- The Duhare tribe; a tribe discovered in 16th century North America that was Caucasian, and showed many similarities to the ancient Celts. Today, we explore the lost history of the Duhare in South Carolina, see what kind of connections we can make, and where this could potentially lead us in the future.

About 6.5 minutes in and wishing so bad my mom was here to share this with. IM FREAKING. I’m a freckled native w Appalachian roots. This is awesome!!! Thank you! ❤️ ✌🏼
I'm glad you enjoyed this one. I'm freckled too, with family tales of native descent. I personally enjoyed finding this story.
Melungeon perhaps and there are several spellings. Wrecked fishermen from several European peoples marooned on Our Eastern shore and became many of the “Bands” of Indians” ! Established Tribes were older Culture remnants. .

Totally blown away! That was a fascinating history lesson we should've been taught! Awesome video!!
Glad you enjoyed it
It is a perfectly reasonable hypothesis to investigate with an open mind. Whenever Ireland was invaded a certain number of nobles would take to the sea to avoid being conquered. We know a great deal about the ones who wound up in Europe, but there is no reason to assume some didn't sail the other way.
Agreed!!
Also, you should look into the hundreds of sticks with runes carved into them that have been found all over the East Coast and the south of the United States. This being a magical practice to the Swedes in Norwegians. One thing I’m certain of is everything we are taught in school is almost completely opposite of reality and I’m so happy that channels like yours are popping up left and right and creating this discussion for people to ponder who normally would not ever find this information. So I will subscribe and I hope you keep up the good work. You clearly have done your research and I appreciate that.
Thank you so much. Anything weird, strange, and outside of the norm that I can find related to the American South, u try to present here. I'm glad you enjoyed this one.
Me, too. I hope it can keep imparting the truth, the real truth.
@@BARBARYAN. How is this info titled? I would like to read about these items.
This is an awesome video. When you showed the picture of the man with the blue paint on his face, I immediately thought of the Picts. Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s who these tribes came from.
Living in North Georgia for the past two years and even when I’d visit the mountains of Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, I’d always feel such a deep connection with the history of the mountains. One that goes beyond the time of the pioneers. Then I learned that about the Appalachians having once been part of same range as the highlands of Scotland, it all made sense. Someone once told me that I’m deeply connected to my Celtic roots, so it only makes sense that I would feel it in the landscape of the Appalachians.
My dad confirms it too. When he was in the navy, he visited Edinburgh. He says there are parts of north Georgia that reminds him of Scotland.
That is so awesome. The mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina are my favorite places to go for that same reason. I have Scottiah ancestry.

Wow. So my grandfather had his own ancient iron forge in the Appalachian mountains. I'm looking at him differently now. He was 6'8" blue eyes and said our people were here before the first settlers.
No doubt!!! There are a lot of stories like that where even natives talk about people being in Appalachia when they arrived.

I live right along the Pee Dee river. Is interesting.
i'm native to Cherokee County, SC and we don't learn about the Battle of Kings Mountain (half the battleground is in the county) , nor the Battle of Cowpens (the whole battleground is here) so i'm not surprised this subject isn't taught.

