I've been towing since 1995. I have always believed and practiced that if we don't complete the service there is no charge. I signed up for the group. Been working to get a truck ready for recoveries.
That’s how it should be. Some of these tow companies are taking advantage of people while they’re desperate. That’s why I created these off-road recovery groups. We appreciate your support. Send me a message on Facebook if you can and I can probably send you some gear to use.
Thank you for the service you provide. As a new off roader/ over lander I’ve been taken advantage of due to be stuck not far from civilization but had no other choice due to having my young family with me. I called a tow truck and they had me do most of the work yet charged me 200 an hour but could have gotten me out in a matter of 15 min. My first time taking my truck down a dirt road and had no idea what I was doing. Been watching a lot of videos and research and haven’t had much issues I can’t make out myself. Thank you for the videos and helping others
*IT'S HARD FOR A COMPANY TO TAKE A HIT AND LOSE MONEY WHEN THEY SEND A TRUCK OUT* *NOW IF YOUR TOWING FOR YOURSELF* *THEN THAT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY* *BUT THIS COMPANY CHARGING $6900* *WITHOUT EVEN COMPLETING THE JOB* *IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD* 🤔😑
Yep if you didn’t complete the job you can’t charge I’d tell em too take me to court! And bring this video for proof of them not doing the job. That someone else had to do it and done it for free.
That's good business ethics. I thought it was very cool/reasonable of the man when he said he sent that tow company a check for 2G's even though they didnt get him out. Tow company is fortunate to have gotten anything. Hope they recognize that..
Just saw video while i was working in upstate new york running a generator at 3am waiting for commercial power to b restored, great what u do ( volunteer) to help others in need. God bless👍🇺🇸
Being a land surveyor for 16 years . I’ve buried our f250 company truck several times in some bad places , we always used an off road recovery service and was never billed more than 500.00 . The one time we only had towing services to choose from minimum 2000.00 😂. Got on social media and in 5 minutes had 4 people on the way for no charge , 2 hours later we were out and we just tipped everyone 500.00 to split between them .
I've been part of the Rio Grande Valley Mud and Sand Recovery team for nearly a decade. We may not get snow, but we get bad beach weather and are always on the arm about distress posts on the RGVMSR fb page. Good job fellas.
Thanks for doing the 4x4 recoveries. Those of us who enjoying traveling of pavement will need to get recovered someday! I know I have recovered my share of vehicles over the years. Nice Jeeps!
Nice looking truck I have a AT4 just like that..when I was younger I had a lot of trucks ,bronco s my best was my 79 bronco with a 4 speed manual and 40 mudders I loved that truck and back then they didn’t cost much to buy and build.my new truck cost to much to go crazy and I grew up..4 wheeling is a lot of fun
Can’t believe they sent him a 6500 dollar bill for a job that didn’t get completed. Not to mention, left the dude hanging after picking up his gear. SMH. Small Claims Court you go. Bet he probably billed him for the stuff that broke on his truck. Tow companies are unbelievable. Glad y’all helped him and glad to know there are good people out there just doing good things. #payitforward Love the channel. Keep up the good content.
$6500 to not get him out? And hit his truck with a strap. I can’t see how they can charge him anything to not get him out. Criminal. Glad there are good people out there like you.
They should post the name of the tow company so that everyone will know who NOT to do business with in the future... You hire them for a service (i.e. to get your vehicle out of the situation and to a place where you can drive on your own). If they do not accomplish that, then they do not deserve to get paid. You don't hire them to ATTEMPT to get you out since that gives them no incentive to complete the task. I'm sure they want to get paid for their time, even if they fail, but if they are not sure they can complete the task, then they shouldn't accept the job. Maybe they should have some sort of "conditional completion" contract with the customer -- $5/hr for ATTEMPTING to rescue the vehicle and $XXX (or maybe $XX/hr) if they are successful? Need to give them some incentive to complete the job that they agreed to in the first place.
Insane what tow companies can charge. I talked AAA into getting me when my clutch went out, during a rescue of course. I was close enough to the road foe their winchline to reach me. Was an expensive rescue but we learned a lot, everyone got out and that is what mattered. Awesome rescue!
That just happened to us two days ago! Got stuck. Hiked up to get cell signal. Search and Rescue got us out. Vehicle is still there. The surrounding looks exactly like this. Rescue team had to use an Argo to get to us. We are just thinking what to do...
