They gave us a classic wireless gaming headset with no bs. No RGB, no bluetooth, no ANC, no fuss. Yet it retains the important elements: super high quality build, great sound, great mic, very comfortable, absurdly good battery life. That's all most gamers need. $170 for such a premium sounding/feeling headset is not a lot. Many headsets are $270-330 these days, this costs nearly half that, how can you expect all these features at that price for something most don't even need? These features add weight and cost. Something to think about.
Agree 100% and most times, if they add those extra features, there are shortcomings elsewhere. Sure the Nova 7x has Bluetooth at that price point, but the build is crap and you only get a 1 year warranty in US with Steelseries. Mine creaks non stop and the earcups are too small for me to be comfortable.
I agree 100% it's a good headset and does the fundamentals well. Good sound, good mic, good comfort. My only gripe is they could've had velour or cloth pads instead of the leatherette only. I have a large head. I wear a size XL hat. This headset is very comfortable for me. It's definitely a top headset and one I would recommend easily.

There is a little less bass but the sound clarity and the details you get is amazing. 1: cloud 3 2: g pro x 2 3: cloud 2 4 cloud alpha With the alpha the sound is amazing ! But there is so much bass and treble, it hurts my hears past 30 minutes
Just a fyi, the microphone actually has a built in pop filter. Look at the big mesh grill on the front. As far as a mic for comms go, this is pretty much perfect. It’s super clear, has zero signal noise and won’t interrupt the game sounds for your teammates (which a lot of very pricey desktop mics do, I’m looking at you Shure)

I don't need those features. I think for that price it's totatally justified (it will get cheaper over time anyways). There is not one headset that delivers on these things like that AND has those features. The Stealth Pro isn't perfect either
been using my Hyper X cloud 2 for over 8 years and they still work as intended! The leather is falling off of it, but soundwise its a king to yet be beaten imo. I can clearly hear the footsteps in COD warzone and many of my friends are saying they never heard the players coming! for that reason itself I say go and get a pair of HyperX. And the comfort! big earcaps and comfy. I use it for many many hours without any strains around the ears at all. highly recommend. Im using the wired version, and there's now at least 3 wireless version from HyperX to consider.
It's now around 100€ and it's almost a no brainer. I've just spent hours trying to make a decision on this because a few reviewers said the sound was trash but it's only on the wired version anyway and I have now come full circle. Waiting for my order to arrive so don't hesitate to ping for feedback
For a gaming headphone my main thing is dynamics and imaging. Soundstage is a nice bonus. I like the fiio ft3 with suede pads, the maxwell has pretty good dynamics as well, but can sound a bit thin in parts out of the box. Good enough, but I tend to reach for my iems more so.

Once I bought an Alienware wireless headset for about the same price... comfortable, nice looking, the 7.1 sound of it was incredibly clean and nice, the software was fine (at first)... I was happy... until Dell realized that they went a bit over, so they ruined the product line with updates... such a shame... thank god my headset was still under warranty so I swapped it. Now I'm using a wired cloud alpha and I'm okay with it. Once I can buy a wifi headset that can actually deliver, I'll definitely get it, but this is not that level. Thx for the review.
I got a strange problem with this one: Every time a new sound is played there is a slight crackling. For example, when a youtube video ends and the new one starts. It´s a sharp high pitch crackling which hurts my ears. My guess is that the headset is going in standby when there is no sound and the crackling occurs when it´s powering up. No crackling at all when i´m listening to music or in games so it´s not a broken speaker. Must be some setting somewhere. If anybody knows pls let me know.
This headset feels so good around the ears, especially for people with big ears like me. Feels very light and sound is great. The only things I do not like about this headset is it takes 5-10 seconds of holding the power button to turn it on and off, and once it is on there is no LED indicator to let you know it is on. But besides that this is a 9/10 headset at it's price point.
Fr I wish hyperX would make a firmware update where u can just EQ tune ur headphone and save them inside the headphone Fr That’d be nice cos using the cloud 2 wireless and I can’t tune it like the pc players does is really tiring
Wireless is pretty close to wired now, if it has the right tech. Like my btr7 sounds great in Bluetooth, even on sbc (as long as it’s a newer sbc on the device). Dongles from the maxwell have a “lossless” format that you’d have to have golden ears to tell the difference between usbc and dongle. Ldac and aptx are up there too. AAC sounds great too with newer Qualcomm chips.
I have the hs80 max and gave them to my little brother and bought the maxwell. Even with the update the mic isn’t as good as maxwell. The sound isn’t even close. The hs80 sound is middle of the pack. Audeze is on a whole different level 😊

The flat, telephone like sound makes me think you didnt switch to 32k in windows for the Mic. Did you? If so, i cant explain that sound. 2 of my buddies bought it and in Teamspeak and Discord, they sound much fuller and more real.

