I'm grateful to ESC and Lord Of The Lost, because without their participation, I would never have discovered this fantastic band and their impressive discography.
I checked them out 1 day prior to final to have an impression. Never regret it. Addicted since and sold 3 tickets for different shows already . I have no explanation why I missed them over the years. :D
This comment section is the proof that the internet is a sad place - so much hate (mostly in German) just because people don't like a freaking song. Then don't listen to it, people have different tastes and just because you don't like a certain type of music that's not a reason to be an asshole in the internet 🙄I loved the performance at ESC, finally something with character from my home country, and I like the other songs I now find from you guys. ESC is mostly politics anyway with often boring songs doing incredibly well and random really good songs getting barely any points, I'm so happy you represented Germany this year!

Lord of the Lost is a great band, just because an old political and obviously biased contest decided they are last place, doesn't mean the group is terrible or bad. They are amazing and Chris did an amazing job on vocals at the Euro. Germany can send a golden dragon and still be last at the eurovision because that's how judgmental and biased it is. Respect artists, they don't owe you anything. Lord of the Lost- You were amazing and gained so many new fans, ignore the haters!!

Not the biggest fan of metal, hard rock song (sorry I'm not totally the type to know well songs' genres) but I'm loving the band so far. Also Blood and Glitter was one of the very best songs for me.
I feel the same way. I'm thrilled with the discography of the band. LOTL also have beautiful quiet songs that I love: Lost In A Heartbeat, My Better Me, See You Soon, My Constellation, One Last Song. Not to forget Gothic meets Classical (Full Show).
Quite possibly the best band ever to rep a nation in Eurovision. Just Brilliant. Lorelei, siren of Germanic mythology, of great beauty and delicious song, who was placed on a rock on the Rhine and with her song seduced the navigators.
They killed yesterday as support band to Maiden in Belgrade. Trully as a true heavy metal consumer I wasn't aware of them untill Legacy of the Beast 2022 tour announcement. Was surprised how great they sounded, even my wife was euphoric, pure energy and art live and nothing like studio sound. Wow! 💎

Oh boy; you are in for a treat! Loreley is an absolute banger of a track but there are many others. Dry the Rain, La Bomba, Drag Me To Hell, Black Halo. Lots to enjoy. Try and see them live if you can. Its a great experience - glittery and gothy

According to the band. The song is based in the Loreley’s myth. It first told the story of an enchanting female associated with the rock. In the poem, the beautiful Lore Lay, betrayed by her sweetheart, is accused of bewitching men and causing their death. Rather than sentence her to death, the bishop consigns her to a nunnery. On the way thereto, accompanied by three knights, she comes to the Lorelei rock. She asks permission to climb it and view the Rhine once again. She does so and thinking that she sees her love in the Rhine, falls to her death; the rock still retained an echo of her name afterwards. Brentano had taken inspiration from Ovid and the Echo myth.
i love the contrast of white and black and red throughout this video. 'purity' from (what i assume are) priest cloaks and Loreley herself, 'wickedness' in the growls, the black attire, the makeup, and the flashes of red in between, blurring those harsh lines. and once again, makeup and false lash game is utterly superb. a fantastic vid for a great song

The day this video was uploaded, I first heard of LORD OF THE LOST. Since then, my heart has stayed with these people. It was love at first sight and maybe at first listening. Yes and I said maybe at the first listen because before this song, I happened to hear another song that remained in my mind and soul and about which I found out that it belonged to this wonderful band that I love with all my being.

Great Song! Also,Lord of the Lost are revered as a great all round both heavy and melodic Metal Band / Act. They have an impressive back catalogue of music and videos. Their humanity, sense of humour and general warmth being evident in some 'backstage and production videos here on RUclips. Well, they got into the general fun and campness of Eurovision ; but were unfairly judged to a harsh degree. However, they enjoyed the trip to the Uk (Liverpool and the Cavern Club! ). Plus, from what I've seen and read, have gained many thousands of fans through this exposure. Their concerts are selling out fast. I've heard this once or twice before in passing and loved it just didn't know who performed it nor the name but it randomly came across today while I was listening to Rammstein and now... I know the greatness of Lord of the Lost. As a fan of Rammstein, I hardcore approve of these guys. A great refresher out of Germany reminding us of the great music coming out of that country. Look forward to hearing more. Wish I could find vocal tracks to remix this.
I started to learn about Eurovision through the comments on these mvs- I'm not really sure what that is, but I'm really glad to see these guys get more attention like they deserve
It‘s a competition by the european broadcasting union, mainly financed by the „big five“, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy. Every country that is in that broadcasting union (they don’t need to be necessarily European for that) can enter, as well as special guest Australia (That is a special case in itself xD). So every country that enters sends a song to that competition. I think the artist needs to be of that country. The competition is held in the country that won the previous year. Then there are two semifinals, it‘s chance in which semi final a country has to compete. The big five have a one way ticket straight into the finale, as well as the previous winner. But they will also play their song at one of the semi finals. From there I think about half of the top countries in the semi finals go through to the finale. There is a jury as well as people can call to vote for a country. It counts half half. Only rule is you are not allowed to call for your own country. It’s always a really fun competition, as it’s so diverse. Chances are people are hearing your song for the first time at the finale so it needs to be kinda catchy, and also, as people will hear so many songs directly after each other, you need to be rememberable and unique. There is also the saying, that some countries don‘t _want_ to win, as then they‘d have to finance the finale the next year xD Not sure how true it is, but it also means that countries will be very willing so just send something funny. Eurovision for most people can be summed up into: A fun evening with friends :D Lord of the Lost won the German competition of who goes to Liverpool. As Germany is one of the big five, they are straight in the finale :D I hope this helps anyone who’s not heard of Eurovision before 😊

