The costume department rocks. -with a caveat… I get artistic license, but the burning end is not on the filter. That would make for a pretty interesting smoking experience. Oh dear. I’ve gone and jackaled on an SNL sketch. Damn you, Seth & Corrections!
The headlines on Frozen and rizz felt like they were written for Che, but the writers thought it would be hilarious to have Colin give them a go, and it was. Props to Michael Longfellow for being the coolest guest to the update yet !!
They need to use Longfellow much more. I can't think of one sketch where he wasn't good in his part, and the ones where he's a lone character like this, or where he's one of the main people in a sketch and not a small part, he's always hilarious in. Its that classic dry humor snl that we love and miss a lot. Too many of the sketches are just goofy now, and yes I know snl has always had that too, but its when they balance them both like they do here, that a sketch becomes golden and a classic... I think old school cigarette should definitely keep making appearances 🤘😜
I'll echo everyone here pretty much - more of him! He's got that Mulaney / Hader sort of vibe (that's meant as a massive compliment) - I think this new cast is really interesting, diverse, and I love how unique everyone is, bringing something to the table... the sketches have been great and diverse as far as "comedy tastes" go... it's gotten more surreal and absurdist which I love. I'm really eager to see this new cast and writing team progress!
This! I really love this new cast, it’s very well rounded, and all are hilarious imo. Most of the time, it’s the writing of the sketch that makes it bad, and the cast always goes above and beyond to try and make the sketch work.
I think also, when people think back to earlier SNL, there's a bit of nostalgia goggles, and I can admit that as one of the few people I know who RELIGIOUSLY watches SNL and has been a fan since childhood in the 90s/2000s - there were a LOT of clunker sketches that DRAGGED a one-note premise. I think comparatively, newer seasons since the Hader/Armisen/Wiig era have gotten sharper, quicker, more absurd and left-field (which I like as a fan of Kids in the Hall, The State, Tim and Eric, Noel Fielding, etc) so I really appreciate the tonal change that's more modern and not just parodies of popular media *though they do those as well!* - I think this series always thrives when they take chances, they cast people with big distinct personalities and expressions and can bring something special to the table. I'm all on board and I love Che and Colin's schtick, they're kinda the first time I've actively sought out WEEKEND UPDATE sketches.
How they got through this segment is beyond me! 10 minutes of non stop laughing! Thank you!😂😂😂😂🎉❤🎉❤🎉 And tell me that cigarette companies don't covertly say that shit to kids! 😂😂😂😂😂
I’ve said it before and I will say it say it again. Weekend Update posted in its entirety remains the best way to start a Monday Morning. Cigarettes are so good we are dessert for sex. So true

“Oh, defend him.” WAS GOLD lmfaooo.
Did anyone else notice the little bit of smoke coming out of the cigarette costume? The costume department really went all out on this one!
Yeah, I noticed. They really go the extra mile.

He hit "DORKS!" hard enough to shake a core memory loose lol
Yep. You have to be old enough where smoking was still cool.
Brings you back.
The headlines on Frozen and rizz felt like they were written for Che, but the writers thought it would be hilarious to have Colin give them a go, and it was. Props to Michael Longfellow for being the coolest guest to the update yet !!
I’m glad Michael Longfellow is getting more screen time! He’s so funny!
Also is bae
I love how is name also describes his physical appearance
Every time i look at your face i think of the same
he’s also kinda…😼😩
Haven’t you read the New Yorker? He is handsome, he can’t be funny.
The segment of SNL that never disappoints! 😅🤣😂
Agree
The traffic stop joke was one of the funniest!
Colin & Longfellow had me CRYING 🤣 thanks for posting WU in its entirety!!
I love the dynamics between Colin and Michael...I hope they never stop doing weekend updates. Lol
Bravo to Longfellow! Loved the skit!!!

This cigarette character is one of the funniest things I've seen on SNL in years.
I hate smoking completely, but this skit was hysterical! 😀 Hope that Old-Fashioned Cig character appears again!
I wanna know what Michael did off camera to make everyone crack up 😂
he probably fell lmao that outfit looks awkward to try to walk in

Micheal Longfellow is coming into his own this season! Love to see it!

Michael Longfellow did a great job, wonderful addition to the cast! 🤩
OMG! This was so funny I almost lost it. When they talked about Gorge Santos, that was crazy and I'm here for it.
Michael always plays the craziest characters on weekend update 😂😂

This was absolutely hilarious! I have tears rolling down my face!
Longfellow killed it! Pun intended. 😅 I literally watch SNL for Weekend Update and have never been disappointed.
Without a doubt, my favourite segment from SNL. I just love Jost & Che's chemistry.

That cigarette bit killed. Damn lol.
Thank you for posting the Update as one video
They always do, on Monday. Sunday is just snippets.

Thanks SNL for starting to air in India! Hated using VPN all this while! Great Diwali gift!!🎉
Wow, I haven't watched much SNL this season so wasn't familiar with this Michael Longfellow. He was cracking me up!
Michael Longfellow killed this episode.
Longfellow has amazing delivery
I was waiting for them to cut to Che with the story “Colin Jost defends Hitler”
I would have DIED 😂😂
We need this entire segment posted weekly, it’s so damned good
It literally does get posted every week. You're welcome.
Every Monday SNL posts it whole. Don't know why it takes less time to post it in bits...
I’ve rarely seen the whole thing on here, usually just partial segments which is less preferable. I’d much rather watch the whole thing
@@igorschmidlapp6987That's not the reason. They want more views.

Yeah, I don't think Davidson is funny at all.
Longfellow is way funnier than Davidson
Snl still got it. Despite the perennial complaint that ‘it ain’t like it used to be’

Thank you for making this just one video instead of two videos cut up!
They always do that.
I love his "Hamburger Helper" three-fingered hands.
Damn tough crowd this weekend, that cheer (0:13) was louder than all the laughs during the sketches combined!
Weekend Update remains the only consistently funny part of SNL. The rest of the show has been horrible mediocre, at best.
