wow great work capturing it. Im guessin the are old rail way tracks were connecting to the old port in the city the outer suburbs. Hope you do one in on a years time
The line through the shunting yards was for delivering coal to the White Bay power station and also for coal and other bulk material to be loaded onto ships in White Bay. The line went to Dulwich Hill which connected to country lines
I’m fascinated that it took major roadworks to pay for the transformation of a decaying brownfield site right on Sydney Harbour into parkland. Sydneysiders has no respect for the beautiful place in which they live.
Stunning document, Fred. I'll be very interested to see a future flyover to see if this major gash in the urban landscape was worth it. Maybe in 10-20 years the neighbouring communities will like it?

Agreed. However it will soon be a wonderful park for everyone. Better late than never....

The new park will be permanent compensation for the years of disruption to the locals
Fantastic work Fred. Keep it up!
Many thanks!
Good job.
Thanks!
Love your work, much appreciated mate
Which one is your house Fred ?
I'm not from the area. Just interested in the transformation but the new park will be great for locals
BTW I prefer the peace and quiet and beauty of the old shunting yard ... great vid Fred !
True but at least the new park will be a boon for the locals