Awesome job guys!!!! ,,, but really disappointing for that trail boss! My guess is that traction control and stability trac were not turned off. Two big 👍🏼 for what u guys do!
Great video! Men of good heart are always king. I look forward to joining your group (or a group) as soon as I am competent to do so. (chops and rig) I own a lifted 4Runner with MT's.
@@robertpotrykus8739 I’d leave the truck until the snow melts. Never off-road a vehicle you aren’t willing to lose, at least for a season. I wouldn’t pay the tow charge and turn them into the attorney general. He didn’t even deliver.
Never rescued anyone from snow (I'm in the SE Texas Gulf Coast area, so we don't do snow here), but I've helped a few people over the years who got stuck in mud because they tried to cut across the grass area between the highway and the feeder road (and they didn't realize that the ground was too soft for 2WD vehicles) because traffic was tied up because of a wreck or something way up ahead... They always ask how much they owe me for the help and I tell them "nothing, just return the favor to someone else in the future"... But, unlike you guys, I'm not really going out of my way to go help someone since I'm already there stuck in traffic also... And besides, rescuing them gives me a legitimate excuse to cut across the grass to the feeder road so that I can continue on the feeder road after I've helped them... :) Don't need 4WD all the time, but it's nice to have it when you need it...
No way Id pay that recovery bill especially if they didn't get me out. I wouldn't have even paid the $2000. The tow company didn't bring the right tool for the job thats on them. Good on you Jeep guys taking your time to go up there and get him out.
I live in So cal. When it snows up at Big Bear the hiway fuzz won't let you through without snow chains. If I ever go up to your part of the country there's two things I'm taking for sure. Tire chains and a kinetic rope.
So the tow truck shows up, breaks your window, gets stuck, leaves you stuck, and then charges you almost 7 grand? That might be the most California thing I've heard
Yeah the tow companies are outrageous for pricing, I do have to say that that road your traveling in on looks much like half the roads in out county and we have had -45 for the last three weeks and many inches of blowing snow during that same time! That why 50% of vehicles here are lifted diesels with aggressive M&S tires on them! Have fun boys!
Well done! I was wondering why you had the other Jeep behind? I would figure that having the other Jeep in front of the tow Jeep would allow you all more options if the tow Jeep got stuck.
If the tow vehicle got stuck with tension on the line it’s easier for me to pull up beside the vehicle that’s being towed and winch or yank the tow vehicle back. It’s much harder to pull both vehicles at the same time. Plus, it’s better for the video for me to be behind them.. I can always pull upfront and daisy chain together if needed.
Most people don't know about towing; car rentals, etc. Let's say you wreck a rental car and don't get full rental insurance on it just LIABILITY you are on the hook for towing; repairs AND THE DAYS THAT DAMAGED CAR IS UNABLE TO BE RENTED OUT... SOOoo the rental company could care less how long it takes to fix that car. You're paying for repairs and loss of income on it. Pretty much the same with a tow truck! They're working for you, they're on the clock from the time they leave their shop until the time they return. Your personal car insurance should tell you to obtain full coverage from the rental car company. Tow trucks could be a grey area for the customer.
That’s the first thing I do is have them turn off traction control and air down. There was some deep ruts in some areas. I was bottoming out in the Jeep so there’s no way he was making it under his own power.
New Z71's only have a rear locker, which is ridiculous for a truck called a trail boss. I read something about independent front suspension so no locker.
He mentioned it at the end. He sent a check for 2k and suggested they take him to court if they have a problem with that. I wouldn't have paid a dime personally, especially after they broke his window.
You guys interested in snow wheeling out Icehouse, Loon Lake area this Friday (4/9)? I want to get my new-to-me '07 FJ into the snow before it melts, and it's Always better to have a couple vehicles!
Love off reading a got a 2003 slt 5.9 gas Lifted 4 inch looked at the back and 35 on A want to look the front and make a snorkel and light ont the top souun
That’s awesome man!! Great recovery and really dig your out to help us guys that’s stuck without charging and arm and leg cause we all broke these days! My buddy has a Trail Boss he call it a Trail Bitch 🤣🤣🤣
i don't know, seems like some $100 traction plates would have gotten them out of situation. Or even some straps and a hi-lift. You always take some emergency equipment especially when facing snow.....
I think it did have a rear locker but none of us were aware of it at the time. Either way it wouldn’t have helped much, ground clearance was the limiting factor

