I think it wasn’t at all the girls fault- she was pretty good however when the 37 juries voted, 70% of the 12 points were given to her for some odd reason? I was literally playing a game with my mom (who was beside me watching the show) of who was gonna vote Sweden and we were only wrong once.

Die haben nur damals keine Zeitgeist-Balladen geträllert. Aber vielleicht wart ihr während der 80er einfach noch nicht da, wer weiß das schon. Und wir hatten mit Knorkator auch adäquate Repräsentanten bei diesem "Wettbewerb", die sich nicht untergeordnet, sondern die Show gekapert haben.
Andere Länder dürfen es, aber wehe Deutschland schickt es, dann steht das Abendland wieder kurz vor dem Zusammenbruch oder es heißt nur "Armes Deutschland" 😂

Furchtbar, dass sich LOTL jetzt mit solchen beschissenen negativen Kommentaren konfrontiert sieht. Das hat die Band echt nicht nötig. Eine der größten Dark Rock Bands in Deutschland, Vorband von Iron Maiden. Die brauchen den ESC nicht, LOTL hat einfach nur Bock drauf, ein neues Projekt zu wagen. Bekannt sind sie genug und Fans haben sie auch genug. Vor allem weltweit. Ihr könnt die Musik nicht mögen, das ist euer gutes Recht, aber die Kommentare hier sind abstoßend. Wenn ihr euch mal etwas mit der Band beschäftigen würdet, dann würdet ihr KAPIEREN, was die musikalische Botschaft ist. Aber nein, lieber beleidigt man anonym im Internet. Damit ist keinem jemals geholfen worden. LOTL zeichnet sich durch Musiker aus, die unglaublich menschlich sind, andere Musik wertschätzen und sich auch öfter in andere Genres reinbewegen. Ihr müsst das Lied nicht mögen, aber bitte beleidigt nicht die Menschen, die dahinter stehen. Und bitte missbraucht auch Napalm Records nicht für euren Hass, weil ihr seid schlichtweg hier in der falschen Bubble.

Der einzig sinnvolle Beitrag hier. Wer LOTL kennt, weiß welche offenen und bodenstädnigen Menschen dahinter stehen, die dreimal glaubwürdiger sind als irgendwelche gecasteten Schlagerfuzzies.
Toller Kommentar! Ich bin mir allerdings sehr sicher, dass LOTL mit dem Hass gerechnet haben. Dem haben sie sich in ihrer Karriere leider schon häufiger stellen müssen und haben mit den T-Shirts oder der Aufarbeitung in Songs, einen Weg gefunden selbst damit umzugehen. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass sich Songs wie "Leave your hate in the comments" und "No respect for disrespect" nicht zufällig genau auf diesem Album wiederfinden und sie auch nicht zufällig für "Leave your hate in the comments" ein Video gedreht haben (das man wunderbar unter Hasskommentaren teilen kann). Der ganze Hate ist absolut beschissen, aber ich hoffe, sie stehen da drüber und viele Fans begegnen dem Hass mit ganz viel Liebe (und Sarkasmus). Wir sind die falsche Community um Hate unkommentiert stehen zu lassen
Ich kannte die Band vor der ESC-Nominierung zwar nicht, aber in allem anderen stimme ich dir zu: die Kommentare sind absolut bizarr und unangebracht.
Ich habe mich allerdings gefragt, ob das evtl. eine angezettelte Troll-Welle ist, da ich es echt ungewöhnlich finde, dass im deutschen Netz Leute als angebliche Satanisten angefeindet und diffamiert werden. Das kenne ich so nur aus US-Bubbles.

Finally Germany took a step up and didn't send in the same generic pop song over and over again. As the birthplace of industrial metal band Rammstein, and as a rock fan myself, I'm very happy Lord of the Lost actually won ULFL 2023 and got to represent Germany in Liverpool. Germany could win and become the third rock band to win Eurovision with this masterpiece! *LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL!*
I don't think it's a risky choice, it was a smart choice. Rock Songs have done well in the last few years at the ESC.

I'm from Poland and despite that, I think this performance should rank much better than us. I think most of the negative viewer ratings are because of the makeup. It amazes me that people are still surprised that artists on stage have costumes and painted faces. The problem is also the fact that many people still do not like Germany. And people from my country perfectly confirm this by commenting on Polish articles about Eurovision. Most of the negative comments are insulting the country, not the song itself

I agree. The same happens in Italy. Eurovision is just a stupid contest based on sympathy or unsympathy. This was the best song. I think Germany should take in account the possibility to not partecipate in the future. People has to think, before hating Germany, that lots of workplaces are available thanks to german companies.

There is some poetic beauty in this song being so criminally underappreciated in ESC. I'm not German, but I somehow immediately could tell that there is something very "german" about this music, it's like blending elements of German 80s pop aesthetic and some Rammstein rizz along other elements. It's a really good song and I'm in love with it, please don't think of it as a loss; this years lineup was very tough.

@@peterrogner9608 naja Mainstream würde ich Metal jetzt nicht nennen - dafür wird's zu sehr von Radio und Co. ignoriert und von zu vielen Leuten als "sinnloses Gebrülle" bezeichnet. Aber ich find's trotzdem schön, dass Metal langsam genug Akzeptanz als ernstzunehmende Musik findet, um bei solchen Veranstaltungen eine Chance zu haben.

