I’m a Texan myself and I know marines solders sailers and airmen I think our friendship with the guys across the big pond is essential and a good thing, she’s welcome in El Paso Texas anytime.
I have no doubt she would very much enjoy the visit.

She also went into full battle mode against the wishes of Reagan over a small British island (the Falklands) at the bottom of the Atlantic and won, when Argentina tried to claim it for themselves. Kidnapping the Queen of England and head of state to the British Commonwealth (although preposterous), would be tantamount to an act of war. WW1 was fought over an Arch Duke. It's a silly scenario to begin with, but hypothetically speaking nothing would stop England from sending everything from the SAS to it's entire fleet into the Gulf of Mexico. Maybe Seal Team Six in a joint effort with Mexico's Cuerpo de Fuerzas Especiales may take a peice of the action?

Pause it at 0:32, what a great shot of both American and British Navy Personnel all stood together with an F-35B in the background. Is a heart warming shot to see of everyone from our countries, shoulder to shoulder working together as one family. This is so unique and worth so much, the moral dignity and friendship shown here is a true representation of democracy and decency.

10 aircraft from VMFA 211 are on board the carrier to primarily since the RAF hasn't received enough jets to staff a sufficient carrier air wing and to also have a good number of F35's at home in case of war closer to home since the F35 makes up the entire stealth capability of Britain but also to show china that we are not afraid to work together since for a part of the deployment the strike group will sail through the south china sea but its also to see if us marines will work on a British carrier since its no secret that the US is keen on potentially having a full US air wing on one of the 2 carriers for a deployment since the carrier was designed for the F35B and the 'ski jump' allows the 35b to take off with a full payload and with a full payload which is something the us marines cant do with the F35 onboard any US carrier or amphibious assault ships also USS the Sullivans is part of the carrier strike group

I got inspected by Princess Anne once (many years ago) when I was in the Canadian Forces. I didn't think much of it until she was standing there looking right at me. They look straight into your eyes when they're moving past. A lot of people don't know that they make that eye contact. And of course...I was the one she stopped to chat to.
It's actually kind of an intimidating experience being inspected by the royals. Hard to explain.
Just a Navy daughter (whose father saw action in WWI), wife (whose late husband saw action in WWII) and mother of two sailors (one of whom saw action in the Falklands War) popping in to one of her ships to see how its getting on.

its crazy to think how close the US and UK are as allies. There is rarely a conflict we aren't both in together. And you see examples like this where US marines are onboard the most advanced British Ship, just as if they were British. There is literally not a shred of dis-trust between the two nations.
The only other examples of this really are Canadians and Australians who the British and US obviously share a strong bond with.

As a former Royal Marine of 24 years service I am not surprised by this we have very close cooperation with the USMC. We have USMC at our Commando Training Centre as we also have Marines in the US of A. This is cross fertilization of ideas and comradeship. The USMC at our Camp pass the Commando course to serve there. 41 Commando served in Korea and was at the Chosen reservoir.

Being Irish and living in the U.K. 23 years myself, it was surprisingly moving to see Her Late Majesty on the Royal Navy aircraft carrier with the US Marines - my late Mother before she met my late father in the 1960’s, while they were both working at the Official Residence of the US Ambassador to Ireland in the Phoenix Park in Dublin, fell in love with and almost married a US Marine, who was on sentry duty there before she met my Dad - both of them had also met President Kennedy (JFK) when he visited Ireland in 1963
Love it. God bless them all but most of all her majesty.

Her Majesty did a wonderful job here and it must’ve been a huge treat for everyone to welcome her on board the ship named after herself which she christened a few years ago. Glad though that HMS Queen Elizabeth will now go on her first full deployment since going through all of her test runs.
I don’t want to be that guy though, but why are there U.S. Navy men on board are UK flagship in the first place? As it does feel a little bit odd. I do believe that a US destroyer arrived in Portsmouth the other day but I still don’t exactly see why it’s relevant! Not unless it’s designed to be a final celebratory meeting for them before we all deploy for the South China Sea as part of the large carrier strike group.

I believe the strike group will depart in some time. The US Marines onboard the Queen Elizabeth are part of VMFA-211, an F-35B squadron which will train and operate alongside a British F-35 squadron (10 American + 8 British).
In a word= politicians.
The RN has been underfunded since the 50s, subject to flip flopping political agendas, and for too long the 3 services had to fight over ever diminishing resources. I'm not knocking the RN, it has great people and some great ships, but there are some glaring resource and capability gaps. The USMC and USN are filling them.
There are some benefits from it. The UK will learn faster how to operate a CSG with US contribution as its been years since we last had one. China will think twice before any silly business with US forces onboard. The USMC is in the process of re-defining itself after years in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I suspect we will see forces embed like this with allies like the UK, Japan, Australia more often in future. The USN carriers have been hard worked over the last few years and several need extended maintenance; by helping the UK get up to speed with a CSG the 'good guys' gain a carrier back.
In case you haven't noticed the UK is no longer a Super Power - two World Wars saw to that. So the next best thing is to have an understanding by the Super Power the baton was passed onto to represent the Free World of democracies. Unfortunately there are wannabes Super Powers out there in opposition who threaten the UK so to have security onboard provided by the US is welcome and necessary.🇬🇧🤝🇺🇸
