- I'm happy to report that the ghosts living in Salem's Hawthorne Hotel are friendly. If you're looking for a charming and historical hotel with modern amenities and a great pub, the Hawthorne Hotel fits the bill. The Hawthorne's downtown location is a huge bonus - you're in walking distance to many of Salem's best restaurants, bars, and museums.

I'm going here in june, i can't wait! im from ireland, cork city, so i am used to being from a highly popular tourist attraction area but ive never really travelled to another highly populated tourist attraction area and ive always always dreamed of visiting salem and my friend in america invited me over and paid for my hotel and is treating me to a stay here. i can't wait!
You're in for a treat, Sommie. The Hawthorne is a fun place to stay, I highly recommend the hotel tavern! Within walking distance to lots of tourist attractions, you couldn't pick a better hotel, in my opinion. Enjoy your Salem vacation and thanks for watching!
@@JonathanBrowneMenzies im going to be posting all my postcards from there, i wouldn't have found out those mailboxes worked without watching this video, thanks for that. is salem easy to walk around for someone with limited mobility? it looks like it has a lot of cobbled streets. im assuming i need not worry about walking too far to see things as this is a very central hotel. i mainly want the witch house, the witch museum, the memorial site and some of the other museums.
It's a dream of mine to visit Salem during the cold weather months. The Hawthorne was decorated beautifully in this video, with Christmas decor. But the upload date says March. They still have a Christmas tree up in March? Not judging at all, I love it!
You won't be disappointed; the Hawthorne is a historical gem and the staff does a great job keeping the hotel in tip top condition. A charming place. I would have chosen a traditional dish from New England but if it comes to burgers, a 1925 burger was good choice.
Thanks for watching, Sill! If I was a seafood lover, I would have gone with the fish & chips because I know it's fresh from the Salem docks. The burger really impressed me though, I didn't expect it to be as good as it was.
I know this hotel from when I lived in the town next door. This is a wonderful vintage hotel with a great staff and good food. I don’t think this video does it justice. I hope you will go visit it and see for yourself

A no no. The front desk person should not have mentioned check out time until after the guest has been all checked in and ready to head up to there room. Mentioning check out time right off the get go makes it sounds as if the hotel can't wait to get ride of you. "Your check out time if you decide not to stay longer with us longer will be." That's the way it should be presented.
Thanks so much for watching, Joe! I understand your comment, but I have to say, the service and staff were excellent at The Hawthorne. My stay was during the worst part of the covid pandemic, they could have been short staffed and a bit overwhelmed. Wishing you safe travels and thanks for commenting!
