Fun fact: SM64 was, I think, supposed to get a sequel called Super Mario 128. It was scrapped, but the mechanics shown in the demo were reused for the newest game at the time, Pikmin.
This is true. It was showcased for GameCube and Mario basically controlled other Mario’s and it looked sick, and then it was Pikmin Everyone complained but I’m pretty happy that it’s Pikmin because I love pikmin
If we were getting a Galaxy 3, I'd want level designs like 2, but the overall atmosphere like 1. G1 had a lonely atmosphere which I thought fit space perfectly, and we're all just little specks of life in this giant universe. G2's atmosphere was like "yaaaaay we're in space!!!" and don't get me wrong I love G2 as much as the next guy, but G1 will always be my favorite simply because of the darker undertones and almost sad atmosphere. Plus, it made me cry multiple times in my playthrough just because of how emotional it can really be,
super Mario 3D World is already technically a sequel, since it was meant to be a more “evolved” Mario 3D Land. The two games are very similar in so many ways. 🤔
In order of what I think would be the best options (imo) 1. Sunshine 2 - Probably the only 3D Mario game where a sequel would fix major issues from its prequel instead of just adding on content like Galaxy 2 2. Bowsers Fury 2 - Unique style and its very likely that's what the next 3d mario game will be designed after 3. Odyssey 2 - So much potential with captures and the movement 4. 3D World 2 - Would be great to come out alongside sandbox 3D mario within a generation as it's a completely different style to them 5. Galaxy 3 - Same as 3D World 2 except we've already got a Galaxy sequel and I presume it would require a lot more time than something like 3D World sequel 6. Mario 64 2 - Every 3D Mario game that came after (Sunshine and Odyssey) builds off Mario 64 anyways, doesn't need a sequel
I played Super Mario Sunshine on the Nintendo Switch and I was good at FLUDD because I had great control of the Poltergust G-00. I did have a lot of fun playing Super Mario Sunshine but it was mostly challenging.
We really want Sunshine 2, and 3D World 2. We may also want Super Mario 64 2 and Bowser's Fury 2. We really want Luigi, Toad, and Toadette playable in Sunshine 2. We really want Daisy, Toadette, and the Yoshis in multiple colors including blue, purple, and orange playable in 3D World 2.
I would love a Sunshine 2. Actually, I already sketched one out. Yes, several islands. No, no snow island, we keep it tropical. We get the amusement park again, but it is Mario themed. We get a pirate island - the King Boo from the casino returns in new outfit as Captain Boo. Also a hotel again, but different. An island that is flooded half of the time with the Monty Mole boss returning in a submarine. An island with ancient ruins. And so on. However, the returning main villain is not Bowser jr. but the paintbrush, someone else wields it now. And the final boss is not Bowser. (This is Sunshine. So the final boss is a souped up on Shine Sprites Angry Sun.)
For 3d world 2, I think that they should do what you said but without the hats, way too chaotic and very unstable. In one level in 3d world, the safari level in world 5 I believe, you had alot of freedom and things to explore. Bowser's fury is perfect for this, and they could have multiplayer in it as well. Lego marvel games have alot of what your yalking about open world with multiple people (2) but if expanded can be great. Basically, think of a large open world multplayer 3d world in actual 3d incorporated (with powerups from both games included), Bowser's fury game.
Hear me out ... Super Mario 3d All Stars 2: The Lost Sequels. Everything you just described in the first half of the video (Super Mario 128, Sunshine 2, and Galaxy 3) as a trio pack. Maybe release it alongside the oft-ruminated Mario Maker 3-D, with an edit-ready Super Mario 128 template? Awow😮
I WAS THINKING THAT. THEY COULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT AFTER THEY MAKE A 3D ALL STARS 2 WITH GALAXY 2, 64 DS, AND 3D LAND OR THEY ADD THEM IN A RERELEASE OF 3D ALL STARS. EVERY 3D GAME WOULD GET A SEQUEL AS NEVER BEFORE RELEASED
Second would be Super Mario Galxaxy 3. I am still playing the second one, and I am loving it so far. The first one was really great, there was amazing music, levels, and an amazing story and fun boss fights, specifically the last Bowser boss fights where you battle him on different planets and when you defeat him, you knock him into the lava and get the Grand Star and you get to watch the planet explode with him, Mario and everyone else on it. The ending was really amazing! The whole game was too! I am really loving the second one too. Not as much, but I still love it, and I really hope there’s a Super Mario Galaxy 3. Third would be Bowser’s Fury, then 3d world. I have not played Super Mario 64 or Super Mario Sunshine. I am planning to get them for my next birthday. I am so excited to play them! Especially Suoer Mario Sunshine.

