  • Day in the life of a plumber
    A few jobs in this episode as I swap out a leaking radiator valve on a large vented system. I should have been more patient with this one or come back when the system was cold but everything turned out Ok, I also sort a gas leak and drain down a house that has been flooded.
    As always, thanks for all the support, it is greatly appreciated

    So a mate of mine, new to the plumbing business did exactly what you did and scolded his hands. He had to go to hospital and we went back to get his tools and next to his tools look like shredded surgical gloves, but we found out later it was his skin. He had severe burns to his hands, be careful mate, true story.

    Good video Tom technically you didn’t break bond with the bracket in 🤣 and I’ve stopped TT on all services just double TT on fires and bbu and a min TT on boilers on the p1, and a full TT on cp12 once you do the TT you have to purge and relight every appliance and that usually involves more paperwork and explanations on why it’s not been installed properly 😂 and don’t get me started on the permissible drop 4mb, 8 mb old appliances, new appliances load of knob cheese in all cases your not allowed drop on the pipe work, so that means that somewhere on the installation is an appliance with a passing gas valve that has a safety device that has failed 😂😂 but that’s ok as long as you don’t smell it 🤣🤣🤣 rant over keep up the good work 👍

    Why was header tank inaccessible? I’d have been bunging that all day long. You mentioned freezing if you have freezer kit why not use it for this reason? You do a lot of good work but this just seems like one of them jobs that could/should have been prepared better. We all have days like this though it’s easy to stand back and criticise. You must have balls like King Kong though lol not sure I’d have dared doing it like that.

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  2 месяца назад +1

      The header tank was above the suspended ceiling in the main hall, it would have needed a triple extender ladder to get up it. It would have needed footing as well because it was a polished floor. I could have froze it but the pipe was so hot it would have needed to cool first. In the end I did what I thought was best at the time, thanks for watching, it is greatly appreciated 👍