Being of the Irish/Scottish bloodline and having read and watched other documentaries of the Irish coming to America long before Columbus, I find these discoveries very intriguing! I think as time goes on there will be many more finds that show my ancestors were indeed here a long, long time ago!
I'm 45% scotch irish, 45% English and 10% indigenous peoples. My ancestors have been here well before 1600s.
Absolutely! No doubt.
Not sure if you’ve heard of this, but this Duhare tribe is possibly related to the Welsh Celtic populations who made it to North America and adopted several Native American Custom and clothing in order to better survive in this much hotter climate. We already know that the Norse made it to Nova Scotia around the 1000s but we are told they quickly abandoned the continent due to being numbered and practically hunted by savage tribes. But there is evidence that shows us one of these Norsemen traveled through the great lakes into Minnesota and established a successful colony. Hence the Minnesota Vikings football team. Countless artifacts were found in this region that are very clearly Scandinavian. But the reason we aren’t taught about these mini white tribes with red hair and long blonde beards is because a substantial number of them mixed with the locals and therefore slowly causing their lineage to become more like the Native Americans of today. There is plenty of evidence here in the south that many of the tribes from the East Coast to Louisiana were in fact European celts.
I remember seeing a lit of the Norse evidence from Minnesota years ago. I believe there were ancient carvings of rune and a sword found in a farm in that area that dated back 1000s of years.
For years, many, including myself, have shared stories about a king named Datha who ruled over a people known as the Duhares. I am pleased to see videos finally being made about the Duhares. This name is associated with Adataneses, also known as "Hadath the Red" because of her reddish hair. Adataneses was married to Japheth, who is thought to be the ancestor of the Thracians, a group characterized by their tall stature and red hair and beards.
When the ancestors of Native Americans arrived, they encountered giant red-haired inhabitants in the Americas. They also spoke of giant black-haired individuals, likely descendants of Ningikuga, Enki's wife, which could explain the name of the land Kuga-ki, believed to be in South America. The Sumerians called themselves "sag-giga," meaning "the black-headed people," a term probably stemming from the contrast between their dark hair and the lighter hair of surrounding peoples, thus highlighting their distinctive dark hair.
The name King Datha seems to echo "adata" from Adataneses, and the Thracians were referred to as the "red man." It is believed that Native Americans originated from Eurasia, which in ancient times fell under the influence of the biblical Japheth. Moreover, the tribal name Duhares is reminiscent of Durrës, a port city located in Albania on the Adriatic coast.
The city of Durrës possesses a rich historical tapestry. Established by Ancient Greek settlers from Corinth and Corcyra in the 7th century BC, alongside the local Illyrian Taulantii tribe, it was originally named Epidamnos. It later became a vital component of the Roman and subsequently the Byzantine Empires. With around 2,500 years of documented history, Durrës is renowned for its archaeological treasures, such as the grand Roman Amphitheatre. The similarity of its name to that of Duhares in South Carolina, and its connection to the Waccamaw Indians, also known as Siouan-a term phonetically close to Suen, also known as Nannar, the son of Enlil and Ki, who is linked to Noah-is striking and suggests more than mere coincidence.
Additionally, the village of Leitir Fura in Scotland translates to 'a plain of oak' or 'slope of the oak.' Another legend identifies Fura as one of Japheth's wives, implying that many of his descendants traveled to Nova Scotia, which means 'New Scotland.' The village of Greenwood in Nova Scotia shares its name with the epithet of King Datha. Moreover, there is a tale about a daughter of Enoch named Leath "Leith," whose story is probably connected to Fura, Japheth's wife, suggesting the origin of the name for the Scottish village of Leitir Fura.
The Norse settlement in Nova Scotia died out due to starvation and disease. The crops they brought from Europe didn't fare well, especially as there was a colder, wetter than usual spell of weather lasting several years causing crop failure as well as sickness among people and livestock.
They were not hunted by the Natives - they refused to trade with them or accept food from them because, in their ignorance, they thought that accepting food from "pagans" would corrupt their souls. In short, they refused the very things that would have saved their lives.
Us Welsh did NOT leave. We kept migrating, and then the colonists came and we continue to come. Much of our migration was trying to escape the oppression of the Anglish, who followed the Romans unsuccessful attempts to completely dominate Wales. You have to imagine that this was a really hard choice for my ancestors to put their lives on the line to cross the Atlantic into the unknown with only stories of relatives overseas, and that choice must’ve been made under tremendous pressure.

That was incredible my friend. I love the wisdom you have. I’ll make sure to read this comment until I memorize the information you’ve given me. This is an interesting story. I wonder why it was left out of teaching when we were learning about the natives in school. At least it was where I attended school. Or I wasn't paying attention😅Thanks for the story! I really enjoyed it.
No, it wasn’t just you. We were never taught about anyone from Europe arriving in America prior to Columbus. I didn’t even know that the Templars came here before Columbus until I was an adult.
If this kind of story was taught in school, I bet a lot more kids would really get into history 😊. I love history!

I love the Columbus got lost comment. 😊 I've heard of these people before, but not the name Duhare. This story was very informative. Thank you for putting it together.
Glad you enjoyed it
I have heard so many different stories about why Columbus ended up where he did in the Americas. His having become lost is an old one. But, I personally don't believe that one, at all. Only one true explanation -- among many cover stories and/or assumations.
Columbus had the aristocrats and monarchy of Spain backing him, so he had plenty of global notoriety by the primitive media of his day. Something earlier visitors to the continent did not have. No telling of how many have preceded him.
This was incredibly interesting. 😮
Thank you!!

There is also a legend of a group that came here from Wales that was led by Prince Modoc. They left Wales around the time that Christianity was taking over. Prince Modoc came here to find a place for his pagan people. He never returned. There were things found on an island in the Ohio River in Kentucky that were said to belong to him.
Madoc was Christian by that time . 562 AD as the story says that Alan Wilson
Wrote much about and more .
Nice! I will look into that. Thank you. I've read some about Modoc before, but never stumbled across the Kentucky link before.
@@DixieAfterDark I read long ago that there was a suit of armor found on an island in the Ohio river that they thought was his. I wish I could remember the source material but it’s been too long.❤️🤗🐝
@@MrPh30 What I read says he was a pagan looking for a place to bring his people because of the Christians. But I’m no expert on him. ❤️🤗🐝
The possibility that Prince Modoc has connections to the Native American Modoc tribe is not far-fetched, considering the similarity between the English rendition of the Welsh name Madawg and "Modoc." Although not universally accepted, research suggests that Eber, associated with the Hebrews, had a mother named Hua-Mu'ak, who married Selah, son of Kainan-a name variant of Cainan. This name bears resemblance to the Kanien'kéha language linked to the Mohawk, pronounced ˈmōˌhôk. Furthermore, Ne'elatama'uk, identified as one of Ham's wives, has a name echoing the Algonquian word for Tomahawk, otomahuk, meaning “to knock down.” The name Hapi, son of Horus, differs by only one letter from the Hopi tribe and is believed to have established the Hapiru tribe of Babylon, also known as Habiru, which phonetically parallels the name Hebrews. Hapi's brothers included Imsety, which is an anagram of the Métis tribe's name, and Duamutef, whose name appears connected to the Duwamish. Qebehsenuef, who married Kebechet, daughter of Anubis, might have influenced the name Quebec. These observations suggest that further research into the true origins of today's Native Americans is warranted.