@@reecey1504 this whole discussion is about what sequels we'd want. And yes, i would prefer to have mario odyssey 2 instead of a mario galaxy 3 (considering that astro bot is a spiritual successor the galaxy)
For Sunshine, I think a good way to go about it is having Bowser decide to 'show his son how it's done', and wield the paint brush with greater expertise, teaching his son advanced ways to use it.
I would love to see Galaxy 3 and Odyssey 2! Those are my two top picks! I definitely love your ideas for new gameplay mechanics (especially the "Star Fox" style gameplay mechanics when getting launched from a launch star), new bosses (including final bosses besides Bowser), new story elements, etc. But what about new playable characters? honestly if they ever made a Super Mario Odyssey 2, it would be super nice if they incorperated alot of the tracks from MK8D as real playable and explorable places. Not only do we get to see the areas outside the tracks, but we get to know so so much more about the mario world. Imagine Thwomp Ruins, Rainbow Road, Electrodrome, Wild Woods, Shy Guy Falls, Maybe all or even a few of the Theme Parks. It would be amazing
Great video, Nin10doland. I would love a sequel to Super Mario Sunshine. I believe they would have a new original adventure other than Isle Delphino, and come up with new ways to use FLUDD, like open water-activated doors, complete water-related puzzles, or even come up with more nozzles, some of which you can actually use to fight baddies. (Because Mario Sunshine had no punch, spin, or Cappy mechanic to fight with.) With some good marketing solutions, and some fixes to the things that made the first game frustrating, they could come up with a solid sequel.
Mario 64 2- Go through Bowser's paintings to save Luigi Mario Sunshine - Maybe another adventure with Mario and Bowser Jr and maybe Bowser use his own water shooter against you Mario Galaxy 3- Bowser captures Rosalina instead of Peach Bowser's Fury 2- New open worlds and new enemies or somebody else can possess Bowser
I really love all these ideas! I'd be excited for any of these games to become a reality. Also, you know how Astro Bot's getting nominated for every gaming award under the sun right now? It makes me wonder what would have happened if Nintendo had beat Sony to it with a Galaxy 3 or Odyssey 2 or something. Whatever the next 3D Mario game is, I'm getting more convinced that it's going to be HYPE.
Galaxy 3 with Odyssey style movement would be my dream Mario game, but I think Odyssey has a ton of potential left. Traveling around the world has endless possibilities for level themes, which is why I think a sequel is more likely than ever before. I just hope it will have a emphasis on larger objectives rather than the 800+ moons again.
Odyssey 2 for me as that was my favorite 3D Mario. But a full scale game in Bowsers Fury style with that true open world style would be great too. BF is a ton of fun to play.
Odyssey was my first 3D Mario game to play, the music, different worlds, and bosses besides the stupid Broodals was what made the game so good, This was my first switch game, aside from Minecraft and 8 Deluxe. I remember playing the demo version of Odyssey at the switch area of my local Wal-Mart
For Super Mario Odyssey 2 there should be planets as kingdoms and there would also be a underwater level where you capture a blooper instead of a cheep cheep, even though it would be the same movement as one.
Easily Super Mario Galaxy 3 or odyssey 2 on the next switch. But it's unlikely. I would make so many video's on my channel. If those games ever comes out❤❤
Super Mario 64 had it's remake for the DS (Super Mario 64 DS) and showed us a more "complete" game adding multiple characters (Yoshi, Luigi, Wario). We also got more features like characters picking up hats from other characters and transforming into them. The powerup that would give Mario different abilities is now character specific so that you had to unlock more characters to progress in some levels. Super Mario 64 DS even had a multiplayer mode. But since it's a DS game, it would be more like a competition party mode, but still with the "open world" level features, attacking eath other and being either a Yoshi(different colors) , Mario, Luigi or Wario. So in many ways the DS remake gave us at a time a really good feeling about what this game style could become. Sadly the last few times Nintendo touched this game, was when they released the DS version to the Wii U eshop (now not available for purchase anymore) and when they released the All star collection with the original Super Mario 64 just in "HD" ; Since I really loved Super Mario 64 DS and played it so long as a kid trying to 100% it, I would be really hyped if they ever released an updated version for the switch or use their knowledge about the remake to create a sequel.
