AVAA I was binging through some of your francophone hip hop content yesterday after seeing the notification for the premiere of this video (I studied French for 5 years in middle school and hs) and I remember in the video you made covering your own lecture about the current state of French rap and rnb, you mentioned that you were surprised at the amount of latin influence in French rap.
This reminded me of an artist duo that we studied back in my French class (we had these mini lessons on francophone artists every Wednesday that our teacher called "mercredi musique") who went by Big Flo et Oli. Now I'm not exactly sure how big of a influence they are in french culture or if they are responsible for the incorporation of Latin beats and rhythms into francophone music, but I found the connection to be pretty interesting. The duo are half Argentinian anf half Algerian French and they incorporate a lot of Spanish both into their lyrics and their sound.
Is it already time for our monthly "compare X album to Yeezus" review? I'm excited

AVAA As a born and raised Toulouse person... We have the best god-damned town in France and I invite everyone to come visit. It is just peak southwestern France (Not sourh France cause that's Marseilles crown to wear). We also have some great music (Laylow, BigFlo and Oli, and for the very old non rap : Nougaro)...
Also, in a very tangentially related note: please do a video on Stupeflip!! They are high concept delicious weirdness.
