    Who knew that E. J. could do a dead on Miss Piggy impression. Fun fact Jim Cummings, the voice of Darkwing Duck is also the voice of Winnie the Pooh.

    Gosh, the nostalgia! I was also like "What is this.... OH WOW IT'S THIS SONG!!!"
    I was born in 1980, so I always thought I was more of an 80s cartoon kid, but all of these hit me hard. My parents would tape record DuckTales for us, and we had literally EVERY episode, a whole bookshelf of VHS tapes just for DuckTales. I would rewatch these, over and over, to the annoyance of my (muuuch older) siblings. When my sister used one of the tapes to record something on MTV, I burst into tears. It was like she took my favorite book and ripped out 5 chapters just to write a shopping list.

    These make me feel old. I was 9 in 1990 and I remember all of these. If I woke up on Sat. morning after Muppet Babies was over, my day was ruined.

    Gosh, so many of these songs were nostalgic for me! Looking at my own list, it appears that even when I was a child, most of what I watched was 80s repeats and a lot less Disney than I expected! LOL I can almost guarantee that the stuff that I remember most people won't because the British do things differently! LOL
    Thank you so much DJ for picking such a fun and nostalgic medley! I LOVE that EJ Cardona did the Miss Piggy voice. That was TALENT. I wasn't expecting that... This both reminded me of how young you are (grr grr etc etc) and made me grin every single time you had that lightbulb moment and recognised the song! #HerdLove

    TaleSpin is early 90´s but also part of the popular disney Afternoon. Part of main cast are reused characters from the Jungle Book, namely Baloowho is here a pilot running a cargo company, King Louis as quirky sidekick and Shere Khan as a businessman. Not quite a villain here. But right after it had Darkwing Duck and Duck Tales, so TaleSpin overshadowed by it.
    Also yes, that recurring Oh-ee-yeah in quick sucession is part of the intro. So it went that hard! But only once at the end. Voctave does it 2 times.

  • @ForeverDegenerate
    @ForeverDegenerate 4 месяца назад +3

    @DJ
    I'm pretty sure you know Talespin. You should look it up and see if you recognize it. I'd be surprised if you legit didn't because you recognized, literally, every show that aired with it. There was a block of Afternoon Cartoons in the 90's called "The Disney Afternoon." This block consisted of DuckTales, Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers, and TaleSpin. They would later add Darkwing Duck and Goof Troop among others. The fact that you know both DuckTales and Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers, it's nearly an impossibility that you don't also know TaleSpin.
    Also, I find it interesting that Voctave included "Muppet Babies" as part of their "Disney 90's Medley" because, ummm... Disney didn't make "Muppet Babies." That was way back when Jim Henson still owned "The Muppets." In Modern Day, sure, Disney owns the Muppet Franchise and, thus, they own "Muppet Babies," but, personally, I would never consider "Muppet Babies" as part of the "Disney 90's." For that matter, how the heck do you not recognize TaleSpin, but you recognized "Muppet Babies," a Cartoon that ENDED BEFORE YOU WERE BORN? It's final Season was in 1991. Same with Gummi Bears, now that I think about it. Gummi Bears also ended its run in 1991.

    Out of all the shows sung Gummi Bears is the show that holds up the most. Incredible storytelling and lore. You gotta watch all of it. They really get into the lore of the Gummis especially in later seasons.

    I don't quite understand why but the Gummi Bears bit always makes me weirdly emtional, even though I never really watched it. There's just something so joyful about it and it makes me very happy.
    (Random side note: the Dancing Through Life section of Voiceplay's Wicked medley makes me think of the Gummi Bears theme. I don't know why.)

    I love the vocals, but I know/knew nothing about Disney TV in the 90s. So, not knowing the songs isn't really a drawback... I focus more on Jamey's arrangements and the amazing vocals! Great reaction!

    Bit surprised you didn´t know Goof Troop. maybe not the series but the two movies are very well known. A refresher - it´s about Goofy as family man and Pete as his cranky neighbor. Pete here not a villain. Son of Goofy best buddies with Pete´s son. This series and especially movies are THE representation of 90´s regarding trends.

      @ I figured. The movies are sequels because Max and P.J. still went to college in the series. FYI I too am hardcore Smurf so didn´t watch Gummybears until much later. Also because i´m from Belgium, birthplace of the Smurfs, them far bigger here.

      @kibildis1177 I would have imagined Dylan might have seen one of the reruns that went until 2005. But as a hardcore Power Ranger fan he likely only interested in that by that time? ^^
