Chouchou is the reason I fell in love with the show. Oda giving a backstory to a random dog to drive home the main theme of the series that treasure is something different to everyone made me see that the show was gonna be something deeper than just a goofy and fun pirate adventure

After watching OPLA it actually makes a lot more sense for Luffy's grandfather to start chasing him as soon as he sets off on his pirate adventure rather than holding off on capturing him later hundred of episodes.

About ChouChou - yeah, that one still hurts. No matter how many times I see it.
And no, it's not just a dog. It's Oda letting you know that he is now in charge of your emotional well-being.
You wouldn't forget the spoiler if you watch the live action, it's a pretty big one,anyway it's your choice .

I believe ChouChou is based of a real story. Do you know the name "Hachiko"? He was a dog who waited for his owner who died and never returned. Hachiko waited for 9 years for his return until his own death. During his lifetime, the dog was held up in Japanese culture as an example of loyalty and fidelity. His faithfulness to his master's memory impressed the people of Japan as a spirit of family loyalty to which all should strive to achieve. Since his death, he continues to be remembered worldwide in popular culture with statues, movies and books. Its really heartbreaking 😢 you can see Oda was inspired by that story too and made this story

Loving your fresh reactions to this series! Keep up the pace and soon you'll be like most of us waiting weekly for the next big plot points to appear! Word of advice from one crier to another, always have a box of tissues nearby for this series because you'll never know when you'll need them. Also, I would watch the anime until episode 314 since the spoiler really shocks every reactor and is really unforgettable no matter how long it takes to get there, no one forgets the information but you do you and keep up the reactions!!!
Yes, it is a major moment, that is best experienced then. In live action it is used mostly as a B plot, to have some low budget cut-away scenes. Si it will take a lot from the moment.

but do trust me, its so damn huge it should be literally impossible to forget until u get there in the anime

Haha FYI the spoiler in the live action isn't something you'd forget. So be prepared to spoil
even side characters in one piece will make you cry. one piece is just so damn good.
HUGE spoiler in the LA starting episode 4, like stuff you dont find out until episode 312 or so and some stuff even a little bit later. If you don't care too much go ahead with it, but it is a pretty big spoiler, but the story has so much to it some people may say it is not that big of a deal since there are still so many more things you do not know yet. Also, it is 1000% something you will not forget, it is like bascially impossible unless you undergo a sudden bout of amnesia haha it is pretty big. Just figured I'd give a warning as with some of the others.

We One Piece veteran will recommend you to watch the live action up to episode 3 only. After you reach 313, continue the live action. Don't worry season 2 of live action will be released next year so you are fine.
Episode 315, and it's not a spoiler you'll forget.
If, however, you still want to do that, I would suggest waiting until after episode 70 at least.

I absolutely recommend you watching the entire anime and omitting the live action, which, for me, doesn't do justice to the manga at all
When you watch the live action, will you still be posting the anime eps like normal?
It does spoil, and not something you will forget. Plus, the characters are definitely not the same and it gives off a different feel. It's basically a parallel world version that is warped. Imo.
It's not bad, but it's not One Piece.

@@CentaneAnime it's not too big a deal for any character development type stuff, but it does just tell you who a character is right off the bat. It also puts a too much emphasis on an issue that doesn't get explored or explained till later on.

Why do you have to watch the live action? I don't. It's definitely not better or more detailed than the anime. It's a waste of good anime time if you ask me. For me live actions are for people that are not into the anime yet, if you are, it's never better by any measure.

I really like that you read the titles, please don't stop doing it. They don't spoil anything anyways as everyone says, they just gives you a glimpse of what's to come and that makes you more interested in the chapter. Keep enjoying One Piece ;)
