@constell1 it's an almost 30 year old series. The One Piece anime started right after the end of DBGT production. Compare it to the animation from the late 90s and it was one of the top productions of that era.

By the way One Piece is the second biggest selling comic book in existence. It’s only behind Superman and it recently beat out Batman and Spider-man. So yes, One Piece definitely is an amazing story which is why its still good after over 1000+ chapters/episodes.

As others have mentioned, One Piece is a massive marathon, but it's a journey worth taking. It's one of the greatest series and stories ever told.
There is 1,069 episodes of one piece so far and yes it is definitely worth it. It airs every Sunday
Is is a great show? Yes. It is the songle best piece of media I have ever consumed.
It hooks you in with its story and characters to the point where you feel like you are part of the crew, then it digs in with mystery and world building. It will consume you.
I've literally been watching this show my whole life. The concept of people not knowing one piece is so weird to me lmao. One Piece has been running for 24 years and has over a thousand episodes so far. In my opinion it is an abolute masterpiece. Sure, on a short term scale there might be episodes that aren't that great and other shows might have better animation (even though recently they've been going all out on that front), but the world is just so amazing I almost feel like we're coming to the end too quickly now. If it was up to me, One Piece would go on for at least another 2000 episodes.

The best part about this is that even as a One Piece watcher, you only ever truly realize how breathtaking the world is when you watch this video where you pay attention to it's beauty. The show engulfs you into it's world so much that as you watch the show they almost feel normal/average after everything else you saw.

Bad suggestion. It contains a lot of spoilers. You watch enough videos related to One Piece without starting One Piece itself, then you might as well quit on the idea of ever starting. Coz by that point, you'd be spoiled on a lot of important story elements, chareacters, events, etc.
That music wasn't OP music, but the music in OP is just as great.
Also, 1070 eps so far, but it's so long because it has to be to tell the story, not because the writer keeps adding unnecessary 'seasons' on. It's a cohesive whole story, is what I mean.
technically it should only be about ca 950-ish episodes if you leave out filler episodes/arcs and the occasional recap episodes
@@kingkatsudark2473 Yeah, for more that I love it, the anime have a lot of unnecessary recaps/fillers. But if all is worth it there is the "One Pace" project that is basically an "One Piece Kai" made by fans, which cut and organize the anime to be more in line with the manga.
i wouldn't say 150 filler out of 1070 episodes is a lot. at least if you compare it to something like Naruto and Shippuden who had about roughly 750 episodes combined and at least 350 of them were filler@@DM-zh2kt
1069 episodes currently, 1088 chapters currently...the world building and detail is insane.
It's genuinely one of the most extensively created worlds I've ever seen. Oda's imagination is just so incredible and every single character has a story to tell. Due to the size of the world, you meet so many characters but there are even times in the later arcs when I wonder how a character from season 1 or 2 is doing; and it's always a joy when they suddenly reappear. It keeps the world connected. It's my favorite journey of any anime hands down even if it is extremely long.

As someone watching One Piece for the past 20 years, I can say that the world building is the REASON why I keep watching the series. Oda creates such as massive world that draws you in. Trust me to say that you must at least give it a try ;)

I have been watching/reading One Piece since 2004 & new chapters are still being released regularly. There has been no hiatus except for during holidays for up to 3 weeks at most but usually for only 1 week. This is the best anime/manga I have watched/read since I started anime/manga more than 20 yrs ago. Every scene isn't just random artwork but actual places. Every character and their history matters. Their actions even when not related to the main characters has an affect on the world and you'll find connections to something that happens 400 chapters away from each other; everything is connected. It actually makes me a bit emotional. 💗❤🔥
edit: just took a look at the other anime you've been watching. You've been introduced to some great anime with some of my favorite characters. One Piece is an amazing story. It's the kind of story that needs 1000+ episodes. I think the current episode number is 1070 and it's still going strong and still telling the same story. It's well worth the commitment. I recently caught up myself. I put it off for so long because of the length. Once I started, I couldn't stop. Once I was caught up I was upset there wasn't more. Now I'm waiting weekly with everyone else. I even caught up with the manga. I will say I had to push through the first few arcs, although good, It's no where near as good as it gets. The story just gets better and better. So much so that I am rewatching the entire thing now while waiting on new episodes. Safe to say I am a bit obsessed now lol. Straw Hats!
I say this to anyone thinking about getting I to one piece. It is the single greatest story I ever read and is getting better the longer it goes on.

