I bought the parts indicated in the video description but the cnc kit drivers are different from the ones you use in the video, they are purple (DRV8825), do I have to modify anything in the project to make it work?

**Works on jogging, but not in program
Thank you for sharing your work. It is very useful and the youtube video was very detailed enough so i could build one for me. I've got one issue. When I use GRBL, and Benbox, I am able to jog both stepper motors. But when I run a program with any image, Y axis motor only vibrates, and not rotates. Also the Y motor get's really hot, melt down the printed threads. The X motor seems working fine and laser works fine too. I am running on CNC shield with UNO. Please if anyone has any suggestions, I would be pleased to hear it! Thanks in advance.

I made this but the motors heat up very very fas and it melts the plastic thread guide. Does this happen to you?

I don't know WTF happened but I just put this together and it started smoking with a really annoying hiss. The instructions here are really not clear. Things I am stuck on (and one of these is quite possibly what's screwed up mine:
* Why is one of the small boards that plug into the CNC shield upside down compared to the other one?
* I've opened 4 different DVD burners and none of them have the 4-pin connection on the top of the spiral motor part, they're all on the bottom. Which pin is supposed to connect to which plug on the CNC shield?
* What is the required amp rating of the 9-12VDC power supply? I'm using 12V 1.5A but have no idea if that's too high rating as nothing is specific here besides the voltage.
Any help please? I'm totally stuck on this one, and it's taken a hell of a lot of time to print and assemble it, and a lot of money to get all the parts for it.

Ah, gotta love it when you see folks bust out the super glue. What was the purpose of the magnets? Wait, weren't you sponsored by JLC PCB? I would have thought you would have made a small pcb to put the MOSFET on (and I'm pretty sure plastic makes a great heat sink 🙄).
