As a mother of 6 boys and 4 girls, I cannot say either was harder per se. I think my girls were a "little easier" in the younger years and the boys in the older years (boys seem to have constant on-the-go energy). But honestly, it really does have to do with parenting. They all learned to be quiet and sit during our long (back then) services. (books and drawings helped!) I thank the Lord I had good godly mentors and did lots of biblical studies on family life. Hard work? YES! But I am so thankful for the blessing of having children!

The differences can be so blaring sometimes though. You start out equal just changing diapers, singing them the same songs, reading them the same books, having the same baby rattles and decorations but despite doing everything the same, the differences start appearing. I think it’s good for new mothers to talk about these things to understand normal child development.

Sweet and beautiful to watch both of you families! And love hearing all the advice and such that you had to say. I'm a grandma but I adore my grandson and we have another grandson on the way. We had the one and only son after a marriage of 10 years. We homescooled him all 12 years. But there are circumstances that have happened in his marriage and our grandson had leukemia at 3 and praise God he is completely cancer free. Our son bought the house next door to us so we're so thankful to have him nearby. And we get to see our grandson a lot which is such a blessing. We were in a homeschool co-op with families that had the numbers of children that you and your friends have. It was really a great adventure for me since we moved from Memphis Tennessee to Cincinnati Ohio 30 years ago and I came out of a corporate career of 15 years. That was a huge change for me but thank God I was hearing his voice and obeyed him and my next door neighbor happened to be a homeschool mom. She taught me everything I needed to know and I had a lot of certified teachers in The homeschool co-op who helped with great advice. Bless you guys extremely and may many mothers and fathers humbly receive the advice and counsel that you are so anointed I would say to give. Bless you so much!

Y’all were so on point with this topic. Cultivating the hearts and minds of kids impact their thinking and behavior. As someone who got a call to do children’s ministry many years ago, one thing God gave me was Luke 18:15And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 17Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.” With that, you’re right. We have to raise them to have knowledge of God’s Kingdom and encourage their lives in it with things like honoring and loving God. Thank God that there is grace for the commitment of raising them under godly teachings and it’s all for His glory.

In a world with a lot of confusion being put upon children, it is so important and beautifully refreshing to see the truth modeled and talked about. May the Lord encourage many families through this video to cherish the gift of children they have been given to care for and nurture. May the Lord bring powerful restoration over all that interferes with communication and relationships within His families, such as autism.

Mom here of 3 girls and the 4th and youngest one a boy. I also think that raising boys are easier, but my son as a child was a real daredevil so it was a bit unnerving for me after having my girls first! I was a single parent most of the time, as well. So without a husband and father figure for my children, I had a bigger and more difficult role to fill, which made it harder to be a parent working outside the home.

This is not true at all. Perhaps this is due to the liberal culture that makes children not respect their parents and treat them as if they were their friends! In my religion, it is not permissible for us to raise our voices above the voice of our parents! Because that is a great sin! The important thing is how you raise your daughter
If you make movies raise her, the street, and her classmates at school, you will not have a good daughter, but if you raise her to take responsibility for her actions and not allow her to yell at her mother, she will grow up being polite.

    • @stst77
      @stst77 Год назад

      @@user-yz8eo3gj6m do you have children?
One thing is definite and that is hormones affect the mind and body and pms can create moodiness in girls. It’s biology.
My cousin disciplined his children. They are very good girls. They are not running around wild and he has an excellent wife of 25 years. This isn’t an out of control family.
Another fact is religion can oppress natural feelings in people especially a fear based religion, but religious people are still humans with human emotions and hormones. You can’t tell me that no female in your religion ever experiences the hormonal challenges of pms especially during adolescence.
I think either you don’t have a house full of teenage daughters to know or you grew up in a highly oppressive religious family or you have unrealistically painted a wishful thinking image of your religion that is not reality.

I had 2 girls and 2 boys. The boys were easier to raise as they were growing up. Now that they're grown, I do more with my daughters and my granddaughters. My son's are off living their lives in different areas than where I live, and I don't spend as much time with them as the girls. One son I only hear from once or twice a year. The other messages me every Saturday and comes home for a visit once or twice a year. When girls start to become teens is when it gets more difficult.

Wow so well said... Boys closer to moms when they small.. Girls little more independent.. And as they mature it's quite scary as parents when they try do do things coz we want them safe.
But when they move out of home or especially post marriage bor kids the girls just realize how much their mother/father struggled or meant and they become much closer and thankful to parents..
But boys nest away and start to become a different unit. But obviously the loves there it's just a lil different.