Is there any talks about WC making a cloth pad? The cooling gel ear pads are only cool for about 10 minutes. After that they get hotter than pretty much all the stock pads and they add a TON of extra weight. Would be nice to see them add a breathable ear cup

Hi I had the turtle beach stealth pro wireless I just returned them because I I couldn't hear anything differently on the sound when I tried t to change the eq settings on phone app I didn't even notice the base even on bass boost the Logitech pro x 2 wireless the bass is more noticable stay safe and happy gaming to all
The first cloud flight had the swivel, tho the swivels broke just when I replaced the earpads. So they're the first point of failure. That explains why they don't want to give em for later models. I just glued them back on with plastic supports, I don't miss the swivel personally.
i have been using cloud 2s since 2018 .. bought both wired/wireless cloud 3s.. honestly what you're saying is right the wireless has more punch out the box . Whats funny is the cloud 2s still win lol. I have to have the 3s Turned up to 100% and even then i run my cloud 2s at 65% and they beat the 3s.. I absolutely hate the plastic headband hinges from a past experience, the cloud 2 the logitech g pro wireless and the corsair hs70 pro all of them had cracks in the plastic hinges of the headband, Idk if its because my head is big or something, can u guys pls recommend a headset that gets rid of this problem? One thing I hate about how fast technology moves is the fact that companies feel the need to keep moving forward and pushing new products. They could easily keep producing and selling cloud 2s and never have to change anything to compete. I owned the wired cloud 2s and wireless and they are by far my favorite headsets ive ever used... and when I say that I really mean it. I returned my steel series arctis pros for these because they are just that perfect. Im only watching this now because I let CS2 get the best of me and gave them a lil too much of a love tap and now my left ear feels neglected lmao.
I just canceled my razer blackshark 2 pro order cause i read everywhere it has a static noise which my last two turtle beach stealth gens (500 and 600) also had the same issue. I ordered this one instead now and hope it wont dissapoint or is atleast an upgrade to my old 3-4year 80$ headset . I just want clear good gamesound with clear footsteps and immersive 3d surround sound. Im sad i cant experience the good mic of the razer but i really dont wanna deal with the beep again. Cool vid
I, too, thought the wireless Cloud IIIs sounded better than the wired ones. The Cloud II Core Wireless I have also sounds better than my wired Cloud III. I agree, it is quite overpriced though. Good headset, but not $170 good.
@@SleepTrgt haven’t tried either of them, so I cannot say. I highly doubt it. I still use the Cloud II Core Wireless, and my new Blackshark V2 Hyperspeed as well as the Cloud III Wireless. They’re all good, IMO. I also like the budget G435 (if I am remembering the model name right). They sound great for the price, but the mic is terrible.
@@SleepTrgt i think the Cloud III sounds a little better, is built better and is more comfortable, but it’s also more expensive. The Razer is nice that it also has Bluetooth if that’s important. The HyperX software is pretty poor in terms of customization for the sound, and Razer Synapse allows for a lot more customization and features for both the sound and mic. It’s a close call though, I’m happy with both. I think I’d probably give the nod to the Clouds.

The thing that kills every one of these headsets is the horrible mic monitoring or no mic monitoring at all, and no bluetooth dual connectivity. Complete buzzkill. Its the reason i havent left turtle beach in years. Best MM in any gaming headset. So unfortunately i have to deal with plastic creaky headsets until these companies wise up lol
I had a hyperx flight wireless, so I decided to do an upgrade I got a hyperx cloud 3 wireless for $135 here in Brazil. It arrived today and putting it back into the box and sending to RMA. REALLY DOESN'T WORTH, the sound is bad, seems that you're inside a box, not a crispy sound, bass is missing a lot. I'll spend a bit more money to go for a steelseries artics nova pro wireless.

Because I bought the cloud 2 wireless and had to return it because it had a hissing sound no matter if music is playing/dongle is in the usb port,it just needed to be on for it to appear . No i dont agree with the extra features. I dont need that, i just need a good, imaging, quality microfone, wireless headset that does the job well. Honestly i watched a bunch of reviews and it does a lot better than steelseries for example. Razer/Corsair/audeze might be better but way more expensive.
I’m mainly buying this headset for the mic. My current Razor Blackshark V2 ($70) headset makes me sound stuffy and deeper, which as a girl isn’t the best. Also, I work at Best Buy, so I’ll be getting the wireless with a good discount-making it worth it for me. :)

Does the DTS X actually work on these though? My current cloud Alpha's have an awful popping using DTS x that Hyperx themselves have said they arent going to try and fix anymore.
The Cloud 2 wired is OG and will absolutely bumps songs. The wireless doesn't get as loud I'm not sure if its to optimize the battery but that's a big thumbs down. Also I'm hearing the sound quality is a touch worse than the Cloud 2. Oh well if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Btw the mic on this headset is on a lower hz out the box, i set it from 16k hz to 32khz in windows settings it increases the quality of the mic a lot!

HyperX have a reputation of good QC when it comes to driver matching. Imaging on these should actually be quite good.