You should definitely start One Piece....i believe its one of the best stories told out there! So much depth, emotion and the world feels so alive. Oda the creator made a masterpiece! As you dive more and more to the story you will not believe how interconected it is and how deep the story really is!

Nothing beats the world of One Piece. It builds on itself, continuously. For Example, one name was mentioned around the 20-30 episode mark, and it became relevant in the 400's. The World is Spectacular, and really draws you in. The Characters are loveable, relatable and downright, amazing. Words cannot express the emotion and joy You feel when watching this. (As others have said in the comments, Some episodes/arcs are a bit slow, To be a expected from a show this long, But Overall The story is THE best written. Theres a reason One Piece has been the best selling Manga for 20+ years, as well as the most watched anime of 2022. Lots of people are getting into it, and better late than never. Enjoy it while you can

And you know what, I only really realised how big One Piece world really is only after I watched this video, it was like a re-realisation, because I was so invested in the character and lore of one piece….. the story and characters are soooo good….. I still think about so many moments in one piece and it still gives me goosebumps….

One Piece ia definitely worth your time. It has literally been running for 25 years straight, all the same continuous story, and the manga has outsold every other comic in life-long sales except for Superman. It is, without hyperbole, a modern epic in every way save that it isn't a poem. Don't let the cartoony art style and goofy humor fool you: this story is deep, complex, gripping, and emotional all while being incredibly accessible and easy to watch/read. I highly recommend picking this show up.
Also, the fandom is incredibly supportive and, while every group has its assholes, is probably one of the least toxic fandoms in anime.

Honestly, the world building is my favorite thing about One Piece. The fights are cool, but the world building, lore and character development is what sets it apart to me.

It is a masterpiece! One of ONE PIECE’s strength is world building. The story is amazing and feels so alive that you will feel like you’re in the journey with them. I’m gonna stop here because if I elaborate more, it won’t end and you wouldn’t want to read all that 😅. I always recommend reading the manga first but whatever you’re more comfortable in. Also, don’t rush just to catch up. Enjoy the journey if you really decide to start it 🙂
One Piece has imo more in common with epic fantasies like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings then other anime when it comes to world building, storytelling and character development and yeah its amazing. Over 25 years in production and still going strong. The length might look like a hurdle but if u like it, its a blessing.
Yes, One Piece is one of the best fictional series I have encountered in any medium. Great characters, amazing plot (though the bigger picture is slow moving, there's always something interesting going on with the crew's more immediate goals), and as you saw here, basically unparalleled world building. There were a handful of images from the movies, but many of thise images are straight from the anime. The level of imagination and detail put into the world is incredible! I would love to see you react to the recent trailer for the upcoming live action. It's based on the first 100 chapters of the manga, which is the prologue of the story. It is a little more focused on the characters and looks like it will be a really fun adaptation. Or you could dive right into the anime or manga, or watch all the openings first. Whatever you decide, I hope you enjoy the journey!
Been watching and reading one piece for 18 years straight. It might not have the best animation, nor the best fight scenes, but the world and characters of one piece are so far ahead of any other anime, that it ain't fair. I guess a great author and 1000+ episodes go a long way ;)
Hey, I'm just gonna say that I didn't watch One Piece growing up in the 90s, I didn't watch it till a few years ago but ill be damned if this show NEARLY instantly became an ALL TIME favorite of mine. As an adult I can say the themes and emotions of this show hit so much harder than they would have if i did watch as a kid, so IF you're on the fence about watching this I 150% would, at least the first season but yeah its currently at 1070 episodes and STILL GOING but it's probably THE SINGLE GREATEST story I've EVER exposed myself to. I don't want to OVER HYPE this show but I had 0 expectations going in and by episode 20 I was HOOKED

3:10 - yup. Nearly every location shown is relevant and fully fleshed out. There are a couple exceptions of shots from movies that aren't technically canon, which you might choose to not count.
As a massive one piece fan, it is quite long. But overall in my opinion it’s the greatest work of fiction in human history. The writing, emotion, journey, everything about it is perfect in every way. And to think this grand world and story came from the mind of a single man is sobering.
It is amazing. Worth every second.