As a mom of 8, 2 boys, 6 girls, I think it really depends on the personality whose more emotional. They each hit phases of bigger emotions, that we try to help them learn to manage, and not explode on others. I've been trying to teach them how to give their emotions to the Lord, and to know they can lean on him. Mostly we try to teach them and I ask the Lord to make up the difference where we fall short.

I grew up in a family of 6 boys and 6 girls all from the same parents and I remember my mom saying, "if any of you had been alike, I would have figured out parenting".
I have 3 girls and a boy and my boy is definitely different. My girls are more 'do it yourself' minded and independent in their thinking. All my girls at an early age of 4 or 5 wanted to read and asked me to teach them to read but my boy instead at that same age (he is the youngest) asked me, "can you read for me forever".
My girls also got into more trouble and were more imaginative in manipulations and deceptions and schemes and were much more verbal. If I had to pick which one was easier, I'd have to it was my boy. This is all coming from a mom's perspective.
However, my brothers gave my parents more trouble than us girls. So perhaps its more in the parenting and the role models that the children have. I'm definitely independent and outspoken.
Hope this helps and you have such a sweet family. I enjoyed the video a lot.

I'm glad it was acknowledged that men can be "emotional." That's my greatest fear when sisters and brothers in Christ discuss complementary natures, especially when claiming boys are easier to raise than girls. (Violence and aggression stem from fear and anger... And I wish more attention was paid by parents to little boys' fears and anger.) Bracken comes across as gentle and nurturing, checks in with the boys emotionally, which I thought was the entire point of Complimentarian Femininity? (I hope that's not rude to say?)
What "boy" things will be forbidden to Lydia as she gets older, besides pants? Can she go camping and learn survival skills? Your sweet boys are comfortable in the kitchen...? 🕊

My first boy was always very active and adventurous, my girl was very affectionate, very close to me and loved cuddling as a baby and toddler, and my younger boy tried to copy my older boy but wasn't as athletic. All were beautiful, caring, very happy children.

Wonderful interview on both of the perspectives.
I just wanted you to know that your song in the Silo sessions that you two ladies sang: Nearer My God To Thee, has such special meaning to my older generation family, and also to me and I hope my daughters.
My mother and grandmother told the story of my grandmothers sickly little sister at about 2ish years old. She climbed up on the piano stool and picked out Nearer My God To Thee; and then fell over dead…my grandmother, and her daughters including my mother, all had beautiful harmonizing voices, and when they would get together and sing it was so beautiful. I remember as a young girl listening to them sing, they always started out with Nearer My God To Thee, and ended their singing together with it.
My Mother passed away at the age of 94 on Aug 5th during the very early morning hours. About 7:00 pm on the night of Aug 4th, my two daughters, one granddaughter, and myself played your Silo Session of Nearer My God To Thee and we sang along too. I like to think we all including your sweet voices, sang her to Heaven.
I also had your rendition played at her graveside service. I dearly love your Silo Session, and hope to purchase it soon.
May God Bless you both and your families. You touch hearts that you don’t even know…thank you.

I have been a single parent to my daughter since she was almost 2 years old and she has now been married 4 years but she has been working since she was 23 years old but she still wants my opinion for her decisions and when anyone has an issue where she works,as soon as she can she calls me and asks me to pray with her for her coworkers or coworker for whatever reason that prayer is needed at that initial point. I also do the same with her and we still have a deep mother daughter bond but it is more a strong Christian sister bond as well, as even though I am in a nursing home now she is working on getting me back at home with her she cries a lot and she tells me how much she misses me and wants me back home.

Dear ones, the strong willed child (boy or girl) is the most difficult to raise!-- and every one with a strong willed child said, "AMEN!!!"😂 I'm the oldest girl of six children, 3 boys, 3 girls. It's not about gender being easy or difficult, they are just different. I love Jordan's insight about raising girls, "a lot of words go on!" Yeah they do!😂 How patient and what a good listener you must be, as well as having a good sense of humor, for the Lord to have rewarded you with seven gorgeous daughters! I have two boys and they are like oil and water! I should have named them Jacob and Esau.😒😂 My youngest is strong willed and has special needs...O Lord give me strength!!!😫 THAT is a difficult child to raise! I'm so grateful to God for my sense humor, or I'd go🤪😜🤪!♥️