I love snow wheeling just for the recoveries, it’s a blast just going for it then the recovery of whoever couldn’t make it.
I've been part of the Rio Grande Valley Mud and Sand Recovery team for nearly a decade. We may not get snow, but we get bad beach weather and are always on the arm about distress posts on the RGVMSR fb page. Good job fellas.
Feels good being The Man, awesome job, easy work for the jeep with lockers

i cant believe you guys do it for free.. thats amazing.. i would definitely give you $500 and a handshake for your services.. thats incredible
I love seeing dogs in their natural element! They were happy as hell!
$6500 to not get him out? And hit his truck with a strap. I can’t see how they can charge him anything to not get him out. Criminal. Glad there are good people out there like you.
@Osoriver that’s why they hide behind bulletproof glass when you go to pick up your vehicle at their storage lot.

This is great there are some of us still willing to. Do a good deed

30+ yrs On the National Ski Patrol (Retired) ... I get it ... Thank you 👍
and they did it for FREE ! Great Job !
Awesome job guys!!!! ,,, but really disappointing for that trail boss! My guess is that traction control and stability trac were not turned off. Two big 👍🏼 for what u guys do!
Yep my thoughts too traction control wasn't turned off, you can see it one tire spinning and not the others great job do.
My 2wd 2500 RAM worked better with it on, because off was just digging me deeper.
super interesting video. thank you.
Great recovery. Great video. Great people
Rhino straps pretty awesome work great 👍
This is so impressive. Love it.
Great job! Subscribed! Like your line "I hate this place". Lol.
You do this to help people and restore faith in humanity. You have my 👍🏾 and subscription!
It's very awesome to go out and help people there still is some good people left.
I hope he gets reimbursed or he fights it. He seems like humble guy.
Goodrich KO2 tires for snow fun.
They saved my ass a few times.
Good recovery
You guys are brave and amazing. I'm a white knuckle driver in snow and can't fathom driving on roads that bad.😳
Very nice job guys. That fellow deserved much better customer service from the other tow company. 🇨🇦
I got stuck out there last year lol. Not fun. Snow up to the doors and everytime we dug and winched out we got stuck a few feet ahead again.
Yeah I’ve had 10 vehicles stuck at the same time up there. Usually when you can’t go any farther and everyone has to turn around, most get stuck.
Great video! Men of good heart are always king. I look forward to joining your group (or a group) as soon as I am competent to do so. (chops and rig) I own a lifted 4Runner with MT's.
Great job guys
I didn't know there is still Great people out there, Awesome job
That’s awesome that you go out of your way for free. I usually ask for gas money lol
$6500 and they didn't do anything for him. Can they make him pay when they didn't deliver? Great job, you guys did it.
That tow company needs to have a fraud complaint turned in on them.

If the towing company didn’t do the job you definitely do not pay them.
Thanks for sharing!
Great job. Incredible quick video edit too
Great job guys! Send this video to the tow company. 6900 and didn't even complete the job. foh
Oh man, good to know guys like you in my area, I’ve got a stock Tacoma and it gets squirrelly sometimes
No way Id pay that recovery bill especially if they didn't get me out. I wouldn't have even paid the $2000. The tow company didn't bring the right tool for the job thats on them. Good on you Jeep guys taking your time to go up there and get him out.

Such a great group you have put together!
You guys are awesome!!!! I'll spread the good word! New subscriber
Cool video, honourable hobby, will watch more of your videos now that stumbled across your channel
Thanks! Definitely trying to make as many videos as possible.
Love the video man! Love being outside! The dunes here in Oregon always have someone needing a little pull!
Watching this 11 months later living close to this area and gas prices are almost double I wish they were 3.99 a gallon lol
Right!
Nice job guys.
Great job guys. 👌
Need some more throttle to get that G80 locked in. Awesome stuff y’all are doing and great video
Yup, truck should honestly do pretty good in the snow. Driver’s lack of experience and skill got him stuck
did awesome job hats too y’all
Great reason go out and go playin even though you are doing a service your also Snow Wheeling and that's always fun
Incredibly beautiful Forestry maybe someday you could do a recovery for me local area Ontario Oregon
Nice work

I'd tell them to kick rocks.
That's crazy to me . You at the gas station with no snow talking about a snow recovery. I live in Michigan. When it snows it snows everywhere
Sacramento doesn’t get snow, you go an hour up to Lake Tahoe and they get 20’ of snow..lol
yes great for you you help

I think he would have made it out on his own or with a tug had he disabled traction control which it looks like it was enabled in the video.
That’s the first thing I do is have them turn off traction control and air down. There was some deep ruts in some areas. I was bottoming out in the Jeep so there’s no way he was making it under his own power.
Why is the traction control detrimental in this situation?

Wish I could make it, we’re going to Prairie City this weekend. You would probably get more snow up Mormon Emigrant than what icehouse has.

hell yeah!! awesome job Guys!!!
Cleanest stuck vehicle ever!
Man... 3.99 that's cheep... I'm in southern Cali and it's stupid expensive. Yeah "good ol California" 🤦♂️
Excellent video.
Yeah that video is old
Awesome work man!!!
Thanks man! You're doing awesome things! 👌 great video!!
Thanks!
Great job!

Bless your heart
Good job!
Poor guy sent a check for 2k. That is more then generous.
You guys should put that tow company on blast for doing that.
Guy in the truck should always a container of pre mixed ICE MELT and KITTY LITTER
Great work!
That Z71 trail boss doesn't have lockers? My 2013 has G80's front/ rear.
That truck should at least have the g80 locker in the rear unless GM stopped putting in that year truck. My 2017 has it.
I think it did have a rear locker but none of us were aware of it at the time. Either way it wouldn’t have helped much, ground clearance was the limiting factor
Ought to be mandatory. All raptors stay out of snow and sand. Lol. Always getting towed out. Air down people.
You guys are awesome
Great video thank you!
Good job . I hope to join your team and rescue for free .
