    This makes me realise just how much time was spent running the engine around the train and shunting the brake van.

    Thanks for another fantastic and interesting model railway video. Your attention to detail is amazing. Your weathering skills on those wagons, they look like the real thing. But I did notice a few had square wheels!!!, that's close-up photography for you.

    This is so realistic. I remember these rakes of trucks going around the tight junction in Syston. You could hear them squeal as they passed over the junction. You can still see them on the. Great Central Railway in Leicestershire.

    What a fabulous looking rake of coal wagons to start the show! I'm too young to remember steam hauled coal trains on the mainline, but I vividly recall such filthy, rusty wagons being trip worked by small ex-GWR tank engines and 08 shunters to/from the exchange sidings where they were collected by one of the literally dozens of class 37s based at Cardiff Canton depot.

    Nice to see a steamy departing tender first for a change. Steamies don't always back down to run smokebox first. They usually end up running tender or bunker first, when there's no room for a turntable to be installed. I'd like to see the Standard 4 tank engine coming in bunker first.

    Nice presentation. I noticed (I was not the only one) that your little 4 wheelers decided to take a different course! Mine used to that, never in the same spot, so I cut some sheet lead ( about 16g) to fit very neatly in the bottoms of the waggons and carefully painted. Of course a load or a tarpaulin over the thing helped. But, the little bludgers stayed on the rails!😊

    • @MouldyRaspberry
      @MouldyRaspberry  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks Peter! Yeah I think it’s because the different brands of wagons have different coupling heights, so they can lift each other off the rails sometimes with these new magnetic couplings I’m using.

    This layout and the sound is very good,I have to find something wrong, not because I'm a rivet counter but I like bloomers
    Firstly I noticed a scene where one wagon had a wheel come off, thrn another scene where it looked like a tension look couple vertical, I could just see the hook 9n the left of the scene.
    What I really want to know is why when I video my trains, something always goes wrong. It's like the trains know they are on video so decide to play up.

    • @MouldyRaspberry
      @MouldyRaspberry  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks! Yes Kadees with the magnetic hooks removed. I’m not bothered about the automatic uncoupling, I just like them because of their reliability and looks compared with tension locks

  • @BS1-5
    @BS1-5 Месяц назад +1

    im curious, which couplings do you use to do your remote decoupling? they look like kadee's but the tails are massively short so how does it work?

    • @MouldyRaspberry
      @MouldyRaspberry  Месяц назад

      I just do it manually so I snipped off the tails. I like the Kadees though because of how reliable they are and the close coupling but wasn’t bothered about doing it remotely.

I must say liked the way you finished of your video with the little 2MT{ alias Micky mouse } backing up to connect with the mixed wagon train and pulling out and heading for the tunnel .Thanks again Lewis for the effort you put in bringing your videos to us keep em coming .
