I kinda liked in the Remastered TOS episode they changed one of the Romulan D7's to a Romulan BoP. They were all supposed to be Romulan BoPs originally, but they had to change it at the last second because the guy that made it wasn't part of the hollywood prop makers union and they had to return it. :(
I also heard the original Romulan BOP model was destroyed by its builder because he didn't get paid for his work. I'm not certain if that's entirely accurate or not
While I don’t hate the new redo of the Enterprise model for Discovery, it’s not my favorite. You can’t really get past the clean lines and features of the Matt Jeffries original. It was meant to look functional. Everything had a purpose. Not sleek and stylish. Many of the people involved in the TOS production had served in the Navy either in WW2 or post war. TOS actually had a fairly real world navy aesthetic. With bright colors used to indicate function, role and hazard.
The Discoprise fixes 2 main issues I always had with the original, the pylons and neck being too thin. Also it brings it closer in general shape to the refit making the transition smoother.
@@LordDarthHarry With the exception of the Nacelle's the Discoprise looks to be a straight up rendition of Matt Jeffries redesign/refit design for Star Trek Phase 2. Which is what the TMP refit evolved from.
@@LordDarthHarry The this pylons and neck made sense in the original designers concept. This was a ship designed for Space. Zero Gravity only. Which was one of the first times we actually saw that in SciFi media, was it not? The Neck and Pylons were more or less Spacers. The Neck to keep the Reactor section away from the Living (Saucer Spaces). The pylons just enough to put the nacelle's where they needed to be. It was pure function over form. Which was a rather interesting SF design back then. There is a logical sense to the original. When Jeffries designed it he really thought things through. He was an industrial designer, not an artist. (contrast that with the pure form over function or logic of the Kelvin Era Enterprise, which was clearly cooked up by graphic artists with no concept or thought of how it is supposed to work.)
Really nice model and rendering, except that the rear nacelle caps should look like those the TOS version had in the second pilot, not the series itself.
I'm sure CBS is very proud of you. And I'm positive Gene Roddenberry and all the folks that made "Star Trek" what it WAS, wouldn't be. Remember "The Needs of the Many, Outweighs the Needs of the Few"? That, thanks to the agenda sweeping across Western Civilization, has now been flipped on it's head...Just like "Star Trek"....NOW, it's S.T.I.N.O., Star Trek In Name Only...what a shame...😔

@@andrewtaylor940 yup and the nacelles are NX style
Nice!
Enterprise in silver - not white?
Duh duh duh duh...from the original soundtrack.. that would have fit perfectly here🖖🏾
Like the effects but the music is totally against the actual story here (it makes it sound like that being faced down by 3 opponents is a GOOD thing)
I assume that Enterprise model is from Star Trek: Discovery. Very nice!
Looks more like the Kobayashi Maru training simulator
Wrong musical score.
That scene in the original series had a very distinct score. Without it it's not the same scene.
Really nice model and rendering, except that the rear nacelle caps should look like those the TOS version had in the second pilot, not the series itself.
Now the fight
Better than discovery

That sucked!
