I was thunderstruck to see a Zaouli dancer a week ago on youtube and now watch one or two a day. My favourite is the one with the purple dancer at dusk accompanied only by drums. It has an eerie,spellbinding quality.

Those dancing feet!!! I had watched a couple of other videos of this dancing before this one, which I enjoyed also. I wish it had been accompanied by the original African drummers & musicians for a more authentic feel. I did not appreciate all the modern lights & synthesizer noise; it only detracted from the spirit of the dance.