11:50 1st of all it's Boomerang Flower not Suit. 2nd of all there are a lot of power ups. The Cat Suit, Double Cherry, Mega Mushroom, Lucky Cat Bell, Goomba Mask, Porpeller Box, Light Box, the coin one on top of those 3 you just mentioned. (And there's Mushroom and 1up.)
Hello Nin10doland, you probably aren’t going to see this, but if you do, just know to not listen to haters. They get so mad and complain when you make one simple switch 2 video, and call it clickbait. How is it clickbait if it’s an actual rumor/leak? I love your channel and enjoy all the content that you make. Again, don’t listen to haters, and if you want to make a switch 2 video, make a switch 2 video! It’s your channel anyways lol. One last thing, there really hasn’t been a lot of things to talk about, and since it’s becoming time for the next console, there is gonna be things to discuss. Also, I’ve been enjoying all these fun little videos recently. They have all been great. Don’t listen to haters and keep going. Your channel is one of the best out of all the news RUclipsrs. Have a great day!

I would have loved if Super Mario Odyssey explored places like the Beanbean Kingdom, Sarasaland (Princess Daisy Returns), Comet Observatory, Donkey Kong Island, and/or Pi'illo Island. Maybe Super Mario Odyssey 2 can do this.
Mario 64 2 would be amazing! Odyssey 2 would be dope too. I know people would be excited for a galaxy 3, but I’ve never been into the galaxy games. And I still haven’t played sunshine. Nintendo doesn’t seem to have any interest in going back and doing sequels to old Mario games.
I want Super Mario Oddysey the most. It was a really fun game and we never got to explore like this before! The captures are better than the power ups, the bosses are better, and the music and the graphics and the characters, I would love to see a Super Mario Oddysey 2! Shame we don’t already have one. I got my hopes up. The kingdoms in Super Mario Oddysey are better as well. The collectibles are also better. Aka the Power Moons. 🌓
I haven't really experienced Bowser's Fury but having some Super Mario Sunshine vibes with Bowser Jr. having the same painter as in Sunshine, I wouldn't be that surprised to potentially see ideas from both games combined into one. Like: Nintendo doesn't want to make Sunshine 2? Fine, but why not a sequel to Bowser's Fury, but Mario can use the fludd? Afterwards, I'm a little afraid that it would potentially kill the essence of the two previous games, being perhaps too specific. And still including the fluud in a game with already the power-ups of the mario games... combining the two surely risks making the personal experience incompatible and weird
I think a sequel to Sunshine or Odyssey is most likely, most 3D Mario's are built around 64, so a "sequel" per se would be pretty unnecessary and in my opinion, unimpactful. Galaxy already has a sequel, so that makes another one less likely. While Galaxy 3 has one of the highest potentials since space itself has limitless potential, they'd need to go back to Galaxy 1's direction to properly utilize it since 3D Land and 3D World already went the Galaxy 2 route. 3D World is already a sequel to 3D Land, so that make another one less likely. Plus, 3D World's style is the hardest to truly "evolve".
Odyssey 2, first is one of my all time favorite games ever And I think there should be an online prop hunt/hide and seek built in like how some of these streamers have.
Honestly, even though smg has crazy nostalgia for me, I think a sm3dw 2 would work best. It’s such a good game, and I think is kinda underrated because it came out on the Wii U.
Exploring bowser’s castle for a 64 2 would be a great idea. I’m on board. But I think super Mario galaxy 3 is still the one I’d like to see the most. Then it’s bowsers fury and 3d world. I think just merging the 2 together would be a good sequel to both. Like all the worlds of 3d world but you travel through them the same way as bowsers fury Then it’s 64, then sunshine 2 and then last is odyssey for me. I’d rather see what the older games can do in a sequel because a lot of them couldn’t reach their potential because of the consoles they were on.
