These kryptonians were evil that were sentenced to a prison ship created by supergirl’s mother. After krypton was destroyed, the evil kryptonians and evil aliens on the prison ship(fort Ross) were in the phantom zone for 24 years. After the got out they crashed landed on earth around the same time supergirl crash landed since she was also in the phantom zone and that’s how they survived.
