Just got one of these used for 80.00. Up to this point I have been using the Zihyun Evolution. There are pluses and minuses with the Karma grip, for me the battery charging and lack of pan joystick are drawbacks while the ability to control recording and flexibility of removing the stabilizer, ease of use and go pro recording controls will be the biggest advantages. I found myself not using the Zihyun as much because it was a pain to get out and install the gimbal. I can see myself using the Karma a lot more
The karma grip is definitely the best stabilizer on the market. Certainly the autonomy is less important than the competitors, but in any case you will have to recharge the battery of your Hero5 after about an hour and a half. Nevertheless I found an infallible parade: I connect my powerbank Okey of 20.000mAh and I now have an autonomy of more than 10 hours! Also know that the Karma Grip holds your Hero5 100% to be always operational. It's perfect for me. GoPro Hero5 + Karma Grip is the winning pair in France! Bye to all
I did have a Removu S1 on pre-order until I saw one too many reviews detailing excessive motor noise. In the end I went for the Karma, which although still has motor noise, I felt perhaps suited my needs better. I have no plans to go filming in the wet and don't go skiing so that was one element I would not miss....not to mention the extra £60 for the Removu. Sure, the Karma has it's flaws, some of which hopefully firmware updates in the future may resolve but it will always be horses for courses. I also own a Feiyu-Tech G4S which is good, but again not without being the ultimate gimbal. I have yet to give the Karma grip a real workout and hope I won't be too disappointed but I guess time will tell. Thanks for the video!

There are reviews talking about the 'tilt' but I have calibrated mine and will see what happens. TBH, I experienced tilt with the Feiyu G4S but again, that was corrected by recalibration. I have seen reviews that mention the fast vibration but in at least one video, the reviewer turned the gimbal on with no camera installed!! No wonder it vibrated. I agree, overall the Removu S1 probably has more going for it but the motor noise did put me off although I do have a Zoom H1 audio recorder which I can use if I have too many problems with the Karma. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻
Thank you for a detailed review of the GoPro Karma Grip. I do like the fact that you can control the GoPro with it but as you stated, it lacks some needed features. But not bad for GoPro's first attempt at a gimbal. I think I'll stick with my Removu S1.
I'll be honest i too like that about the karma grip but that would require me to take the door off and there's always a possibility of losing that piece. I went with the S1 and happy that i did. I can just place the H5 black in the unit and use it as normal. No worrying about removing parts of my gopro and losing them. Plus the removable battery and charging times on the S1 and wayyyy better for my needs as i'll be taking it to europe.
My Hero 4 Black needed an update, so I purchased a used Karma Grip. That led to a Karma Drone. That is leading to a Hero 7. However, should I keep the Hero 4 Black and invest in a Hero 8 Blaxk instead?

You'll love it. I love mine. The Removu S1 is my first gimbal and I'm glad that I chose it over all others. The S1 is very versatile. I am very impressed with the battery life and all the features. Only thing is that if you are shooting in a quiet environment, you can hear the motor. But from what I've read/heard, that is common with gimbals. Enjoy your S1. :)
Mine didn’t come with a case or wrist strap. I had to buy them separately. It does a good job but the battery only lasts about an hour. Not long enough for sure.

iftibashir removu is quite difficult to find here in uae, im thinking about wearable gimbal because I can mount them in my helmet easily and I can attach it in telescoping extension pole and get a better pov, but im considering also the quality of the stabilization of the karma, it is smoother compared to other gimbals, but again the battery and joystick, weight and size, and i cant attach it in a tripod, it is really hard to choose
