An action camera should keep everything you care about in focus all the time. That typically means selfie to infinity. A 1-inch sensor would require an aperture around F/5 to achieve that, losing the low light advantage. Insta360 tried to have their cake and eat it, with the result that their 1-inch module has a minimum focus around 2 meters (not their claimed 1m). A lot of users who didn’t understand this trade off have been left frustrated.
Yea I didn't get into that on purpose, I know people don't understand the implications. You are correct and even the sensor change from the 8 to the 9 was more of a negative change for low light, just not as excessive as a jump to 1". What's your thoughts for the future.....how can they take this camera up a notch. Is the only way for better low light, the same size sensor but newer version with better low light. Will we see a 2x zoom lens mod 🤔
They were rumored to be making something small like that with hypersmooth which would be incredible.....last year probably held that back massively if its still in the pipeline
