its crazy to think how close the US and UK are as allies. There is rarely a conflict we aren't both in together. And you see examples like this where US marines are onboard the most advanced British Ship, just as if they were British. There is literally not a shred of dis-trust between the two nations. The only other examples of this really are Canadians and Australians who the British and US obviously share a strong bond with.
As a former Royal Marine of 24 years service I am not surprised by this we have very close cooperation with the USMC. We have USMC at our Commando Training Centre as we also have Marines in the US of A. This is cross fertilization of ideas and comradeship. The USMC at our Camp pass the Commando course to serve there. 41 Commando served in Korea and was at the Chosen reservoir.
The US Navy and USMC would love to have the Royal Navy built up to its former glory. It was very nice of the queen to meet some of the Americans. It means a lot.

Her Majesty did a wonderful job here and it must’ve been a huge treat for everyone to welcome her on board the ship named after herself which she christened a few years ago. Glad though that HMS Queen Elizabeth will now go on her first full deployment since going through all of her test runs. I don’t want to be that guy though, but why are there U.S. Navy men on board are UK flagship in the first place? As it does feel a little bit odd. I do believe that a US destroyer arrived in Portsmouth the other day but I still don’t exactly see why it’s relevant! Not unless it’s designed to be a final celebratory meeting for them before we all deploy for the South China Sea as part of the large carrier strike group.
I believe the strike group will depart in some time. The US Marines onboard the Queen Elizabeth are part of VMFA-211, an F-35B squadron which will train and operate alongside a British F-35 squadron (10 American + 8 British).
In a word= politicians. The RN has been underfunded since the 50s, subject to flip flopping political agendas, and for too long the 3 services had to fight over ever diminishing resources. I'm not knocking the RN, it has great people and some great ships, but there are some glaring resource and capability gaps. The USMC and USN are filling them. There are some benefits from it. The UK will learn faster how to operate a CSG with US contribution as its been years since we last had one. China will think twice before any silly business with US forces onboard. The USMC is in the process of re-defining itself after years in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I suspect we will see forces embed like this with allies like the UK, Japan, Australia more often in future. The USN carriers have been hard worked over the last few years and several need extended maintenance; by helping the UK get up to speed with a CSG the 'good guys' gain a carrier back.
In case you haven't noticed the UK is no longer a Super Power - two World Wars saw to that. So the next best thing is to have an understanding by the Super Power the baton was passed onto to represent the Free World of democracies. Unfortunately there are wannabes Super Powers out there in opposition who threaten the UK so to have security onboard provided by the US is welcome and necessary.🇬🇧🤝🇺🇸

Party or state-owned businesses are also by definition public not private sector even if they are run on a for-profit basis. China is certainly communist though in as far as they are a Leninist party-state that claims to be Marxist. Chinese communism is however now less of a stand-alone ideology than a component of Chinese nationalism.
Prince Charles is already doing most of the overseas trips on behalf of the queen anyway
Long live the Queen of England! ❤️❤️❤️
its crazy to think how close the US and UK are as allies.
Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth
Long live the Queen
Her Majesty is sorely missed.
Two nations one family makes meproud of my heritage of being an American and British
She is one of our most valuable treasures....
Long live the Queen!
Respect to the Queen for welcoming our service men
RIP Your Majesty
She looks good
One month on, I miss my Queen.
The US Navy and USMC would love to have the Royal Navy built up to its former glory. It was very nice of the queen to meet some of the Americans. It means a lot.
She seems very strong for her age.
We will always come to the queens aid love from the USA 🇺🇸
Nothing but respect to UK sisters and bros in armed service.
Royal Marines are some hard MFers man, anybody who's ever trained with them knows they're about that life
I could only imagine all the friendly competition on board. Us marines vs royal marines.
Would've been fun!
It’s great to see American and UK brothers and sisters working together !
God save the Queen and God bless America!
Thanks to her Grace.
Love it. God bless them all but most of all her majesty.
God bless America always🇺🇸🇬🇧
God bless the UK and all her monarchs
Did not know U.S. marines can be station on board a British ship and it an aircraft carrier too! A full bird colonel Marine meets the Queen!
God save the queen and God bless America 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧
Nice ship England, may she serve you well; with honor and dignity
I hate the NBC.... but I love the Queen and the UK. ❤️
We hate the BBC over here.
@@crowbar9566 Don't listen to this crank. We love the BBC and the Queen in the UK.
wonderful woman.
Rest in peace queen elizabeth
When you are Queen you get to do all the real cool stuff !
As compared to Joe Biden, Queen Elizabeth is an absolute genius. I love this woman. She does the UK proud. God bless her.
Agreed
Long lives with good health. Almighty GOD continues blessings and cares on all of us. Queen of our Hearts and minds 💝😍💝💞

Her and my Dog. Lol
God bless our Queen 🌹
Doesnt both the Queen Elizabeth 1 and Queen Elizabeth II look amazing xx
I remember she get mad on Chinese diplomats. She's is a very brave Queen, and never let her country be ruin.
How ironic history is. 250 years ago marines were formed to defeat the British. Glad we are bros now. They are good dudes and savages in war
so so lucky. Must be the greatest experience of your life. It would be mine to meet Her Majesty. I am British and my God-Father was Capt of the previous 🇬🇧 Flagship Aircraft Carrier HMS Ark Royal.
🇺🇸 🇬🇧 always best of friends. Only a few counties you can rely on in times of trouble. USA 🇺🇸 is No1
Always good to see U.S Marines on a Boat.
America will always defend our brothers and sisters queen across the pond..... for God and country🇺🇲🇬🇧
God saved the queen my friends
But the rest are Screwed!
She’s so cute! God save the Queen 👑
Actually named after Elizabeth I, who ruled from 1558 to 1603.
Unfortunately there are wannabes Super Powers out there in opposition who threaten the UK so to have security onboard provided by the US is welcome and necessary.🇬🇧🤝🇺🇸
watch the video, 21 second mark. The queen is old but she's not that old.
When she is gone, she will be missed
Can't believe all the British hate on here .... I would far rather have her as figurehead than that bumbling old fool Biden (oh sorry, forgot he isn't actually in charge either is he) ...
They're all so lucky, there's a pub on that ship.

Our culture, language, and especially our political institutions have deep roots in British history. May the UK and USA always stand together like the family that we are!
you right about the language having british roots, but you wrong about the culture and political institution, the u.s founding fathers model the u.s after the roman republic, thats why the u.s is label as a republic while the u.k is label as a monarchy cause of them having kings and queens, u.s culture is different than british culture too.
@@jemzbundzdobo7310 nearly all the american political institutions come from british thinkers like John locke, the american bill of rights is pretty much a copy of british billl of rights, and the anglo countries have deep cultural similarities
