- Traveling by train has been always a pleasure, where we can leisurely spend time relishing the changing landscape disconnected from all our work. If you are an offbeat traveler, you will have all the more pleasure enjoying the nature’s beauty. One of the most glorious journeys through Western Ghats which I have ever travelled was the train journey from Bengaluru to Mangalore, which was an unforgettable experience.
The excitement of the journey started from Subrahmanya and continued till Sakleshpur. The time spent between these two stations promises an unforgettable experience of Western Ghats. Marvellous views of the tropical evergreen Shola forests that blended with the verdant valleys, gentle waterfalls nestled in the folds of the hills, gushing streams, breath-taking bridges and endless tunnels. Yedakumari is the midpoint station that comes between Subrahmanya and Sakleshpur. Picturesque beauty of the steep gradients from Yedakumari displays nature at its best.
The 16515/Yesvantpur-Karwar Express has an average speed of 39 km/h and covers 610 km in 15h 30m. The 16516/Karwar-Yesvantpur Express has an average speed of 41 km/h and covers 610 km in 15h

Wow, just unbelievable. Because I had been to Mangalore many years back ie, during my college days with my colleague. But it was so hot we couldn't resist. But now watching this video I don't know whether it is Mangalore or Ooty or Kodaikanal. Perhaps I might have gone in summer. Any way thanks for your wonderful video and thanks to utube team.

Ganesh bhi koiambtore me ho kya ap
Beautiful video to watch the natural sceneries enroute. First I travelled in this route when it was under Metergauge traction. Also travelled a couple of times after conversion to broadgauge. The route is yet to be electrified, hence diesel locos are in use.

@@jitendrakharva437 i think it's difficult to get electrified. In these ghat section landslides happens frequently on tracks during monsoon. Almost it takes 1.5 to 2hr to cross this western ghats in normal days. Avg train speed would be 20-30kmph.

You have forgotten to say something about Yedekumeri Station between SKLP and SBHR. This station is very famous to enjoy the surrounding picturesque sceneries accompanied by eating some delicious snacks available at its platform cafeteria. All the trains have halt in this station.

few years back crossing was not allowed now they improved section....only when train reaches sakaleshpura,or subramanyam road other trains were allowed to pass, including passenger trains

At 2.2 mins the train passes under a bridge. That bridge connects HMT main factory which is on the right side and HMT watch factory to the left. The tracks cut right through the HMT complex . I was born there. In my childhood days it was a meter gauge with a single track. Now it's broad gauge with 2 tracks

You said you traveled on this train on July 22nd, 2023, which was a Saturday, but this train only runs 3 days a week, i.e., Monday, Wednesday and Friday, how is it possible?🤔🤔
