Hi , I hope you can answer my question . I am a vocal cord cancer survivor not every thing is back to normal yet but I have completed treatment and am cancer free. However I still have a tracheostomy . My left vocal cord is parelized and I am searching for the best exercises that I can do . I did have a speech therapist but I can't find my print outs and can't remember all of the exercises. Hope you can help . Thank you
Hi Robin, I am sorry but I don't think I can help. Your voice problems require a very individualized approach so I would only recommend exercises that you have done under the supervision of your voice therapist. Can you contact him or her again for one session?
If the exercises do not cause more coughing, then you can do gentle and short exercises. But I would wait until the most acute phase of your sickness goes away.
Good question. Causes may vary but usually include some structural changes on the vocal folds or vocal fold paresis. The vocal folds vibrate at two different frequencies which creates the two tones that you hear.
Thank you for checking out this video. Have you tried straw exercises? Yes or no? Let me know in the comments below.
Csn t wait. Ordered oovo straw chain. Will keep you posted. Bye for now from Italy

Have you seen a doctor?
Does the necklace version have the same resistance options like how the ring version does? Thank you!
No, the necklace is only one resistance.

What is the meaning of Occlude? It's not in the dictionaries? Thank you.
Close or obstruct. In this sense it is narrowing in the vocal tract.
Am i doing the exercise wrong if air comes out through the straw when i do the exercise?
The air is supposed to come out of the straw.

You can try these but also speak to a voice therapist to give you a more personalized treatment plan.
Should l use those exercises while having laryngitis and a cough ?