If you start One Piece please don't be fooled by the very first few Episodes. They differ a little bit from the source manga and aren't as good as they could be but the anime is getting real good really fast.

Anime is a wonderful medium for breathtaking entertainment. I'm glad you're getting into it. One Piece is peak of creativity. If these visuals and colors impressed you I recommend lesser known shows like Mushishi, Ergo Proxy, Ghost in the Shell (movies and the TV series. It inspired Matrix), Dororo, Made in Abyss (forewarning it has some dark themes), and Space Dandy (watch that in English dub). Oh yeah, and anything Satoshi Kon had ever made. Paprika inspired Inception and I watch Tokyo Godfathers as a Christmas tradition now.
One Piece is totally worth the time. Also the creator, Oda, never forgets a person or plot line.
To sum One Piece in the shortest way possible, it is a sotry with the perfect mix of goofy, epic, heartwrenching and wholesome moments possible mixed with an epic adventure and a world full of mysteries and background history that, 26 years later, keeps on giving us the same quality that it did when it began.

One Piece's islands have either realistic era counter parts or mythological/fictional. I grew up watching it and it's author put his soul into it.

The world of One Piece is one of the most well built out of all anime, so much that you can basically track their travel. Most of this was in fact from the anime and it's important to understand where they are and the happening situations, some were from the movies which are not canon(except some characters). Right now there's 1069 ep but for me it is completely worth it
To convince you to start One Piece, you need to know that we are nearing the end (3-5 years) but no one except Oda and some editors know what the One Piece really is, so if you want to discover the answer to the question that is keeping millions of people in suspens at the same time as everyone, then start the journey, come aboard the hype train ... or rather the hype boat ! 😁 THE ONE PIECE IS REAL !
I am not being facetious when I say One Piece is the greatest work in fiction. I promise you it's not coming from just a "fanboy" who has only experienced a handful of shows lol. I've seen hundreds of anime and western shows (LotR, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc. All that stuff). There is just something about One Piece's story and world-building that captivates you more than anything else does. You will experience every range of emotion from utter sadness and depression to the utmost joy and happiness (and everything in between). The plot just gets better, deeper, more intricate, more complex and you can't help but just fall into the rabbit hole and find yourself lost in all of its glory. Sales does not always equal quality, but there is a reason this will inevitably become the the single most successful comic of all time.
I remember year 2004 when I first read the manga of one piece and started watching the anime on 2005 and addicted to it , and now I'm still hype and hoping that before I die I will know what one piece is hahhaa
Dude I remember in High School reading it along side Naruto in Shonen Jump Magazine. Back when the ORIGINAL Yugiho Manga was out (That thing Was SO different than the later mange games or anime.) I Thought it was good then. Its like the only out of the Big three that I STILL love.
If you’re planning on watching One Piece, it’s a really good investment. There is a ginormous fanbase on RUclips that is always looking to watch more people get into it. There is so much lore embedded into the series and things from the very first episodes tie into episodes hundreds of episodes later. It starts off a bit more goofy and fun and develops into a fantasy epic. And when it hits, it hits hard. People love to see reactors seeing their favorite moments because once you’ve experienced it you can’t ever really experience it again in the same way. Getting people to watch those moments for the first time is the only way we get to experience it again through someone else. Having seen a lot of channels grow, I guarantee the more you watch One Piece, the more your channel will grow. And One Piece is ending in around 5 years so there will be a lot of new people getting into the series.
By the way, One Piece manga is one of the highest selling comics of all time, even passing both Spider-man and Batman. With only Superman topping it in sales. One Piece is up there for me as one of the best stories in literature and IMO should be talked about with some of the best fantasy series of all time.

all islands and locations in this video is from the original anime, one piece world is considered the one of the greatest pieces of fiction in media, same as tolkein's world. the worldbuilding of this series is unbeatable. the start a little bit slow and animation is old style, because its been running since 1999, but it will get better as it goes. it is a once in a lifetime experience. it is a story that talks about being free, a boy who wanted to be the freeist person in the world and also Ra#*sm, corruption, Sla#*ry etc. if i tell you more then it will be all spoilers.
Just so you know, a lot of the scenes picked for this likely are from movie recap of story arcs, where the art style is better than the original showing. But, it's still an incredible series, though the early animation... well, the animation has improved as the series progressed, to put it simply, which has gotten ridiculously amazing recently. Though, that's to be expected for a show with over 1,000 episodes and ongoing.
The World building is one the biggest it has also about 15 movies to too. Different worlds and I was a teenager watching week to week while reading the Manga. The characters might seem weird to begin but you end loving and hating characters but it the best show to me I will always love be number one to me.
You should definitly watch it, this story is a masterpeace that will tought you lessons and make you experience some of the strongest and happiest moments in anime. Hurry up to watch it before it ends if you don't wanna be spoiled the end ! Because it will certainly be huge !!