They killed yesterday as support band to Maiden in Belgrade. Trully as a true heavy metal consumer I wasn't aware of them untill Legacy of the Beast 2022 tour announcement. Was surprised how great they sounded, even my wife was euphoric, pure energy and art live and nothing like studio sound. Wow! 💎

Više od pola publike uključujući i mene niti su fanovi niti su čuli za njih a bio sam iznenađen koliko su bili fenomenalni. Uz to veliki broj ljudi je još ulazio i još uvek su bili veliki redovi kad su počeli (računaj da ljudi iz provincije i mnogo dalje od BG nisu baš onako premoreni od puta i uz organizovan prevoz odmah bili u prilici da stanu u red a još dok nađu svoje mesto). Moj utisak je drugačiji, publika je bila dovoljno motivisana, nemoj mi zameriti iako ne podnosim ovakav muzički žanr ali uživo - pokidali.

The song is based in the Loreley’s myth. It first told the story of an enchanting female associated with the rock. In the poem, the beautiful Lore Lay, betrayed by her sweetheart, is accused of bewitching men and causing their death. Rather than sentence her to death, the bishop consigns her to a nunnery. On the way thereto, accompanied by three knights, she comes to the Lorelei rock. She asks permission to climb it and view the Rhine once again. She does so and thinking that she sees her love in the Rhine, falls to her death; the rock still retained an echo of her name afterwards. Brentano had taken inspiration from Ovid and the Echo myth.
i love the contrast of white and black and red throughout this video. 'purity' from (what i assume are) priest cloaks and Loreley herself, 'wickedness' in the growls, the black attire, the makeup, and the flashes of red in between, blurring those harsh lines. and once again, makeup and false lash game is utterly superb. a fantastic vid for a great song

The day this video was uploaded, I first heard of LORD OF THE LOST. Since then, my heart has stayed with these people. It was love at first sight and maybe at first listening. Great Song! Also,Lord of the Lost are revered as a great all round both heavy and melodic Metal Band / Act. They have an impressive back catalogue of music and videos. Their humanity, sense of humour and general warmth being evident in some 'backstage and production videos here on RUclips. I've heard this once or twice before in passing and loved it just didn't know who performed it nor the name but it randomly came across today while I was listening to Rammstein and now... I know the greatness of Lord of the Lost. As a fan of Rammstein, I hardcore approve of these guys. A great refresher out of Germany reminding us of the great music coming out of that country. Look forward to hearing more. Wish I could find vocal tracks to remix this.
I started to learn about Eurovision through the comments on these mvs- I'm not really sure what that is, but I'm really glad to see these guys get more attention like they deserve
It‘s a competition by the european broadcasting union, mainly financed by the „big five“, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy. Every country that is in that broadcasting union (they don’t need to be necessarily European for that) can enter, as well as special guest Australia (That is a special case in itself xD).
So every country that enters sends a song to that competition. I think the artist needs to be of that country. The competition is held in the country that won the previous year.
Then there are two semifinals, it‘s chance in which semi final a country has to compete. The big five have a one way ticket straight into the finale, as well as the previous winner. But they will also play their song at one of the semi finals.
From there I think about half of the top countries in the semi finals go through to the finale.
There is a jury as well as people can call to vote for a country. It counts half half. Only rule is you are not allowed to call for your own country.
It’s always a really fun competition, as it’s so diverse. Chances are people are hearing your song for the first time at the finale so it needs to be kinda catchy, and also, as people will hear so many songs directly after each other, you need to be rememberable and unique.
There is also the saying, that some countries don‘t _want_ to win, as then they‘d have to finance the finale the next year xD Not sure how true it is, but it also means that countries will be very willing so just send something funny.
Eurovision for most people can be summed up into: A fun evening with friends :D
Lord of the Lost won the German competition of who goes to Liverpool. As Germany is one of the big five, they are straight in the finale :D
