    Imaqtpie was once the biggest League of Legends content creator on RUclips and Twitch, pioneering the "stream highlights" format to rapidly grow his fanbase in the span of only 2 years. Recognized for his incredible skill level and goofy personality, Imaqtpie was a fan favorite in the LoL community. But after a series of personal setbacks and growing frustrated with the game, Imaqtpie would vanish off RUclips for over a year - abandoning the game that gave him his stardom. Welcome to LoLAthlete, this is What Happened to Imaqtpie.
    Thank you for watching LoLAthlete :)

When the league scene was just starting and quite frankly we all watched league based on pure love of the game and its players. Now days its these troll, reaction, and commentary channels that gets all the views. not the actual streamers themselves. Worst part about all this is that nothing about how QT getting older and being happy with what he has accomplished is mentioned. Its a series of focus on drama, failure, and lost of interest in the game. Who doesn't lose interest in a game that is 14 years old and you are aging right along with it?

    I think many of these old time streamers/LoL players fell victim to changing times and an aging audience. I remember watching streams and LoL content way back in the day and it was just a great time in general since LoL was so huge.
    I would say post 2016-2018 onward is when many folk from the original audiences started to move on with their lives, finish school, start university, start work etc. LoL streams/content was so over saturated by that point that it was hard for many of these content creators to "stick around" as to say. The younger/newer audience wasn't drawn to the content/content creators in the same way we all were back in the day, more so being drawn to more modernized content that we are all familiar with.

      They simply got replaced by a newer generation of league streamers. Being in the LCS used to mean something back in the day, these guys had prestige in the League community. Playing in tournaments, hitting rank 10 in the past and just being known as an ex pro-player isn't considered special anymore on Twitch and RUclips. Everyone is disillusioned especially by LSC and LEC players.
      If you want to make it in the Twitch scene, you have to be really good at league and entertaining. But you can't just be a washed ex pro player like back in the day and expect to be a successful streamer anymore.
      Btw. league of legends is much more popular now on Twitch than back in the day. We are just not in school anymore and people in our age group have other hobbies besides gaming, but the game is still thriving, just with a more diverse community (e.g. not just people in school anymore, but also people in university, with jobs and so on). So back in the day less people used to watch these league streamers, but we were all in the same age bracket and it was more common to talk about gaming as a hobby while being a teenager, so it was much just more likely to know other people playing league.

    It's funny they didn't like former pro players in challenger like Dyrus Shiptur and Imaqtpie in Champions Queue, but then they let a bunch of random amateur/collegate players in that were like diamond one tricks then everyone hated it cause the games were solo queue quality.

    will always love qt. his streams were there for me in a very rough time, he kept me above water and i can never thank his goofy ass enough for that. that being said league of legends is boring to watch/play and he was bleeding viewers before he even stop streaming league. i don't rly have time for twitch streams like i used to (mainly due to having a different job that doesn't allow me to sit around and watch em while i work) and a game that i hate even more than league is valorant, so i don't really tune in for those, wish him the best tho dude is a legend.

    Am not gonna say i can relate to qt ( As he is a high-elo player and am not ) but I've been playing league of legends since 2010 for the last 3 years i had 0 fun in this game
    The meta keeps shifting every 2 weeks sometimes a week i cant keep up with that, also the state of SoloQ is really REALLY bad there is no fun to be had in this game AT ALL.
    I can say i can relate to qt in this regard. The game became so stale i had to quit and play it casually. Lets hope this new game mode 2v2v2v2 i dont know how many twos :D be good enough for people to have fun and go back to play the game.

    • @tnnetnattninuttn4627
      @tnnetnattninuttn4627 5 месяцев назад

      How does meta matter when you are not high elo player? Also what do you mean by the game being stale when in previous sentence you say the meta changes too much? I am not trying to discredit you just understand cuz I left LoL a long time ago and only play for about few weeks a year.

    • @xliMaGiclx
      @xliMaGiclx 5 месяцев назад

      @@tnnetnattninuttn4627 What i meant is, the changes were predictable, Every 2 weeks we know who is gonna be strong and who is not. After awhile i got bored of the changes. at least give the meta a bit of time 1 month or 2 and stop nerfing/buffing every 2 weeks. Either way the game is dead to me now :)

    From what I understand, and this is me barely remembering random bits of chatter I heard from other streamers is- yes, ofc QT got bored of league, but it was his denial into the super server or whatever it was called that was his final nail in the coffin. Something about it being a slap in the face to him, insulting, idk. And about the "low effort content", I also vaguely remember someone (maybe Dom?) mentioning he signed a Twitch contract guaranteeing X amount of dollars. So he didn't have to care nearly as much about keeping high numbers for steady dono's and subs when he was just raking it in hand over fist from the deal - that allowed him to make content that made him happy and sustain the same income. But wth do I know, I'm literally just an internet rando who did 0 fact checking.