0:08 More impatient than excited at this point. As of now, I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see the Switch 2 until the very end of this fiscal year(3/31). 😒😣
I’m torn between sunshine 2 and galaxy 3… but tbh, if done right, I would prefer galaxy 3. Galaxy was my childhood game and I would love a third one with the same vibes as the first one, and even that same graphic style (although obviously upscale and made to look better because it would presumably be a switch 2 launch). I would love them to focus on the art and graphics because I would love for the space to look absolutely beautiful. Heck, don’t give them a deadline, let them cook for as long as they can and make it as wild as possible. I need galaxy 3.
Sunshine 2 would be the best sequel and although we have eclipse it's just a fan game. The next 3d game should have a 2 player mechanic since brothership was not (would have been cool though). And almost every 3d mario game has brought back or created a new character. The next game should give more emphasis to the other characters that are in the party games like make wario the villain since he was the mastermind in sending Tatanga to Daisy's kingdom Sarasaland. And Sarasaland already has 4 different and unique areas that was Easter egged in odyssey. Overall, I just want to see the other characters that are not just mario, peach and toad (bring back toadsworth) involved in the sequel or new mario game.
Games like Sunshine 2 and Odyssey 2 have insane potential, but Bowsers Fury style will likely be what the next 3D mario game will be designed after
Yeah, but Bowser's fury the one where a direct sequel is least likely
yea i think bowser’s fury was a test

For the 40th anniversary the new one should be Super Mario Time Machine which somehow incorporates all the past Mario games in a new epic adventure!
honestly if they ever made a Super Mario Odyssey 2, it would be super nice if they incorperated alot of the tracks from MK8D as real playable and explorable places.
Mario sunshine 2 100%
Personally if they were to make a super mario 64 2 they should name Super Mario 128 since 128 is 64 x 2 which is lowkey clever
super mario 3d land: am I a joke to you
Have you everyone heard of Super Mario 3D World?
@@Dilmi.AOUKLI yes
@@Dilmi.AOUKLI also don't be rude
Great video, Nin10doland. I would love a sequel to Super Mario Sunshine. I believe they would have a new original adventure other than Isle Delphino, and come up with new ways to use FLUDD, like open water-activated doors, complete water-related puzzles, or even come up with more nozzles, some of which you can actually use to fight baddies. (Because Mario Sunshine had no punch, spin, or Cappy mechanic to fight with.) With some good marketing solutions, and some fixes to the things that made the first game frustrating, they could come up with a solid sequel.
Mario 64 2- Go through Bowser's paintings to save Luigi
Mario Sunshine - Maybe another adventure with Mario and Bowser Jr and maybe Bowser use his own water shooter against you
Mario Galaxy 3- Bowser captures Rosalina instead of Peach
Bowser's Fury 2- New open worlds and new enemies or somebody else can possess Bowser
I really want sunshine2!
Super Mario 3D World 2: Welcome to the Flower Kingdom!
Wonder Flowers in 3D
Hearing you say it’s been 7 years since odyssey gave me a heart attack. That’s actually insane
Oh like Mario generations for Mario’s 40 anniversary
Galaxy 3 with Odyssey style movement would be my dream Mario game, but I think Odyssey has a ton of potential left. Traveling around the world has endless possibilities for level themes, which is why I think a sequel is more likely than ever before. I just hope it will have a emphasis on larger objectives rather than the 800+ moons again.
Odyssey 2 for me as that was my favorite 3D Mario. But a full scale game in Bowsers Fury style with that true open world style would be great too. BF is a ton of fun to play.
Super mario galaxy 3 please
Odyssey was my first 3D Mario game to play, the music, different worlds, and bosses besides the stupid Broodals was what made the game so good,
This was my first switch game, aside from Minecraft and 8 Deluxe.