Could this be the "moon eyed" tribe of South Carolina I once read about? Hazel eyes and light skinned.
There is also the possibility of people (from what is now Europe) island hopping west into North America during the Ice Age when the seas were much lower than today. They would have arrived around the same time as the Native Americans did but were quickly out numbered by the latter.
I have the Moon Eyed people on my list to further research one day soon. I don't know enough yet to know if they could be the same or not.
I have lived in South Carolina all my life and I have never heard of this tribe. I am of Scot/Irish/English/African and Native American decent so this is very interesting to me and I will be doing more research on this tribe. Thank you!!

Thank you for this story. I have often thought that Europeans came over and discovered North America well before Columbus.
For sure. It's just a question as to who was first. There's even stories of the Chinese making it to the west coast before Columbus as well.
Very, very interesting. I'm in the UK but have a huge interest in the Appalachians and the people there.
Good stuff. My mother was adopted in 1949, and had no clue as to her genetics in her youth. She was raised in Colorado but her DNA tests say she is 51% Sami Inuit, and 45% Scottish. Both of her blood parents were in Appalachia 7 generations back starting in the early 1800’s, from two distinct sides of the mountain range. I find it fascinating to think how that came to be, or how she came to be.
I love the Appalachians. I've been to that area probably 17 times. It's definitely a culture like no other that's survived for 100s of years.

There has definitely been some suppressed history! Unfortunately people who did pass on some knowledge have all gone and those they knew or know higher up kept that for their own benefit - probably because they are actually not of those tribe/s - and somehow once in power - decided to have them forgotten.
Definitely. History like that has always interested me.

Thank you for putting this video together with the time and research behind it. I’m sure you are aware of the many mounds and pyramids that predate the Native American tribes and often contain copper tools, sea shell jewelry, and human remains which are scattered across the country. The Native Americans have said they do not know who made these structures. Could they be from people like the Duhares?
That's a good thought. I will do some on different mounds soon. I was reading about some in Mississippi just the other day.
The physical description of the Duhare and the image of the structure they lived in sounds like the Norse people. Historically, the Norse had always been explorers. Could the Duhare have been a mixed group of Norse, Scots, and Irish?
Yes I think it's very possible. The vikings invaded Ireland and scotland. Why wouldn't they have taken the irish and scots with them when Eric the Red sailed to America or even before him.
Very strong possibility, for sure.
@@cynhiacations9879 The Viking Sagas state that two " Scots " ( the word also means Irish ) were put ashore to scout the area.
Very interesting. Some friends and I were hiking around Ceasars Head (not on any trails) and ran across a small mound with a stone placed on it. The only marking on the stone was a carving of a stick man image. I've always wondered who may be buried there. The grave was in a desolate area.
Wow, that's interesting! There's no telling what it is.
They could have smelted bog iron which could be collected locally. A practice that goes back many centuries in the British Isles. The type of furnaces for smelting bog iron dotted the East Coast until the Revolutionary War, when most began to go out of business.
Ah, thank you. Very interesting. That could very well be the case.

Very compelling story about how much of a melting pot North America was long before the Europeans arrived. Great story!

My Fathers family left Scotland in 1511, settling in what would become North Carolina, they where there until sometime between the Revolutionary War and the U.S. Civil War when they moved to an area near Memphis and started a Plantation.
Awesome. 1511? See? Most history leads people to believe stuff like that wasn't that common then. That's cool to know.
I suspect "Dat-ha" wasn't a chief, but a god....The Dagda. And his wife, blue and large as he was could be either Morrigan or the Cailleach. That they dwelt in a stone structure isn't surprising either. Brugh Na Boine was the Dagda's in the myths, until his son Aengus tricked him out of it.
This could very well be. Thanks for that.
What a cool history lesson here. Do you think that the people then travelled though. it's very plausible. There is a lot of evidence to suggest that I find this so fascinating. A lot of tribes did explore and move around . we always just think they stay in one place. Really enjoyed this. My granny used to tell me about a legend of the Welsh prince . Prince Madoc (Also known as Madog) he was also known as the explorer. It was said that he travelled to America in around the 1100's way before Christopher Columbus. I had noticed though someone else had mentioned that below. LOL
A lot of people have brought that up too. I need to look more into those stories as well.