Take a bowl and mix togheter Looney Tunes, Avengers, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean and you end up with One Piece. Its the best way to describe it without spoiling anything

If you want to watch it, then dive in, As a long running reader/watcher I will tell you this is taking clips from over 1000 episodes so new people have high expectations. However the early parts of One Piece are more goofy/cheesy and more humorous while just setting up characters without giving too much away on them. Some characters even now from the early episodes we have little to no background for them, same with some key plot lines. It is completely worth it though, I like the all time classics like Naruto, Bleach, DBZ, HXH etc etc but this cannot be topped for world building. It is emotional, its epic but mostly its fun.

It's a "slow" burn - but only because the candle is so dang big.
There's definitely enough fast pace episodes and cliff hangers in there to be thankful for comedic and emotional relief.
Right now (date, August of 2023) this show is 1072 episodes long... and still ongoing. And while there´s like, a dozen episodes or so that you should skip, it´s awesome.

One Piece currently has 1,069 episodes released. When you start it, you don't need to commit to that much. You just need to commit to 37 episodes. If you can finish episode 37 and aren't hooked, it probably isn't for you
Someone else probably already said this. But while you really will see every place in this video and way way more then that, not all of them are relevant. And I think that through the quick editing, it feels like there are a lot of quick location changes going on, but you will actually stay at one place for quite some time. But yes, the story is absolutely amazing, the problem is, that it takes a while to really catch you (i think it was 60ep at least) so you will have to bring some patience. A well written world needs time to build after all :)

The show has been ongoing since 1996 it has 1000+ episodes it’s the second largest comic in existence and the world is the largest most diverse detailed and connective while maintaining that each stop is different with it’s own government people history and animals out of any anime
I guarantee you, once you start with One Piece, you'll definitely get hooked. Just bear with the animation for the first few seasons since the anime has been around for 24 years. But the story though, you'll be surprised by its depth

Every island has been shown in the anime that you saw but some of them were only shown in pre time skip so it might not look as good

It gives you an idea of what to expect and doesn't really go into any spoilers outside of giving you the backstory of a side character out of context of the whole story as an example for how good the writing is. This Saturday we're getting episode 1070 and the following week will be an episode that should be one of the best reveals in the series to date.
When One Piece fans (like me) talk about the show, people may feel that we are biased toward it.
But it is worth the watch. They is everything for all tastes. And the humour is golden. The characters grow on us and story is more intricate than the lighheartedness shown.

You could watch the One Piece Kai if you want to arrived to the recent episodes quickly. When i watch (and rewatch) this video , it could be so easly to make a MMORPG way more bigger then WOW in the univers of One Piece. So many islands to visited.
Honestly. While Kai is a great way for returners to the series in my opinion. I never recommend it to newbies. Mostly because of all the Subtle minor things that become huge like 300 chapters later and also I find that you do not get as much ...... FEEL for the straw hats you know. Like I said. Great for returning watchers but to really GET the show I recommend all but like 3 of the filler arks

I will say this. With One Piece. YOu gotta go your own speed. Its massive. 1069 episodes and Probably at least a few hundred more to come. Spanning 24 years so far. And it is fun and whimsical. Seems really simple on the surface. But it is PACKED with Content. Rushing through would likely leave you confused not getting the point of some things. I will say. As a seasoned Reader of literature and a watcher of anime since 1995. I have read everything from the Entire Naruto Manga to the Complete Sherlock Holmes series. Harry Potter to Tolkien and Love Craft. Watched the Animes from Macross (Robotech) and Sailor Moon. To Dr. Stone and My Hero Acidemia. ..... One Piece remains one of the MOST Interesting worlds in Fiction and one of the Better Stories I have come across.