Super Mario 64 DS even had a multiplayer mode. But since it's a DS game, it would be more like a competition party mode, but still with the "open world" level features, attacking eath other and being either a Yoshi(different colors) , Mario, Luigi or Wario. So in many ways the DS remake gave us at a time a really good feeling about what this game style could become. Sadly the last few times Nintendo touched this game, was when they released the DS version to the Wii U eshop (now not available for purchase anymore) and when they released the All star collection with the original Super Mario 64 just in "HD" ;
Since I really loved Super Mario 64 DS and played it so long as a kid trying to 100% it, I would be really hyped if they ever released an updated version for the switch or use their knowledge about the remake to create a sequel.
I just hope they add a Sunshine reference to the next Mario Movie. I would really want to see fludd on the Big screen.
All
We really want Sunshine 2, and 3D World 2. We may also want Super Mario 64 2 and Bowser's Fury 2. We really want Luigi, Toad, and Toadette playable in Sunshine 2. We really want Daisy, Toadette, and the Yoshis in multiple colors playable in 3D World 2.
Sunshine 2 don’t fight me on this
12:06 Obviously if you were Captain Toad you can throw his hard hat.
Super Mario 64 2 could be like Super Mario 64 DS, but with more worlds/paintings, and Waluigi and Peach being playable towards the end.
Mario Odyssey with your open world vision for Bowser's Fury 2, that's what I want.
If Nintendo made a Mario 64 sequel today, it would basically be a ROM hack lol
It would be sick if a level/area of a new 3d mario game was Wuhu Island
You do realize that asking for a Super Mario 3D World 2 is like asking for Super Mario 3D Land 3?
I would love is Sunshine 2 actually had Bowser Jr. Age up a little bit. Imagine if he's just straight up the main villian and is a little bigger.
Galaxy 3.
Because the best come in trilogies.
Maybe the next 3d mario game will be mario 3d land hd😂
5:54 That’s already a paper Mario game
14:52 Since I am a person who lives in Chicago I think they should add a city called like Mushcago or something
IMO Odyssey 2 or Galaxy 3 would be the best options.
Galaxy 3 for sure.
I'm Gonna Be Honest. Once The Switch 2 Releases, We Need All Of These
I think a sequel to Sunshine or Odyssey is most likely, most 3D Mario's are built around 64, so a "sequel" per se would be pretty unnecessary and in my opinion, unimpactful.
Odyssey 2, first is one of my all time favorite games ever
And I think there should be an online prop hunt/hide and seek built in like how some of these streamers have.
Honestly, even though smg has crazy nostalgia for me, I think a sm3dw 2 would work best. It’s such a good game, and I think is kinda underrated because it came out on the Wii U.
That idea for a Bowser's Fury sequel is my dream 3D Mario game!
But story-wise it wouldn’t make sense since Jr.did make him Fury Bowser for a prank and I know for a fact he would never do that again
Great video but you forgot one, Super Mario 3D Land
I know that nobody thinks Super Mario Sunshine should get a sequel, but I’d love to see one 😢
Super Mario Galactic Odyssey. Your Ship in Odyssey could go to the moon, why not further?
Just give us open world and im happy (althougth odyssey controls wolb be ideal)
Exploring bowser’s castle for a 64 2 would be a great idea. I’m on board. But I think super Mario galaxy 3 is still the one I’d like to see the most. Then it’s bowsers fury and 3d world. I think just merging the 2 together would be a good sequel to both. Like all the worlds of 3d world but you travel through them the same way as bowsers fury
Then it’s 64, then sunshine 2 and then last is odyssey for me.
Super Mario 3D Galaxy for one 3rd entry for both 3D and Galaxy.
Where is mario maker 3
Man even Nin10doland forgot 3D Land
I’m torn between sunshine 2 and galaxy 3… but tbh, if done right, I would prefer galaxy 3. Galaxy was my childhood game and I would love a third one with the same vibes as the first one, and even that same graphic style (although obviously upscale and made to look better because it would presumably be a switch 2 launch). I would love them to focus on the art and graphics because I would love for the space to look absolutely beautiful. Heck, don’t give them a deadline, let them cook for as long as they can and make it as wild as possible. I need galaxy 3.
Mario odyssey is literally the best I would love to see sequence of that
I mean, right now it would have to be Odyssey in my opinion, but I'd love a Galaxy 3, because the Galaxy games were a masterpiece
