Well Done! Less is more! Especially when teaching! Clear enough. Congrats!

Tried this today. Hit some pretty solid forehands with a lot of power and the ball mostly landed inside the court! crazy stuff.

Great video. There are several videos per week about the forehand but I think you got to the crux of it. The technical tip of actually waiting for the bounce to ensure you are below the ball is a very useful tip. You are a great teacher. If you were here in San Francisco, I would find you for some lessons. Congrats, dude.

Great tip. I'm getting back into tennis after many, many, years off, and after playing decently against some good players, I played a match against a pusher. I shanked the ball all over the place. I realized after that with the ball coming at me so slowly, I was rushing my swing - doing exactly what Kevin warns about at 5:10 - and as a result wasn't dropping my racquet.

Tennis is such a technical sport that it's difficult for beginners to emulate their favorite pros. Most pros start at such a young age, some as early as 4, that when you try to emulate them later in life, you just don't have their court time or coaching. I was lucky in that I had always played sports all my life and I think that developed my coordination that made tennis easier for me. I picked up the ATP forehand in 3 months. But journey doesn't end there. Like Kevin said that there are many variations on a theme that you have to master. But for those ppl that didn't play sports all their lives, tennis will be frustrating. There are just a world of things that could be preventing you from playing like pros. Thanks for the video.

      Totally agree 100%.
There needs to b natural coordination in footwork and hand/eye skill.

Principles are all good but too much talking and not enough simple slow motion examples. “A Picture paints a thousand words” Found myself loosing interest just over halfway through.

I like the way you explain this, thanks. You kept it very straightforward. And you did the same thing for the backhand. Really just two main things to focus on you're telling us, the racket face angle and path of the racket. And the grip on the backhand is very important, you pointed out, and swing from shoulder instead of forearm.
I have a forehand and backhand with a lot of spin, but like on the forehand maybe sometimes do too much wrist lay back. But I guess my thinking has been fuzzy on how to improve. Now focusing on this that should be better. Better to get the racket path correct. Then like you said you can do other things to increase power. Use legs, wrist lay back, increase torso turn, I guess.

Too many coaches on here telling folk to copy Alcaraz takebacks etc Basic fundamentals for beginners to rec players should be
    Recognise, Prepare, Move and Hit.
Then there’s a few more fundamentals that attach to those principles before anyone can even dream of trying these “bolt ons”. Great concise coaching as always Kevin 👍🏻

I really just want the 'simple' forehand - as a 60year old enthusiast, I endup moving in slow motion because I'm reliving all those videos with the prep, leg drive....
    Thank very much for this!!
