No matter what, Tai Lung will always be my favorite villain and Master Viper my favorite Furious Five member
Tai lung is a good character but I like Kai a little bit more. His weapons are menacing and his theme music whenever he walks up is amazing.

1. Kung Fu Panda 2 - 10/10 (The Spider-Man 2 of KFP: Perfect plot)
2. Kung Fu Panda - 9.5/10 (The great introduction of the series)
3. Kung Fu Panda 3 - 8.5/10 (A good conclusion to the trilogy)
4. Kung Fu Panda 4 - 8/10 (A solid introduction of the new era, but there are missing pieces that are noticed)

I love kung fu panda 2, even when I was 8 and not knowing the deep law or lesson (I didn’t even know the rhino guy died actually died). It’s just you can feel real emotions like dread in Po’s past and the villain himself Shen in the peacock tower. I think it felt different because most of the scenes took place at night with the constant red contrast which I find it very amusing to watch
not knowing Rhino died until many many years later after a nostalgia re-watch 🤝🏼
I’m glad someone acknowledges shen in the 2 movie cause I loved him as a villain he gave po a reason to find inner peace in the hardest times of his life needing to deal with the fact that shen is the reason why his family and panda species disappeared and he still try’s to offer Shen a new path in life despite what he did and I wished they kept the kung fu panda movies serious after the 2 movie honestly focusing on a different journey
Also something that kinda made no sense to me in the 4 movie is that po has to look for a successor even though oog way didn’t have to look for one until he had a reason why and he just kept being the dragon warrior for more years then po did and I kinda wish po would’ve matured through the series not wanting to be the dragon warrior anymore because of a reason that’s relatable like maybe wanting to stay with his family more or some kind of journey then it having to be forced for him to look for a successor but I’m glad they didn’t go with the same story of the whole inner peace journey again because that story was over used a lot and I’m glad they did something new in the 4 movie

Imo Kung Fu Panda 1 is better than Kung Fu Panda 2 but this is a solid ranking.

The reason why I have four ranked above three is that for me personally, the tone feels kinda like it’s aiming more towards for kids in some areas, especially in the Panda Village, the tension is mostly lacking until the final battle, and despite J.K. Simmons giving an excellent performance, a solid backstory, and an epic villain score by the great Hans Zimmer, he’s not really that threatening in my opinion. Now with four, despite the lack of Furious Five and the pacing can be a bit off, despite each film of the franchise also being around 90 minutes, it did have more of that action and adventurous aspect that I thought three was missing in some parts.

The first and last spot are on point, the only thing I would change it the 2nd and 3rd spot because I feel as if the everything about the third was almost perfect and in my opinion was the best send off for the trilogy. Not to down play the first movie because Tai lung is my favorite villain and I love what they did with his character but I feel as if it was missing something. Overall, I do agree with your list, still pretty solid👍🏾

I know the Furious Five aren't in it outside of a cameo and the ending, but since the story is about Po and Zhen creating a master/student bond, they wouldn't had anything to do.
Well Po and Shifu created a master/student bond mostly in 1 and 2 and the furious five still had plenty to do.
@@ShakaHapa In Kung Fu Panda 1, it was about Shifu coming to understand Po and how best to teach him Kung Fu. He initially couldn't do that like how he trained the others, and so he had to adapt his teaching strategy. The Furious Five's role in the story was to highlight how different Po's training is from theirs. Also, Shifu was still hurt by his past with Tai Lung, thinking he was the one at fault for Tai Lung's fall and that's why he was so strict with the Five, and it wasn't until Po showed up that he finally found closure.
In Kung Fu Panda 2, the story was about Po, now a martial artist and the Dragon Warrior, dealing with the trauma of his past and finding inner peace. The Furious Five's role was to show how much Po had progressed in becoming a Kung Fu martial artist, shown by him being good friends with other such martial artists. They were also there to try and help him with his turmoil.
In Kung Fu Panda 3, the story was about Po bonding with his biological father and learning about where he came from. That plot didn't leave anything for the Furious Five to do, hence why they were reduced in the film - aside from Tigress, who basically is just a messenger that Kai is coming.
Moving on to Kung Fu Panda 4, the film is about Po learning to let go of being the Dragon Warrior, becoming the Spiritual Leader of Valley of Peace, and becoming the martial arts master to Zhen, the next Dragon Warrior. Aside from the Five possibly being present at the Manta Ray fight, if they were in the story they'd just have overcomplicated it - ex. looking down on Zhen and making her feel unwanted and therefore not connecting with Po and thus no redemption arc, making Zhen getting the criminals to aid Po irrelevant, making Ping and Lee irrelevant, etc.
There's a rule in storytelling - only add what's needed. If a character contributes nothing to the main plot of the story, don't add them. Hence why the Furious Five were barely in 3.

I also find it interesting that in a movie whose main message is to let change happen and not be stuck in the past, everyone's stuck in the past with wanting Kung Fu Panda 4 to be just like the other 3 with the Furious Five being forced in.
Plus I mean, just wait for Kung Fu Panda 5; Zhen will be established at the Jade Palace by then and therefore the story would naturally allow for her and the Five to have a connection and to explore that connection they'd go on an adventure with her and Po.
Lord Shen is like one of my favourite villains in just movies in general

You know how expensive it is now to hire the 5 high profile actors for the Furious Five? I mean we got Angelina Jolie as Tigress, super expensive actor; Jackie Chan as Monkey, Lucy Liu as Viper, David Cross as Crane, and Seth Rogen as Mantis. All actors in high demand. DreamWorks probably didn’t have a high enough budget to have them back for KFP4

I liked kung foo panda 4 but I felt like something was missing from it.

1. Kung Fu Panda (10/10 - Amazing, and inspiring movie 🙏)
2. Kung Fu Panda 2 (9.5/10 - Not as good as the first but still amazing story)
3. Kung Fu Panda 4 (8/10 - Some of the characters are boring but has some of the best animation and fights I’ve seen)
4. Kung Fu Panda 3 (7/10 - Beautiful animation and great villain but has cheesy writing)

Lord Shen isn't just "A pretty good villain". He is the best villain in Dreamworks IMO by a long shot. Only real competetion is Tai and King Ramses.

I can agree with training arc i think its because of the week by week or with jump giga seasonal(3 months) whole thing because it feels a lot draged on than it should be that if it is all done than it might to it is good because you dont have to wait weeek by week(ex. BM vs. Ubers is better reteading than week by week due to the fact that you can just read it all at once rather than feeling like it will take a century to finish the match)

This is exactly how my ranking is with all the four movies it is incredibly hard for any of these other movies to beat KFU2 it somehow managed to beat KFU1 which is insane to think about it because the first one was very damn good and KFU2 surpassed it easily