Whats funny is the cloud 2s still win lol. I have to have the 3s Turned up to 100% and even then i run my cloud 2s at 65% and they beat the 3s.. Just how it is when they come out with an amazing product . hard to beat the cloud 2s
I absolutely hate the plastic headband hinges from a past experience, the cloud 2 the logitech g pro wireless and the corsair hs70 pro all of them had cracks in the plastic hinges of the headband, Idk if its because my head is big or something, can u guys pls recommend a headset that gets rid of this problem? I was thinking about the hs80 max because the hinges are not plastic I think
Add blackshark v2pro to that list. Left one shattered while it was on mt head and rifht one has cracks. I cant use them anymore

@@ywnai9041 idk about the max but i used the hs80 usb and wireless. The sound was okay the mic was fenomenal, but the ear cushions were the problem for me the hole where you ears go was a little bit small for my ears
No BT is a dealbreaker, answering calls without taking the headset off while gaming is so nice. Glad i bought the Steelseries nova 7 wireless.
Get the cloud mix then and those works on any console, mobile and pc, those have bt, and they hibrid.

One thing I hate about how fast technology moves is the fact that companies feel the need to keep moving forward and pushing new products. They could easily keep producing and selling cloud 2s and never have to change anything to compete. I owned the wired cloud 2s and wireless and they are by far my favorite headsets ive ever used... and when I say that I really mean it. I returned my steel series arctis pros for these because they are just that perfect. Im only watching this now because I let CS2 get the best of me and gave them a lil too much of a love tap and now my left ear feels neglected lmao.
Same as you. Returned Steel series arctis nova pro because the sound was so flat. It sounded like plastic cans.
I just canceled my razer blackshark 2 pro order cause i read everywhere it has a static noise which my last two turtle beach stealth gens (500 and 600) also had the same issue. I ordered this one instead now and hope it wont dissapoint or is atleast an upgrade to my old 3-4year 80$ headset . I just want clear good gamesound with clear footsteps and immersive 3d surround sound. Im sad i cant experience the good mic of the razer but i really dont wanna deal with the beep again. Cool vid
They use custom equalizers which make all your audio go trough a filter.
I, too, thought the wireless Cloud IIIs sounded better than the wired ones. The Cloud II Core Wireless I have also sounds better than my wired Cloud III. I agree, it is quite overpriced though. Good headset, but not $170 good.

@@SleepTrgt haven’t tried either of them, so I cannot say. I highly doubt it. I still use the Cloud II Core Wireless, and my new Blackshark V2 Hyperspeed as well as the Cloud III Wireless. They’re all good, IMO. I also like the budget G435 (if I am remembering the model name right). They sound great for the price, but the mic is terrible.

@@SleepTrgt i think the Cloud III sounds a little better, is built better and is more comfortable, but it’s also more expensive. The Razer is nice that it also has Bluetooth if that’s important. The HyperX software is pretty poor in terms of customization for the sound, and Razer Synapse allows for a lot more customization and features for both the sound and mic. It’s a close call though, I’m happy with both. I think I’d probably give the nod to the Clouds.

I have at home right now, all wireless headset: cloud 2, alpha, cloud 3 and g pro x 2. The cloud 3 is my top pic for sound quality and by far! There is a little less bass but the sound clarity and the details you get is amazing.

The thing that kills every one of these headsets is the horrible mic monitoring or no mic monitoring at all, and no bluetooth dual connectivity. Complete buzzkill. Its the reason i havent left turtle beach in years. Best MM in any gaming headset. So unfortunately i have to deal with plastic creaky headsets until these companies wise up lol

I had a hyperx flight wireless, so I decided to do an upgrade I got a hyperx cloud 3 wireless for $135 here in Brazil. It arrived today and putting it back into the box and sending to RMA. REALLY DOESN'T WORTH, the sound is bad, seems that you're inside a box, not a crispy sound, bass is missing a lot. I'll spend a bit more money to go for a steelseries artics nova pro wireless.

Hi,does the cloud 3 wireless have a white noise/hissing sound? Because I bought the cloud 2 wireless and had to return it because it had a hissing sound no matter if music is playing/dongle is in the usb port,it just needed to be on for it to appear . And a lot of people had this issue ,probably because of the radio receiver/dongle they use
No i dont agree with the extra features. I dont need that, i just need a good, imaging, quality microfone, wireless headset that does the job well. Honestly i watched a bunch of reviews and it does a lot better than steelseries for example. Razer/Corsair/audeze might be better but way more expensive.

They are on sale for 129 rn steal at that price IMO. This headset is prob the most comfortable headset I’ve ever owned. Pillowy clouds all around. I don’t get where Techne is saying they aren’t that cozy that’s just wild to me like how are they not?

Does the DTS X actually work on these though? My current cloud Alpha's have an awful popping using DTS x that Hyperx themselves have said they arent going to try and fix anymore.

The Cloud 2 wired is OG and will absolutely bumps songs. The wireless doesn't get as loud I'm not sure if its to optimize the battery but that's a big thumbs down. Also I'm hearing the sound quality is a touch worse than the Cloud 2. Oh well if it ain't broke don't fix it.
