After relistening to the episode I've actually come around a bit on Vito's magazine idea. There def is something to having a physical book. In college like 5yrs I recall a number of people surprising prefering the physical textbook vs the digital so there may be an actual demand. And to Dicks point about lining up for a new video game, Dick is very wrong about the "event" of a new game not being a draw to buy it. For example Helldivers 2 is huge rn and my main draw to it is based around the memes and how passionate people are being about the game lore and RP. It should also be mentioned that Dick's opinion on video games should be taken with a LARGE grain of salt because he ONLY plays Mario World. Only problem is I think It really would have to be a fulltime job to make it's success last.
And the main draw for the magazine should be that it's collected articles from individuals from all corners of the internet, many who you really have to go out of your way to find. But I think the only way the magazine gets big is if it's not done in tandem with the website. Have previews of the articles on the site and or give out a free one. The audience can participate in like contests or activities that get them to interact with the site. But it's tough to say of there'd be a big demand for the physical copies.