Well voting in Eurovision is to a large extend based on sympathy. Not saying that all the bands we send are great, but there is a reason why e.g. UK and Germany are consistently the bottom of bunch. Despite plenty of other terrible and/or generic acts.
Nothing is more political motivated than the esc. Everyone hates germany so it doesnt matter how good the Song is, always Last place

Verstehe den ganzen Hate nicht, ist doch mal etwas anderes als der ganze andere Einheitsbrei der letzten Jahre!
Mit dem Song und dem Auftritt ist endlich wieder eine Top 10 Platzierung drin.
Dann versetz dich doch einfach mal in andere hinein. Dann würde dir 1. auffallen, dass sehr viele keinen Metal oder Hardrock mögen und noch weniger Dark Rock. Und zwar deutlich mehr, wie ein Problem mit Pop haben, weswegen Pop halt auch deutlich erfolgreicher ist als Dark Rock. Ansonsten ist der Song halt trotzdem generisch und eindimensional. Was nicht 0815 ist, ist das Genre. Das ist aber ein Unterschied. Die Band hat sich ja nich mal getraut mit ihrem eigentlichen Style anzutreten, sondern nen extra ESC-tauglichen Song für die NDR-Jury gezimmert. Und da der NDR erneut wieder nur generische Songs in den Vorentscheid geschickt hat, war die Auswahl jetzt auch nicht so prikelnd. Willste nich wieder generischen Pop oder Ikke-Blödelmusik, konnteste nix anderes wählen. Sei also mal dahin gestellt, ob die Mehrheit der (lachhaften) 200.000 das gewählt hat, weil sie es wirklich super finden oder weil sie nicht wollten, dass der Favorit der Jury das Rennen macht. Wie gesagt: Einfach mal in andere reinversetzen. Dann versteht man die auch besser - oder, wenn das mit dem Reinversetzen nicht klappt: einfach mal neugierig bleiben und nachfragen. Hilft auch.
Was erwartest du vom deutschen Durchschnitts-Hater? Diese Leute können nur haten und wollen auch nichts anderes. Nicht ernst nehmen, auslachen oder ignorieren. 😉
@@benice2188 eben. Da wird sowieso immer gehatet. 2018 bei Michael Schulte am Anfang, 2020 bei Ben Dolic, obwohl er sogar bei den Buchmachern Top 10 war. Denen ist doch ganz egal was wir schicken und für den ESC interessieren sie sich schon 2x nicht.

Aber das ist fällt jetzt auch nur besonders auf, weil sie immer so hart aussehen (müssen 😉): Tatoos usw. Es gibt ÜBERALL solche und solche. Ein Mensch wird z.B kein Fiesling weil er Schlagerfan ist und ein Gangsterrapper ist bestimmt auch ganz lieb zu hause 😁

I saw Lord of the lost with Iron Maiden and absolutely I loved the show. I agree with previous comments saying you were wronged at Eurovision 2023 and you deserved a higher spot if not first place in my opinion.

Die Kommentar-Sektion kann man sich aufgrund der Hater mittlerweile nicht mehr antun. Was mich am meisten stört, ist, das irgendwelche Deppen die Künstler persönlich angreifen und beledigen, weil ihnen ihr Aussehen oder Auftreten nicht gefällt. Ich finde es toll, wenn eine Band ihren eigenen Stil hat, und alleine das Musik-Video ist qualitativ eines der Besten, welches ich in den letzten Jahren gesehen habe. Ganz objektiv gesehen, bin ich mir sicher, das wir in die Top 10 kommen.

Ob der Song für die Top 10 reicht, weiß ich aber nicht. Es gibt für 2023 nämlich ziemlich viele (hard)rock kandidaten, kann also sein, dass sich die votes für die leute, die auf so was stehen, zwischen denen dann aufteilen

Mir ist es diesmal wirklich egal, wie gut wir abschneiden, weil diese Band einfach mega gut ist und das auch kein ESC-Ergebnis ändert.
Der Wettkampf gibt dem ESC zwar die gewisse Würze, doch im Grunde geht‘s doch darum die Vielfalt zu feiern. Ich habe noch keinen deutschen ESC-Beitrag so oft gehört, wie „Blood and Glitter“ und fühle mich durch Lord Of The Lost großartig beim ESC repräsentiert. Wenn es nicht den Geschmack der Mehrheit trifft, kann ich wunderbar damit leben. Ich richte meinen Geschmack nicht nach Massenkompatibilität aus, sondern betrachte ihn als Ausdruck meiner Individualität und so ist meiner Meinung nach auch „Blood and Glitter“ einzuordnen.
Das ist einfach ein top Song, schon fast ein Kunstwerk den der Sänger uns da präsentiert hat mit den vielen Farben und Facetten im Song.

Das einzige, was man dem Song vorwerfen kann, ist, dass es ein ganz durchschnittlicher Rocksong ist, ohne eine wirklich beeindruckende Hookline.
Du siehst das schon ganz genau richtig. Die Hater, die rumheulen weil sie irgendwas bösartiges oder satanistisches in dem Lied sehen projezieren einfach ihre eigene "Dunkelheit" in den Song. Spricht also sehr für dein Mindset, dass du die liebevolle Qualität des Liedes klar sehen kannst!
