Wow. When she starts stomping her feet and waving her arms at the end, she's straight up singing praises to Glory. She's singing her heart out! The audience ain't even there anymore in her mind. She just left the planet and went straight up to the stars to sing to Jesus, and she took us all with her. That was no performance. That was real time praise singing right there. If ever I saw eyes full of Christ's light within, it was hers during this song.

As I listened to this song, I had a little mini revelation. When I heard the line that went "Mary did you know when you kissed your baby boy that you kissed the face of God." And I thought, how beautiful, our pure & holy God, who even the angels around the throne cover their faces because of His holiness, through Christ got to experience for the first time, the feel of a mother's love for her child & the kiss of that mother on His cheek. What a precious moment for Him to experience. I love that, isn't it gorgeous. I never thought of it before in this way, but God got to experience so many things that human beings, His children, go through because of Christ. Good & bad, but how precious that His first touch was of a mother holding her newborn son and kissing His face. It brings tears to my eyes.

It's amazing that Dolly's voice has changed very little over the years. She's one of the few performers who truly has universal appeal. There may be people who say they don't care for country music.....but I don't know anyone who can say they don't love Dolly Parton.

The sound quality and Dolly's voice are so good that it sounds like the song must have been pre-recorded in a studio. However, there's no way anyone could lip-sync that well. I've always appreciated and respected her voice and talent, but this performance has given me an even deeper reverence for her. What an incredibly gifted vocalist and amazing human being.
My greatest joy is that Dolly Parton has used her God's given talents to appreciate the Messiah. At 74 still looking like 45, that is the joy of serving the Lord. May God continue to bless you Dolly, love from Italy.

I just started playing the video. I’m sure Pentatonix will beat her in terms of having a more majestic arrangement, but I know Dolly Parton and it will be hard to compete with her in terms of lyrical delivery. Mark Lowry sang this song with Voctave a few years ago, and he’s the song writer of the song and he can really bring those lyrics to life in ways that nobody else can. Not to mention his voice is extremely powerful and amazing.

When I was a little girl I thought that you wrote the song; “Coat of Many Colors, “ for me because my mom was given a box of cloth squares that were too little for a quilt by my Aunt Delores and made a little coat for me sewing by hand to wear to school. I was in Kindergarten and the kids all laughed at me. My parents didn’t have money for a coat and mom thought that this would take care of my need for a coat 🧥. It was pretty and warm. Old time plumbers were hard to convince and even hard to convince when you are 20-25 years old. After all, what did I know. I'm just a girl. Feom SA....First time I heard Dolly when I was very little...begged my dad to buy her record after hearing her on radio. His words, 'Bernie hope she is good otherwise I'll be very cross with you"! I was 100 percent sure he would love her voice. He put her record on and he was blown away. She is and has always been my number one female vocalist....I don't know and never met her but I know her beautiful heart through her singing... God willing some day I will meet her, if not here then in a heavenly place. After 40 years of singing behind closed doors I'm finally stepping out, she is such an inspiration to me and others all over the world. We are so privileged to have had her music around. She will NEVER grow old on me. God has blessed her with an amazing gift.

It brought tears to my eyes knowing that when Jesus was born so small, so gentle and beautiful, that when He was a Man, He would be ridiculed, had people give false witness against Him, beat and bloody Him until He was unrecognizable and then hang Him on a Cross to die. By the very people that He helped, fed and received Miracles from Him.
