far as Allen running the ball so much and a desire to reduce his workload in the run game, this has been an organization wide concern for years… again we’ve heard Beane and McDermott referencing it in the past… but we’ve also heard these concerns from ownership as well. Kim Pegula before her health declined used to do a show with Maddy Glab and even she has addressed the need to “protect Allen from himself” those were her words.
    The offense, from Daboll through Dorsey and even with Brady up through the Eagles game, has always been largely predicated on choice/option plays and we didn’t really see the Bills move away from that until Allen made that bad read against Philadelphia in OT and throw into the leverage, on that play to Davis. After that we saw the Bills offense lean heavily into the run game with both Allen and Cook.
    You would also think that “where a QB starts with his eyes” in the route progression, wouldn’t be a static thing. In professional football the QB usually reads the defense pre snap and the leverage of that defense should dictate where the progressions start, regardless of the play call, especially in this type of concept based EP system, that has zone and man beaters built into every play.
    If route progressions are pre determined based on the play and unable to change on the fly based on what the defense is giving you, then the offense will be awfully predictable.
    Just my thoughts… am I wrong?

  • @DeepThinker-gc8nz
    @DeepThinker-gc8nz 2 месяца назад

    Allen should run the ball when the opportunity presents itself, it’s the designed runs I disagree with, they seem to always fail and he takes an unnecessary hit for a meager gain. When he scrambles we get 1st downs, what we really need to stress is sliding and going out of bounds when you got what you needed
